Thanks, but just found out we can also place a folder @ %WINDIR%\Setup\Scripts where we can place setupcomplete.cmd file with all the commands of installing silent application which is run by the windows setup itself, means we don't have to put the shortcut in the startup folder. I found out this method in WAIK CHM.

WSIM = Windows System Image Manager, its in WAIK.

I wonder what are different methods of installing silent application during windows 7 installation. I know some of them which are: 1. $OEM$ folder and setupcomplete.cmd method 2. install folder and one cmd file in which shortcut of the cmd file is kept in the startup folder to trigger the installation 3. install the OS and then install the application and then capture the install.wim Is there any other method by which we can install silent applications, like using autoplay applications, I mean can we make a folder like install folder with a cmd file and then trigger the cmd file with autoplay kinda of application ofcourse either with the OS installation or on the first logon. I wish to install the application during the OS installation itself but don't want to use $OEM$ folder method. Actually I wish to hide my silent application folder and its cmd file, so I am exploring the possibilities. I don't want to keep the shorcut in the startup folder either, as it will reveal the exact location of my silent application folder. See we can make a folder somewhere in the windows folder, now I need to know how we can trigger the cmd file to install the silent application without putting its shortcut in the startup folder? Please help me guys....................................

Use RT 7 lite to create xml.

yeah virtual box is better but it doesn't support aero effect.

I guess I can probably help you as I also had same problem, If you are using a pen drive to install your trimmed OS then I would suggest you to change your pendrive. I would recommend kingston's data Traveler.

If you have already syspreped then better you boot your pc in winpe and capture the install.wim. If you don't want to do that I would suggest you to backup your C drive with Acronis True Image Home 2010. Later you can restore this image in the same computer or to a different computer using universal option.

If you install this on Virtual machine it will show that window anyhow. I have also tried making unattended.xml with rt7lite, but when you will install it on actual machine it will not pop-up. I have observed it personally.

No I didn't, then also I have installed wimmount driver once again but no success. Though I have used RT7lite once before this attempt that time it worked fine ofcourse with your help. But when I tried once again I am getting that error. Infact I have uninstalled vlite after you have released rt7lite.

I guess you must be talking about xml named ultimate, as my OS is "Windows 7 Ultimate". There is no xml with "wim" name. Here is my ultimate.xml. Ultimate.xml

Yeah you are right but this is what I don't want to do: 1. I am not getting silent installer of latest version of Google Chrome 2. It will take an extra bit of time. Ok, I came to know that if I install Google chrome in my current OS and then copy the entire folder from "C:\Users\Administrator\AppData\Local\Google" and then paste it in my mounted install.wim. Will it work noramlly??????????

See what I did, I install my OS and then install some applications along with Google Chrome then I sysprep my OS and then capture my install.wim. Are you trying to tell that I should install google chrome when my system is in Audit mode during sysprep? And moreover I make my OS unattented so that when it is installed it directly take me to the desktop with Admin accout.

Hi guys, I have installed my OS and then install Google chrome but when I capture install.wim after sysprep my google chrome is vanished from the install.wim. What I understood is...................... google chrome actually installs in user folder by default not in programe files and I guess sysprep actually cleaned the user folder. My question: Is it possible to keep the google chrome without changing its default installation directory with capturing method?

I guess there is no extra folder in his install.wim. He is just looking his wim via 7zip and I have also tried with 7zip it shows some strange folder in the wim. Mine showing two folders "1" and "files" and I know there are no such folder in my wim I have already tried my install.wim and is working fine without any extra folders.

Which extra folder you are talking about????????? If you are talking the ones you see with 7zip then forget about this, after installation you won't see that folder. The folders you see by mounting only those folder would be there after installation.

I don't think 7zip is the right tool to for wim files. I have also looked by wim via 7zip and what I can see two folder and a xml file. I would suggest you to better use WAIK for vista or WAIK for windows 7 for wim files.

use restorer 2007.

You need to change the text in boot.wim as well as in install.wim. I guess you have changed only in the boot.wim but not in install.wim.

Wow, just 668mb New Build??????????????? Are you talking about the version v1.0.8 or you are going to release another version after v1.0.8????????? And are you sure aero theme is working fine in your OS as I feel if move your cursor to any of the opened window it will not show the preview of the window. I hope I am wrong.
