  1. It could be a capacitor indeed. Did you look at them? In addition, does it have an external power supply?
  2. But you see something on the screen? Is there any backlight?
  3. First try another Power Supply (PSU), if that does not help, unplug all that you can from your mobo that is not necessary for a computer to boot up.
  4. Changing the language of the selected text should change it I think; just select the numbers and change the language in English for example.
  5. It not a bad idea at all, you don’t need more then that to get it run well. Just give us a list of printers that you want to connect to it.
  6. quote name='clidx' date='Aug 8 2007, 05:36 AM' post='681142'] EDIT nvm solved it by upgrading the bios One day you will be a technician or even an engineer . I’m happy all works well now, so, how do you like your new toys?
  7. Okay, let’s continue the operation . Now, unclip each connector and clip it again, starting with the one that comes from the screen... Check inside the connector if you can see some white or green oxidation... Peteski told you it could be a backlight problem, so I need to know how the screen looks like. It goes blank you say? Totally white? Or Black?
  8. That's what they said about AGP. In general all new stuff isn’t interesting when you look at the price performance ratio. I could be wrong but let´s see in November .
  9. Bruce, you never give up on the 2600XX series do you ? The C7 at 2GHz uses 20Watts and it not cheap with a mobo, not even to mention when it has PCI-E on it. I would go indeed with an iNTEL E2140 or a AMD X2 4000+ or so like the others said.
  10. It seems there is no much on XP that comes close to MythTV or Mythbuntu... I know that I would have Linux on my HTPC
  11. I play games and upgrade .
  12. Is this a serous question I guess she won’t even notice a difference between a single core and a dual core.
  13. Hard to see with the info on the internet, but I’m sure it’s clicked together. Use your fingernails to open it a bit, not with a metal screwdriver that would damage the screen. If you’re lucky it pops open a bit or you can see where the click-connections are hidden.
  14. Plans are that nVidia will release there PCI-E 2.0 cards and chipsets in November. I don’t think it will make much difference with the first PCI-E 2.0 and the PCI-E cards; you will pay more and get almost no performance gains out of it. Wait some 9 months I would say if you want to go with PCI-E 2.0, but I’m sure you want to use it when the latest games come out in November so I would buy that card when you want it (the no PCI-E 2.0 version), if not now.
  15. Some parts could be "clicked" together, so that means it was made to be assembled, but hard to take a part. Can you give the model number so I can see what model it is?
  16. That’s strange; I don’t see people having the same problem like you have on the net. Did you install other codecs over the codecs from this program? Did you de-install and re-install it again? Also, what version numeber are we talking about? What’s your OS and is it modded (with nLite/vLite for example)...
  17. That depends on what kind of printers they are. If they are USB you could buy some extra USB PCI cards with each 4 external ports, for parallel interfaced printers you could buy some PCI cards with one or 2 parallel ports on it. Like arctirus told you, put an equal or better OS on it, but if it’s XP or Vista for example it will be enough to have Windows 2000 installed on it (Still they sell licenses, and they are very cheap ).
  18. I saw your post asking about a good cooler to replace your stock one. I know your card died now. Has this any thing to do with your problem?
  19. It depends on the temperature, but you say that the screen looks fine for some time so I guess it didn’t affect it. If the screen was not packed the contacts could be oxidized when it was not stored in a dry place. I think you have to open it and look at it first .
  20. I presume you are running Windows XP or Vista? One I know of is made for Linux called MythTV.
  21. 3000 In 6 hours , just on that page... Told ya nuhi, you will become a God ...
  22. Looks like the monitor has a heat problem that courses false contacts or so... No warranty on it? Then I would open it and reseat the cables inside the screen: just pull them out of the contacts and put them back in. Be careful if you use contact-spray that you don’t spray on your display, which could heavily damage the screen…
  23. The right BIOS can be found here. Strange that you can boot when the beep is there...
  24. arfaja, As far as I can see you want to make a database of images that updates it self automatically when you replace a JPG file some were else? Or insert it from a database inside the PowerPoint file? As far as I know a file of a photo/image can’t be seen directly as an object, so you have to convert that photo/image to an object. None of the above is a standard function in PowerPoint, but there can be written a script in Visual Basic but that goes beyond my knowledge…
  25. I could have told you that, but I thought you wanted to use Azureus .
