  1. @serialz Don't get sad, here comes the good comments. THE NEW FILES WORKED PERFECTLY!! I am on WindowsXP SP2 french version, and my drivers were installed, the files stayed in C:\Driverz and everything looks ok! The only thing is that the .1 file who previously were the only ones to stay on the drive, they are still there, but as long as I get all my drivers I don't give a sh*t. Great work! @all For all the others, have you tried simply the new files? without all your blablabla about hive and prepcmd and whatever. Cause they are working without even renaming them! Anyway, I hope it works for ya all soon. btw I tested it only in VirtualPC, I don't know how vmWare works but it looks like soooo much more trouble! Try VirtualPC people, it's 45 days free.
  2. WOOT updated files!! Will have an answer for you Lucius in about 4-10 hours depending how much time it takes to install and how much time I'll sleep I really hope it works this time else I'll just go back to ol' OemPNPDriverPath blablabla... even if it takes 30MB on my cd *keeps fingers crossed*
  3. @serial I am under Windows XP SP2 final release, french version. I will retry with the 3 lines in [sourceblablabla] at the beginning and not and the end of the list. Else, i am experiencing the same problem as Keul and the others @all Is everyone having trouble on a french system??? Anyway, I don't want to play in my hive files so I really hope new files get posted soon Keep on I think you are moving closer to solving this.
  4. yeah, I retried with the renamed new files, and the older 7z files but someone should really post link for the elder 7za files so we could rename it and make this thing work
  5. I only want the quick launch bar displayed for Current User. I saw this key in some post but not really sure if this works [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer] "ClassicShell"=dword:00000001 Else, any simple way I can add this to my regtweaks.reg file so my unattended installation would get me into windows with the quick launch bar already settup? Thanks
  6. I too have XP SP2 french version and this time, with the updated files, there was not even a DRIVERZ folder on my root drive. I had tried with the new files, and I did not forget to update the txtsomething.sif I had to change. I really don't know what is going on but we took a step back, not forth. Need help here I guess
  7. I am currently trying using the new 7za and the other files from the updated version. But with the older one I get no drivers in C:\DRIVERZ but 1 file (I forgot the name but there is a 1 in it... somebody already reported this error. I used 7zip to compress my drivers. I test my installations with VirtualPC from Microsoft, not VMWare. Hope the updated files will solve the problem, will report on this in about an hour or so
  8. Just wondering, I have to keep old win9x drivers for my printer since I put it on a LAN with other nonXP systems. If I install my drivers your way, 1- where will they be on my HD after installation if I need to browse the driver wizard so he could find them when I will share my printer? and 2- if they are not on the c:, are they reachable on the cd or the wizard wont find em if they are .7z files? Thanks.
  9. I got the same problem using those tweaks... Why would it not install itself in the right S-1-... folder in the registry, does HKEY_USER.Default\ works or what? And wha'ts the alphanumerical things between { }, does this have to me set for a variable? I've been testing this for 2 days and still can't find out why it doesn't work. I used regshot and found the other keys on this site but maybe some are for win2k? Anyway, if any good person can help me, I want to: add windows update to start menu, get the quicklaunch bar on the start bar, add My Computer, Network... and My Documents on the desktop, show hidden folders and finaly add Copy-To, Move-To and Open Command Window Here in r-click contextual menu. Thanks a lot, after that I'm done with that Unattended XP cd...
  10. Yeah, I got the msi yesterday morning (so I do not have the most recent version I guess now...) but anyway, it works great! That INI thing was the greatest idea ever!
  11. I tried that but there is always about 72 changes done to registry by programs that I don't know so I'm a bit confused... Unchecking the box in Screen Saver to disable the return to user menu is surely not changing 72 registry keys... I narrowed the possibilities to those 6 but are they all necessary to disable that anoying check box? I also tried to redirect the My Documents and all it's folders to another location those are the line I thought where useful HKEY_USERS\S-1-5-21-484763869-2147186959-854245398-1003\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders\Personal: "D:\Mes documents" HKEY_USERS\S-1-5-21-484763869-2147186959-854245398-1003\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders\My Pictures: "D:\Mes documents\Mes images" HKEY_USERS\S-1-5-21-484763869-2147186959-854245398-1003\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders\My Music: "D:\Mes documents\Ma musique" HKEY_USERS\S-1-5-21-484763869-2147186959-854245398-1003\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders\New\My Video: "D:\Mes documents" HKEY_USERS\S-1-5-21-484763869-2147186959-854245398-1003\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\CopyMoveTo\LastFolder: 2F 00 14 00 1F 50 E0 4F D0 20 EA 3A 69 10 A2 D8 08 00 2B 30 30 9D 19 00 2F 44 3A 5C 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 Again, there was so many other lines speaking of ShellNoRoam and BagsMRU and stuff like that, it that usefull too to redirect a folder or just the result of windows transfering the initial files to the new folder? Also, to do that, maybe not everyone stores his my documents in D:\my documents so is there a way to add a variable where the user could enter the path where he wants the My Documents folder to go? Thanks a lot.
  12. I looked at all the steps, spent hours on the net looking and can't find what's the trouble. After successfull unattended installation of windows XP pro, on the first run and during my application installation, but even on the second run, XP keeps finding new hardware and installing drivers for them, great, but it keeps asking me about ignoring the driver signing policy. Don't tell me to add DriverSigning=Ignore or something like that, it's done, done too for the non-driver signing policy, but even then it stills warns me. I looked in the registry and the values are correctly set for Ignore... So what's XP's thing about warning me then? And how do I disable that! I don't want to click "continue" for nothing if it can install silently Thanks for any help
  13. Thanks, I knew it was useless but I tried it anyway... and thanks for solving this, since XP seamed to be built in english to avoid old win98 problems of having 2 desktop and bureau folders, a my documents and mes documents, etc. So since it was still documents and settings and that adding a user was not adding a usager, I thought that the code for admin group would still be administrators. I'll try it in french right away!
  14. I can't get the user accounts to be right!! It creates a user Thauzar, than adds it to administrator group like it says on the tutorial here, but then at logon Thauzar logs in automatically but is not an administrator... here is my code for useraccount.cmd and autologon.reg @echo off CLS ECHO. ECHO Création de l'utilisateur... net user "Thauzar" 28465 /add PAUSE ECHO. ECHO Enregistrement de l'usager dans le registry... REGEDIT /S autologon.reg PAUSE ECHO. ECHO Création du groupe Administrateur net localgroup Administrators /add PAUSE ECHO. ECHO Mise en place de l'accès administrateur... net localgroup Administrators "Thauzar" /add PAUSE ECHO. ECHO Enlève l'expiration du mot de passe... net accounts /maxpwage:unlimited PAUSE ECHO. ECHO Ajoute les modifications du registre à l'utilisateur en cours REGEDIT /S regtweaks.reg EXIT I added PAUSE here just to troubleshoot and be sure every line was completed successfully, which is the case. In this version I tried with the registry settings after the creation of the user, just for a change cause I had the exact copy of this site's tutorial and it did not work. Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon] "DefaultUserName"="Thauzar" "DefaultPassword"="28465" "AutoAdminLogon"="1" I tried with or withouth "AutoAdminLogon"="1", and I am going to try adding a "DefaultLocalGroup"="Administrators" but not sure if it will works. So if you have any idea how to fix my user accound login to be an administrator, thanks a lot! Else if you can tell me how to remove the ASP.net useraccount then I'll add it to my code even if it doesn't fix my initial problem.
