I don't see it in switches.rtf though. Maybe you forgot to add the 3rd cd switch you were talking about? I want to disable cd association with winamp but still keep the cdplayback support and ripping stuff. Everything is still ok except that cd association. I'd like the switch to be there. But is it normal it still says 5.092 everywhere? like on mouse over in the tray, in about, it still says 5.092 from may 26th. So did it really update or you just forgot to change the dates and version number?

I would prefer everything on but since you have Xfull=1 it's not a problem. As long as I can deselect video and cd association (hope you remembered to add the switch you forgot in last msi ). But I wish you find a way with those booleans to get a master switch to 1 but to let some minor switches be overwritten with the following lines if they are not 1. Like let's say, Xregaudio=1 and on the next line Xogg = 0 would overwrite only the 1 for the ogg file type and leave every other sound format to 1. Leave the context menus alone! Or maybe do a switch to turn it on or off since everything is 0 by default, but I want it on when I install with Xfull=1. Again, here, it would be the best if someone could Xfull=1 and then overwrite the context menu setting with Xcontext=0 on the following line. Now let's try this new msi, see if you got that cd playback switch there, and if it updates fine

I use the most recen java platform from Sun with IE and opera and it works fine. For the add blocking... good question... I have 7.54 installed and never got any problem with that. Thought there was an integrated add blocker. For IE I use google toolbar though.

I wouldn't have posted here if it was that easy but thanks anyway My langage setting has not change, only the 1 2 3 4 5 and 0 keys dont work anymore with alt car, while all other keys are working just as described in detail in the 1st post.

Hi, I'm having a very strange problem with my keyboard, that is not hardware related cause I tested every key and it's working... The thing is that I lost the @ and the #. Usually, alt car is used to provide more caracters on the keyboard. Starting from left to right \ _ _ _ _ _ ¬ ¦ ² ³ _ ½ ¾. The _ are the keys that are not working anymore with alt car, but they work perfectly cause I can write 1 2 3 4 5 and 0, and with shift, everything is alright | ! " / $ % ? & * ( ) _ + So what's wrong? Having to copy-paste @ each and everytime is quickly getting annoying so hope to have a solution soon. Thanks

I use IE6 with all SP and updates and I never had any problems. I considered to move to firefox but I realised that with more and more people using it, they started to find the same security flaws, so I don't trust FF more than IE. But I use Opera when for important browsing, when you have to go through lists of sites and open lots of browser windows. I really like the mouse gesture thing they implemented a long time ago.

I would never touch a Creative product in my life again. My first mp3 player was a Creative MuVo2 and it was a pain in the a**. Also Creative offer the WORST customer service I have ever seen in any field of the industry and a poor 3 month garantee. As for the ipod battery life, this was mostly true with the first 3 generations of the ipod, but it does not affect the newer versions, including the ipod mini. And even if you had bought an ipod in the first years, they recently settled an extended exchange policy to offer better customer service cause they know this was a huge problem with ipods back in the days. To be honest with you all, having 57Gb of mp3, I would not want to loose it all. But do you seriously need to travel with ALL of it, ALWAYS? I don't think so. That's why 4/6Gb is perfect to have just enough variety for week or two. If you want a backup of your mp3s, it would be far more cheaper and effective for you to buy yourself a dvd burner with a couple of discs, or another hard drive, than to pay the difference to have a 60Gb ipod instead of a 6Gb one. And if something happens to your ipod, you will still lose everything while a DVD can be made, and remade. DVD+-R also do good freesbies whereas the ipod tend to drop on the ground faster

That's why I don't understand people who answer 40Gb or 60Gb photo. GET AN IPOD MINI!! The new ones got a very extensive battery life (18 hours compared to mine from last year is 5 hours) and with 4 or 6Gb, you will have plenty of music on you. I have an ipod mini 4Gb and I really did a good move buying it. And with the ipodmini base and firewire/usb/dock connector dual cable (sold seperately), I can refresh my music while recharging the batteries. And there is even a nice little plugin for winamp to use with the media library so you can easily upload an entire album, or copy albums from ipod that are not in the media library.

Exactly, I've never tried alcohol but cause I never had a reason too since I discovered d-tool. Easy to use, small, doesn't take much memory and works very well. You can change a "cd" as quickly as if it was a real drive, with only a couple of clicks.

The other msi installed fine with me, with ini support but maybe it's only because I had winamp 5.08 already installed. Anyway if there is a 5.091 version already out, everyone better wait for allanoll's msi than installing something already out. When is winamp gonna stop releasing .00001 releases or a b c d e z versions every month or two? Can't they release betas like everyone else THEN do a major update or release ever 6 months or more? Nero also started on this releasing 6.0.6.13 version not even a month after 6.0.6.12 was out, and not a long time ago it was still 6.0.6.6 Like if we spent our lives on forums waiting for new versions of softwares to come out ...
-
Yep, another version is out... I wonder when they are gonna stop it, thought 5.08 would last for good. Anyway, you are on the case Allanoll, thanks for your time and programming and good look in your finals, here it's finals time too.

To quote prathapml rapidly, does Nanaki's installer fix this bug? http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=35467 Because I'm on administrator and never got any bugs with winamp so there is no use of that for me but for all the people running normal user mode it would be good to know if I should integrate it to my unattended xp installation disc

Hi. I want to update my HP 9300i firmware to check if it helps reduce de number of scrap cds it makes. After hours of roaming through the web, I managed to find in a dark corner of HP's ftp site the correct firmware. BUT, when I try to install it it says it can't detect if the currect software installed on my computer was the software from disc 1 and to insert this disc 1 and install the software.... 1st of all, my hp cd is gone to the paradise of lost&found cds long ago, but moreover, I downloaded and even installed the HP RecordNow software from hp's website so I guess I have the current version. Anyone got that **** cd it could send my as .iso cause hp sucks so much they want to charge me 15$ US to ship a cd with software and drivers updates while I already got the firmware update I want. This way of doing is seriously bugging me. Thanks for your help

Had the same problem, I reinstalled MSN plus with SPNG pluggin, the last version had bugs in it I think it was the problem. But strangely, I don't have the add feature for the emoticons and animated gif people send me...

In winnt.sif, I remember there was a line to skip file protection. I don't know if it helps but... Right after the [unattended] section, I have this section [SystemFileProtection] SFCQuota = 0 I was installing office xp with my unattended windows xp cd so I can't say if the problem is with office2003 only, but I never saw that warning you speak about. And I remember in the old tutorial they said to put system file protection on again, at some point of the process. I did not. So maybe if you followed the instructions too carefuly you put it back on later in the windows installation process. Hope this helps a bit

THANKS A LOT!!! You took the time to read my problem and came exactly with the right answer. I know this was not that hard to fix

It's not a virus, that I can say. For the rest, if somebody would tell me how to set back the folder options as they were it would be nice. I am thinking about reinstalling norton disk doctor to check if everything else is ok. Except doind this and formating, I'd like to have some other options to set it back as it was.

**** it, last time my computer hang out, the naming problem switched back to E: but still is in e:\edonkey too. Again, when My Computer is idle, every other folder can be accessed normally. I just don't know what's the link between that and the fact it changes the display of the names of icons in thumbnail view. Please someone! Tell me what's wrong?
-
Hey this is a bump because nobody answered me all weekend long. Please I know it must be something stupid but when you did not do it it's harder to know how to undo it.
-
Did it happened to any of you before?

Hey seriously I'd like a reply! Fixing My Computer was easy cause I had the option in the contextual menu to group the icons back together, even though I did not set them to be ungrouped in any way. But I can't find any way to show the file name under the thumbnails icons in e:\edonkey, and only in this folder since this problem shifted from e: to e:\edonkey and I seriously don't know how it changed folder and how to set this back to normal. I already checked in the folder option and did not see anything.

Thanks for all your replies I was looking for a costless way to do it so I'm gonna read my motherboard book again to see if I did not pass over anything that could help me reset the bios, cause removing the battery did not do a thing. I read the thread submited right above, and the only solution that is costless (if it works...) in the case you can't reset your bios from the motherboard, is to hotswap it on another board to upload the right versions of the files for my motherboard. But this is higly risky, "not for the faint of heart" as the guy said...

Hi I don't know if another thread speak of this problem because I could not find a way to translate it simply in the search engine. Starting a couple of days ago, I started to have some hanging while accessing My Computer. It stoped responding while all other folders could be accessed. Then, I noticed in my E: drive that the icons, in thumbnail mode only, would not show the names under the files. In every other mode we could see it but not thumbnail. It stayed the same after rebooting and for 2-3 days. Strangely, just right now, it came back to normal (?!?!) but now, it's E:\eDonkey that has the problem. All the files in e:\edonkey now don't show the file name under the thumbnail, but only in thumbnail mode and not in any other view style. And at the same time, My computer still displays the drive icons in mosaic style, but like a simple folder, while before it used to separate the drives, from the cd roms, and the webcams and the mass storage devices. WTF is going on?????? And how to set those options back the way they were? Oh yeah and BTW when My Computer stops responding, even after explorer resets and all, it still stops responding again until I reboot. But when I shutdown my computer it hangs at Now closing windows... Thanks alot
