As you can see on Tomshardware page they perform almost the same, but remember that the XFX card I showed you has a core of 600MHz vs. 450MHz and memory of 1.6GHz vs. 1.32Ghz of the standard 7900GS. I remember that I recommended some one an x1950GT a few weeks ago, that was more expensive then this one...

Okay, so you need a card that can support 2 DVI to VGA converters. I would go with the XFX 7900GS XXX 256MB GDDR3 256bit DVI HDTV out PCI-E Graphics Card and an extra DVI to VGA converter. 69 Quit is a fair price and comes stock OCed so it will come close to a 7900GT, if not the same speed.

Okay, so enough power is here. Still we don’t know what screens are hooked up to your computer.

I used CCleaner too before, but lately I switched to nCleaner, take a look at it if you like .

First, we need to know a bit more about your system. Can you give us some specs please, like Motherboard type and Power Supply (how much Amperes does it say on the 12volt line(s))? What kind of screens do you use (brand and model number)? The x1950xx/79x0xx are nice cards but power-hungry and some cards don’t come with DVI to VGA adaptors...
-
This shouldn't be an issue if the motherboard properly supports ACPI. Shouldn’t be indeed, but in 70% it is a problem, even if you set the IRQs manual in the BIOS... An example is the onboard sound that you refer too...
-
Good stuff those RAMs, only thing I don´t like about them is that they need 2.0-2.1volt to have those timings...

It’s not a low-level format what you are going to do. Did you try any of the tools we gave you? Moving this thread to the Hardware Hangout ...

Multi-Bay External HDD Enclosures

You can add a Firewire port to a PC when you have a free PCI slot. I personally would not buy a 1TB hard disk; they are more then twice as expensive as a 500GB hard disk if not 3 times as expensive. Check out the prices . -
Fist disable the onboard audio in the BIOS like DigeratiPrime told you (Use your users manual if you don’t know how to do it, if you don’t have one download it from the motherboard maker website). If that doesn’t work place the Soundcard in an other PCI-slot (Fastest way), it could be on the same IRQ as your VGA card for example. But, your hardware could been damaged, look for bad capacitors on your motherboard for example. I’ve seen it before, onboard sound doesn’t work any more and all that it’s connected to the PCI lanes also doesn’t work (100%).

I like to add that most video now have that build in to the GPU. On older cards they used it. When we look at the AMD site, we see in the specs that it has a dual VGA controller build in, so it should be working with 2 screens having different layout. It could be that MSI made there own BIOS that doesn’t support dual screens or that the DVI to VGA adaptor isn’t working for that card. Did you try the latest drivers from the MSI site? I remember that MSI sometimes does strange things with there drivers and BIOS.

ASUS is publishing some information on there site about PCI-E 1.0/1.1 cards being not compatible with some motherboards that have PCI-E 2.0 onboard.

arfaja, Thank you for this information.

Deep thoughts about shifting to Office 2007.
puntoMX replied to SwedenXP's topic in Microsoft Office
The Microsoft Office Standard 2007 or Microsoft Office Home and Student 2007 would be the best then, see what has the best price I would say. I use Microsoft Office Standard 2007 too on some of my computers (Some I still have 2003, not going to buy new licenses or upgrades). I wish it had no outlook so it would be even cheaper . -

It would help if you tell us what components you want to have in it, e.g. Word, Excel... If you go there site I think you can find all the info you need. -
Multi-Bay External HDD Enclosures

I checked out those prices in your country, first I want to say that they don’t sell the latest part over there and prices are a bit on the high side. A simple file server with a single core processor, 1000Mbit network interface, 1TB (2x500GB) Hard drives and 1GB RAM in a normal case (Antec) cost about 650 US$. I would check the Western Digital My Book™ World Edition™ II, I’m sure it’s cheaper, smaller and easier in use. Besides that, it looks great and works very well except for the "extra software" that comes with it (not needed to be installed to function). I don’t know if Newegg ships to your country but HAMMER myshare HN1200-1000 1TB 7200 RPM 8MB Cache Network Hard Drive would be a good buy if you read the reviews, people over there don’t like the Western Digital My Book World Edition II by the way... -

So, we need to know for example: - How many users are connected to it at the same time? - What kind of data will be used? - How much disk space you need? - How technical you are? - How much you like to spend on it? - ... …Did I forget something? --- EDIT --- The My Book Pro Edition II is just an external hard disk, and you need to use a computer to share it to the network. The one I linked, My Book™ World Edition™ II, has a build in network controller and server so it can be access from any place by just connecting it to the network switch. On the Western Digital page you can see we are talking about 799US$ for 2TB and 449US$ for 1TB, also more then one can be placed in a network. -

The MyBook from WDC is a small standalone file server as well, just with an embedded OS in it that can’t be modified (In general speaking). A self-build file server can be modified any time you want. There is no need to buy an OS for the fileserver; Linux will do fine in combination with a SAMBA server. It’s a bit more complicated but people in the Linux section can help you out on that. Another plus is that you can use the fileserver even as a gateway for internet and share printers with. If you were not technical, the best way would be the MyBook from WDC. -

Hi there, You are talking about a product that isn’t very popular. Most people would build there own file server for 400-450US$ that can go beyond 2TB or by Western Digital My Book™ World Edition™ II . Most controllers for hard disks won’t accept more then 2TB. We can help you to build a fileserver based on Linux that you can access directly by your network or Firewire from PC to PC. -
Zero filled I hope .

Hi there, you got a problem that I don’t want to have on my computer, this is why I personally hate Partition Magic because it’s doing some magic you don’t want. I found a program a few days ago but didn’t test it my self but it should be able to help you out. Download it here, it’s named TestDisk 6.8, Freeware and works on multiple OSes. Let us know if it helped .

MSI installer Problem (Norton Antivirus)
puntoMX replied to xtremee's topic in Malware Prevention and Security
No, it has nothing to do with the MSI install shield. It’s a bug in the older, read first public release, of the Norton suite. -
Well, it should work if you do the following: From the Tools menu, select Protection, and then Allow Users to Edit Ranges. This advanced option allows multiple users (for example, when working on a network) to update data in a well defined and private area. Each workbook user is allotted a range in the sheet with a unique password. I suppose you did this?
