Hi I already posted a topic like that but got no response. Trying again. I tend to "lose" some keys on my keyboard after a while, and nothing except reboots can give them back to me. I don't remember all of the but they are all on the alt-car row. I think it was 2-3-4-8-9 or something like that. What's annoying is that I have my @ caracter on alt-car-2. Someone told me to change the keyboard cause it was a hardware problem. Bullsh*t. Changed my keyboard for nothing cause it happens again. Worse, my laptop started doing it too! So I'd like to know if someone experienced this, maybe it's a conflict with a software. Anyone use NetLimiter, dc++, bittornado, norton systemworks, opera and get that? I really don't have a clue. Hi, I just noticed while doing my bi-weekly nero update, downloading 200mb of updates packs.... NeroPhotoshoot Express is now availlable only as a web installer. Which means I don't know how to download directly the french installer. Is there a way to get that full file for my ua cd?

Hi everyone, this one may be pretty easy to some so I hope a quick answer. I have a friend working in an office where he cannot r-click on the recycle bin to empy it. He got some kinky picture from a friend, saw them and deleted them. But now he can't empty recycle bin and he is afraid his boss would see that. I read about something with cmd promt but there does not seem to be a recycled folder in XP (or maybe it's because I use norton systemworks?) Anway, is there a simple batch file or something I could send to him so it would remove all attributes (this I could find out on my own) and then deletes everything is recycle bin for good? Thanks

Hi After weeks of testing why my UA cd was rebooting unexpectedly around T-30 and talking to nuhi cause it only happens when I had done a winnt.sif with nlite... FINALLY: after I tested out everything, nuhi suggested it was maybe a network card problem... So I did a new virtual machine WITHOUT a network and it worked!!!!! But when I add a network, wether it's NAT, bridged or host-something... (i tried all 3) I get the reboot. It never happened to me with workstation 4 but it started happening with workstation 5 i guess. Even though I managed to make it work a couple of times in the beggining, 2 weeks ago, but after it rapidly started rebooting each time. So what's wrong? my network card is working fine in my windows, and I don't want to risk formating and getting stuck at setup with an continuous reboot. Is it vmware or what?

Could there be a little more informations about how to modify this code to fit for any custom bootscreen of our choice? I'm not familiar with WPI nor registries but I guess if I knew what to change I could adapt if for numerous different bootscreens. In fact, here is my real question: how to easily integrate a bootskin custom bootscreen in an unattended CD? This is what I really want to know. Thanks

You know there is a nice page Allanoll worked on, it's called MSFN UNATTENDED INSTALLATION GUIDE. You have beginner, intermediate and expert informations and tutorials and you'll learn that using $OEM$ folder is way more basic than playing with runonceex. If you are an sfx expert, you'll understand this in 30 seconds.

Talking about this with the manager from Compusmart, he admitted that Kodak sold their names to some looser guy who imports batches of cheap cds under the kodak name. That's why since a year and a half kodak cds are cheap and buggy. Since that time, all the stacks I bought where crap and I remember clearly always buying kodaks before. So not only the brand WAS good, but they just sold it out to a looser with no brain who now sells dogsh*t under the kodak name. I did'nt found any cd-r brand yet but I got TDK dvd-r and +r and the -r are working perfectly. Didnt tried the + ones yet.

to copy entire directory with subdirectories and everything without having to MD anything, I used xcopy "path" "path" /S/E/Y

first create your folders MD C:\1\2\3\ then copy the file copy c:\install\file.dat c:\1\2\3\file.dat a quick search in google for dos copy would have answered your question. That's what I did this afternoon when I forgot xcopy existed

Ok so i copied windows, slipstreamed sp2and hotfixes, copied winnt.sif from that point (backup from last try) and added the drivers pack. I also removed the tour and windows messenger. I added the tweak for the classic installation view and black background so I could know if it stucked again. Everything went fine. I DID NOT install any patches this time (uxtheme and SFC). I'll try adding the other tweaks I turned on last time but if it works I guess the problem was with one of those 2 patches. EDIT: I confirm, i added lots of tweaks and it still worked. I just added my softwares now to realise GUIrunonce and RunOnceEx will run at the same time. I think it was one of those patches. Bashrat: is there a problem with that? or should i use your experimental runonceex for method 1? I could also make a timer run as 1st program in runonceex if I knew how long exactly does it take to install all the codecs pack. Thanks EDIT: I tried with a 5 minutes timer... and it still start the driver setup at the 4th slot of my runonceex. Can you explain how it works Bashrat please? Cause if I could time my runonceex so it sleeps while guirunonce starts the drivers cmd file, it would be great. But I did not notice a problem yet with the fact they currently run at the same time as my daemon tool installation, but i did not have the chance to test daemon tool withing vmware

I redid a nlited cd slipstreamed with sp2, and used setupmgr instead of nlite to create the unattended file. I then added BST driver packs. I tested the iso and it worked after each step. Now I'll try to remove the components I dont want (guided tour and windows messenger only) and add some tweaks. I also removed the tweaks i already had in my tweak file to avoid doubles of any sort. I am currently testing this dvd and will report later tonight. EDIT: failed Restarting again... will post the steps until i find the receipe to get it right

I'm having the SAME problem with method 1. I already posted in the nlite forum cause I thought it was maybe the beta4 who was responsible... But maybe it's the drivers pack. I ripped and slipstreamed with nlite XP pro sp2, then added all hotfixes (except the one requirering /Q:A R:N). Then I added all my programs and finished by integrating the driverpacks with method 1 fully automated. The result is after loading device drivers and setting up network configurations, it says restarting system... then starts back the installation until network configurations... restart... over and over again! Please help

I tried with an old kodak I had left at the bottom of a used cd-r stack (lucky me...) and it worked!!! The thing is, my newer cd stack is also kodak, and I already exchanged them once cause the other ones kept getting me power calibration error on my old hp cd-rw... I thought it was the cd-writer, but now I realise maybe both stacks where wrong. Aren't Kodak supposed to be a good brand?
