  1. Did you try just to burn it without making an ISO file? nLite offers such an option on the same screen as "Make ISO file". I don't know Nero 9 (I use Nero 6), but I don't think there is a big difference if you will use data or mixed mode burning. I hope you are not burning the ISO image itself, but have mounted it on a virtual disk to get the data from the XP SP3 CD; then you can simply choose "Copy CD" in Nero's options. Cheers
  2. I have two points to ask about: 1. What do you mean by "reloading the session"? nLite-ing should only be done once per source; for a new session you need a fresh copy of Windows files in your folder. 2. "One disk for several computers" - I hope you own those computers at home, because nLite does not allow corporate use.
  3. Here it is, for your viewing pleasure :-) Edit: confirming Ponch's solution, as I noticed the same symptom with removal of "Security Center" which became available with SP2, and I get it through SP3.
  4. there is no clock.av_ file in any folder i do not understand what does "Remove it from the nLite session" mean. "Remove it from the nLite session" mean : to remove it using nlite program or what ? if yes i have already done . if its mean : to delete "nlite session.ini" files i have already done When you start making a XP CD with nLite and reach the screen you have posted in the screenshot, remove clock.avi from the window where it is set to remove. Then it will be installed.
  5. Remove it from the nLite session, not from the .INI files.
  6. See this : http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=133839 Basically, make sure that the folder contains ONLY the files needed for the add-on.
  7. That's right, just remove clock.avi from that list and it will be installed. Enjoy
  8. TweakUiPowertoySetup.exe contains Tweakui Powertoy for Windows XP.msi. So, you need to run TweakUiPowertoySetup.exe and on first screen go to %temp% and copy from there Tweakui Powertoy for Windows XP.msi which resides in a folder inside Temp dir. OK, I see what you mean; i suppose I can also extract it with Universal Extractor and run Tweakui Powertoy for Windows XP.msi with MSI switches. Thank you.
  9. Ponch, you are right about slipstreaming SP3, and your explanation is logical. johnhc, if still needed after Ponch's explanation, I will post what you asked for. Thank you.
  10. Any chance for TweakUI? I tried to find out its switch, but was unsuccessful. Thank you in advance.
  11. This is a wide area, and you will have to be specific about the programmes you want to install. You can find some information HERE about different types of installers and their switches (under Intermediate section), or you can use search to find add-ons or installation procedure for specific programmes. Hope this helps
  12. Here you are; as I said it is present in the LastSession.ini file, but will probably appear again in the next nLite session. If it does, I will also post a screenshot. Thank you
  13. Although Blaster/Nachi Removal tool is selected for removal in nLite and present in the Last_Session.ini file as marked, it keeps reappearing in every new session as not marked for removal. This is odd because it doesn't happen with any other component. I'm using the last version of nLite with XP Pro SP1 CD. Any thoughts or suggestion? Thank you in advance, Sp0iLedBrAt
  14. Please post (attach) your Last_Session.ini file, check the order of updating and tell us which operating system you are using as a host to create the nLite disk. Thank you
  15. I made an nLite addon for Firefox 3.0.10 using the offline mode. It all worked well during the process, and I got a .7z file and nLite made no problems about it. Please see attachment. The problem appeared when, testing it on VirtualPC with XP Pro SP3, I got an error "the system cannot find the file specified" and Firefox was not installed when Windows booted. Then I checked the SVCPACK folder with the other add-ons and I didn't see Firefox anywhere. Any ideas? Thanks in advance. Edit: I have just found that the Firefox archive is in the I386 Folder, and not along with the other add-ons in I386/SVCPACK. Is this normal? Edit: After 2 days and four VirtualPC installations, I can't get it to work as an nLite add-on. Now trying with the silent installer option. Edit: Silent installer for Firefox 3.0.10 working perfectly if executed through a batch file! Still not sure what's the problem with the add-on maker (including plug-ins, themes and bookmarks)
  16. THIS is the best way I have found for silent switchless SFX font Add-on (made for TrueType and OpenType fonts). Tested and works
  17. most drivers can be installed through PNP, while SATA, RAID or AHCI drivers should go through textmode. Concerning programmes, try to find add-ons for the programmes you need; check the application add-ons sub-forum here under nLite forum, and a lot of people also make add-ons. You probably won't find everything you want, but there is an option to make your own add-ons (you can find detailed instructions through search.) Enjoy, Sp0iLedBrAt
  18. After going through a lot of search hits, I still haven't found a reliable solution to integrate addons into Firefox and have them set up from an unattended XP disk. I did manage to find a piece of software called JonnyboysTools_v0.103, but I'm still not quite sure how it works; my guess is it reads preferences from the current system, but it doesn't ask for any installation files either from Firefox or addons. I suppose this is the best sub-forum to pose this question, so I was wondering if there was any progress into this matter. Thank you for your thoughts, Sp0iLedBrAt Edit: I managed to make an off-line install with JonnyboysTools_v0.103, and am testing the nLite addon on VirtualPC. Will be back with results.
  19. Look at this; others have had the same problem, hope it helps http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=116371
  20. no, in the same folder as I386.
  21. ok, this is what you do: right-click the file and select ADD TO ARCHIVE (this is with WinRAR): Compression method: Store Click Create SFX Archive On the second tab ADVANCED, click SFX options Under General tab, Path to extract, add the path where you want the file to extract (e.g. C:\Program Files\Adobe\...) Under Mode tab, Silent Mode, select Hide All. That should be all. Now create the SFX archive; let's say the name is EXAMPLE.exe In your Windows source folder, create a folder $OEM$, and inside a subfolder COPY. Put the file EXAMPLE.exe inside the COPY folder. Now open Notepad or another text editor. Type REM COPY start /wait %Source%$OEM$\COPY\EXAMPLE.exe exit Save it in the root of the Windows source folder as BATCH.cmd . When you nLite your CD, in the RunOnce tab add this code CMD /R %Source%BATCH.cmd . That's it. It will copy itself after Windows instalation
  22. There are two ways: 1. Integrate the silent switch into the sfx; or 2. make a batch file that you will add in the RunOnce section of nLite and it will execute on first startup. To help you with the correct switch, you need to tell me what the SFX contains; is it an .exe or...?
  23. nic303, if you want it to run after windows installation, you can put it to execute with a batch file through the RunOnce section of nLite, with silent switches. If you give us more information, we can be more specific. Cheers
  24. It's nice to see it on the positive side . However, let's try and solve it. Have there been any other symptoms meanwhile?
