Yes yes these tests are craze. Yet im only 15, i can tell you that its not just the reading you need to do. You need to get an extra cheap PC and actually practice doing these types of scenerios. You must proceed to read alot though to make sure you remember the little things you might have forgot. Also have a deep knowledge about the Registry will help alot. I am currently in depth with reading the Windows XP Professiona Resource Kit by The Microsoft Team and its excellent. I am planning on to take the 270 when i get a little older.

I did all that, same error message pops up. Is there any other possible way i could set up connectiing to the server? Like something that connects to it using Windows XP Professional? For me, i know alot about Windows XP Professional, just trying to combine my knowledge with that to help me with this problem. Both my friend and i have XP Pro.

? I dont have the security tab and i tried updating it and it says it has the latest version. i alsso dont have the presence tab.

My friends computer is completely un-funtional. Has so much mal-ware i was unable to save it. I was able to save it the first time around then he didnt maintain it again and now i cant control it. So i came up with the decision of reformatting. Although i dont have the reformat CD for the harddrive. Is there anyway i can reformat his PC w/out having the HDD CD? If so please suggest. ^^100% agree with gamehead. Theres no way you can find your old password if you forgot it. You need to set it blank then change it from there. Has happened to me 5 times already! And other clients.

ok i set it up on my computer right now, and told me friend to install and create a network. Just to see it and see how it works. Now my friend created the network. Im connected to the network and i can chat with him through the network. Except everytime i try to browse it, an error window pops up saying, "The path"\\5.20.220.161' does not exist or is not a directory" ?!

Also, could i set up an Firewall onto the server and still have the clients be able to connect?

Windows XP Pro? would that be prefered?

Whats up guys!? Im sorry if this is in the wrong forum. I had no idea what forum this should be in. But it has to do with a server so i placed it in here. I've had about 600 extra pieces of computer parts in my house so i just built an extra computer out of them. And i have an idea of using it as a File Storage Server. How would i go about this. THe server would be located on my network. I would like for my friend(on a different network thats remote) and I(on the same network) to be able to access this server and be able to transfer files in and out of it. So we both have access to the files we both place on there. How would i go about doing this? Thanks, Matrix

lol sorry if this has already been posted but i think its hilarious. True story, I was happy. My girlfriend and I had been dating for over a year, and so we decided to get married.
