Yes packager is no longer supported in v9.0 BUT it still is distributed on the cd as you can see in the attached screenshot. The ONLY THING MISSING are the files that they "forgot" to put on the cd and that's why I've been asking here for a week for some kind 8.1 corporate user to send me those darn project files from his packager. CAUSE THAT'S THE SOLUTION FROM SYMANTEC. All I got yet is denial and people telling me this is warez... come on guys... (and mazin thanks for your help but if you don't have v8.1 you could do nothing more) It's not because it's no longer officially supported that this will not work, and since nobody tried yet we wont know before I do it. Now if anyone can understand what i'm saying, please take some time to look through your old cds, find SAV v8.1 and zip me the project files that comes with packager. If it only extracts them but windows does not see them, why not put the program under unattended and not GUIunattended so it starts before the gui? could this work or is the drivers not going to be uncompressed on the c: drive after that? We could also do 2 operations, one before gui starts with uncompressed drivers so windows sees them during install and another one during gui mode simply to get the files copied on the drive and extracted on the C: some people could even use this step to rename their driver files to DriverPack or copy them to c:\windows\DriverPack if they want to... OR I don't understant what file does what here, but if the files could simply get uncompressed, if we manually added them to OemPNPDriverPath or whatever the name and still save the MB. The only thing I don't know is how to uncompress them.

So I do not have a licence. So how can I solve my problem? please I'm sure it's easier to use the packager included with v9, but I need the project files from v8.1 to use it cause symantec "forgot" to put them on the cd. Why does it says Impossible to install the service SAVRTPEL (SAVRTPEL). Check that you have sufficient privileges to install services wtf? I am administrator! If I click on Ignore it says later Failed to load Symantec AntiVirus Auto-Protect And why does live update go on at the end of install? I added the line so it would go on but in the old packager LU could run silently and update itself silently after installation if i'm right... So how can we tell it to update silently in the back while other apps install?

Hi, I am using Windows XP SP2 fr and I noticed a strange behavior from the "hidden" key during unattended installation. The hidden files are set to "show" (00000001) by my registry tweaks but as soon as Folder Option is opened, it resets the value to "hide" (00000000) automatically because the little dot is still beside "hide" by default. Now, anyone experienced this? And how can I get around that? Thanks

I already have a leagal version of norton personnal edition, but packager only comes with the corporate edition, I don't think my issue is really "warez"... it's only easier to install with my personnal unattended windows XP cd if i use a custom packager. So again, please send me those files if you have a minimum of ethical judgement, you'll understand my point I guess

I'm having a very strange error while testing my installation cd. On my real computer, if I take out every real install command and only keep the processing structure, everything goes ok, choice runs and everything is perfect. With the same structure, but during real installation on Virtual PC, each and every time, choice does not get run thus not installing the applications. What's the problem?? I kept the same choice command and choice.com is always in the same folder as the batch file, in C:\Install\Applications ($OEM$\$1\Install\Applications\)

Maybe there is a way to do a .exe that forces windows to update all drivers AFTER installation is done? This does not solve our problem but could be a shortcut to get around, even if it takes more times during install.

I noticed something, my drivers got extracted in c:\driverz but the folders they were in got doubled. what was in audio.7z got in c:\driverz\audio\audio And i'm not sure if this works from last time, I was too enthousiast to check if the drivers got installed cause the drivers were finally extracted on the drive. Sorry for any false hope I created

No, choice.com works perfectly well, as I told, I use CHOICE Install the **** apps? /C:YN /T:Y,60 and it does exactly what I wanted Install the **** apps? [Y/N] _ and after about a minute it goes on with the yes. That's why choice.com should never have been removed. All I wanted was that if I'm not sitting there in front of my computer because I DO NOT want to install the default apps I added myself on my unattended xp cd, I would have more then enough time to press N, if i'm not there it's because I don't care and want the default apps installed because i'm the one who made this **** cd hehehe. Still, I'm curious about those custom CHOICE.com you are talking, what do they do more? My version of CHOICE.com from DOS 6 or 7 supports 60 seconds timeouts.

@crahak now I'm all confused, the CHOICE /T:Y,10 is asking wait.com to wait for the time specified, then times out and the batch files continue. Right? Now if I do PING 1.1.1.1 -n 1 -w 10000 > NUL it sends out a PING command, delayed for 10 seconds, then goes on with the rest of the script. Right? So from what I understand, if i'm right, the only difference between does 2 is that the first one is embeded in the CHOICE.com file, which I have to add (this should never have been taken out of windows) and the second one sends a useless ping request about a fictive machine only to kill time before continuing. So if I'm right, both are the same while being different, and I don't understand what's the big fuzz about this.?

You said: l.1 if a variable named %1 exists and is equal to Y then it goes to yes l.2 if a variable named %1 exists and is equal to N then it goes to no BUT where does this variable come from? and where does the Y or N comes? l.3 only at this moment we are asking the user to pres Y or N, and where is this information going? how is it related to the %1 variable seen before? l.5 and 6 are chineese to me and I really don't know why they are there. for the rest I think I understand the ping, and :yes :no section are easy to get.

Anyone here who got NAV corporate edition v9 may have realised that the packager utility is no longer supported. But more, the .pmi files needed to run with the installer are not even on the CD!!! Symantec "forgot", they appologise and tell me to take the .pmi files from the NAV corporate edition 8.1 Do I look like the kind of guy who want to buy old softwares versions just for the hell of it? Now my question: anyone could please, and kindly, attach a .zip with his packager files from v8.1 so I can use the packager I got with my v9 PLEASE!! and thanks Else, if you have another solution, I'm willing to try anything as long as I get my packager installation done

Ok, CHOICE.com SHOULD NOT be in c:\windows\command else it tells me it is not recognised as a valid internal or external command, but it works perfect if it is directly in the folder your batch file is running. And the timer works too for 60 seconds. @greenmachine thanks for your link, I'll still try your solution just for fun, and the page you linked got more goodies
