  1. This driver is working fine on a fresh Windows 98 install. I couldn't do much of a test, since my USB-mouse doesn't work in safe-mode. I'm just a bit lazy when it comes to attaching PS/2 convertor-stuff. I made some screenshots: As you see, driver properly reads the Setup.bmp image. 1024x768 at 256 colors. Better than nothing.
  2. I have fixed some issues with the Nero Lite installer, concerning the Imaging libraries, needed by Nero CoverDesigner and VideoCD support. Also some missing regentries are added now. For English users, I now have also a seperate build available without the Dutch files -> 34.0 MB: Nero 7 Lite Project page
  3. OK, finally got around the so called DLL hell, I even managed to update the app to the newest version : Nero Lite 7.0.8.2 - Nero Burning Rom / Express - Nero Cover Designer - Nero WaveEditor - Nero Toolkit + MauSau Additional Audio Codecs included + Audio-skipping workaround included + Helpfiles included + Working VCD/SVCD support + Updated Anti-Virus included + FULLY CUSTOMISABLE Advanced installer without any bloat! Current limitations: - Nero Lite will only install on Windows XP for the time being. If no problems get reported, I'll look into making it Win2K compatible. - It's not possible to apply License data through Nero Lite Setup unattendly. Import your license data manually into the registry afterwards. Note + Evaluation Serial included (30-day trial valid through 5-1-2006) Installer is created with InnoSetup, standard unattended switch to use: /VERYSILENT. Expect more information on how to unattendly install only specific components, installation tasks etc, later this week. Download: Nero Burning Rom 7 Lite Project
  4. BTW what is the difference between Trial version and Update version? They are identical in filesize, so I suppose for Update you only need a serial, not a older version already installed and for Trial you don't need serial (for 30 days). Correct? I was struggling getting some File Association settings right. InnoSetup doesn't take care for this, so that took some extra time. The Nero Installer was ready for release today, until Nero Showed up with an updated installer. I didn't see any changes to MP3PRo.dll or anything about the Audio CD skipping problem in newest Nero, so I'll keep included the mp3Pro workaround.
  5. Yes, you are right. I'll have to repackage the stuff even with my own customized installe when Nero updates the application. However since I have the whole project documented, I only have to update some files and meaby add some regentries. Most stuff of Nero 7 is copied straight over from Nero 6 so underhood there isn't change much in several years. Just an enormous bloat is added I can tell most of the Custom Nero installer is done (95%). Only some file associations and meaby some reordening of components is left. I ship out the installer for free this weekend Setup filesize is just under 41 MB Installation footprint: 40 MB minimal* - 92 MB maximal** *Including Nero Burning Rom only **Including Nero Burning Rom, Nero CoverDesigner, Nero Toolkit Nero WaveEditor + AudioPlugins and VideoCD/SVCD Support and complete help.
  6. You can use InstallRite or any other Application monitor to install Nero, however you still have the mess of DX filters, Nero Scout and a large installer. Even worse you have to do the whole process over and over for every new update of Nero
  7. Hi, here's some report on my custom Nero installation project. The Setup contains so far: Nero Burning Rom / Express Nero CoverDesigner Nero Audio Plugins Nero Toolkit + MauSau Audio Plugins (Ogg, RM, Lame MP3, and more) + Replaced mp3Pro with older Nero 6 build (audio skipping problem) + Nero (S)VCD-Video support + Complete Help included I finally sorted out all Plug-in stuff. Now only things to implement is: Necessary regentries File associations Nero Wave Editor Complete build with full Dutch/English support will be roughly 50 MB. Half the size of the original. I'll also bring out a lite pack, with only Nero Burning Rom and Basic audio plugins with a download size of about 25 MB.
  8. You might try this: $savdir = @ProgramFilesDir & "\Sophos" Notice the backslash
  9. Here's an work-in-progress of my custom Nero Setup Installer project: I sorted out most of the shared system files Nero uses, also divided Nero into components, so installation footprint will shrink down very much I'm still working on Nero Filter support for VCD/SVCD creation and necessary regentries to be created. More will follow soon
  10. Hi, latest Nero 7.0.5.4 update is just the whole installer (it's over 100 MB) Simply use your purchased license info to install this burning application
  11. Roufneck, thanks for creating this tool. I hope you could benefit from the batchfile I wrote, originally idea was to somewhat automate driver compression and for myself to learn all Dos Batch functionality. Problems I currently experience with my own batch compressor is flexibility in code management. Every change to the code can break the program very easily. I recommmend developers to start using a code language more flexible than batch scripting, especially for larger projects
  12. I'm creating a new installer for it. I'm not longer working on any MSI, so you are free to work on it.
  13. I'm rebuilding installation at the moment. I'll try to put all necessary stuff into a Inno Setup Package since managing MSI takes way too much time to implement for every new version of Nero Burning ROM.
  14. NERO BURNING ROM 7.0.1.4b NL Package contains: Nero Burning Rom Nero Cover Designer Nero Toolkit Complete Help (Both ENG+NLD) - Shortcut group is created in Start Menu - Shortcut to Nero Express is added to Desktop Download: Unavailable at the moment You can apply license information afterwards using regkey, or by entering keydata manual on Nero startup. Now if someone could post necessary DirectShow filters to keep for VCD and SVCD creation, I will bring out 2 packs for Dutch and English users.
  15. The only things left for removal is the Windows 9x stuff (everything labeled on _9x and CD95) and we are done P.S. You need ImageExpress Component for at least CoverDesigner. You don't need it if you use Nero Burning ROM only
  16. My workaround for now is to dualboot between Windows 98 and Windows XP having 2 harddiscs, a Seagate 40 GB and a Maxtor 250 GB. My Maxtor 250 GB is formatted as NTFS to make sure Windows 98 won't ever write to it.
  17. I tried out the new nVidia 81.98 English drivers for Windows XP and they work fine. Final footprint is 8,03 MB, against 22,2 MB of the original files (compressed). Meaby you can use them. Thanks for all bug reports. When I have finished Dutch translations of RyanVM's Update Pack and Unofficial Windows 98SE Service Pack 2.1a I'll have time to look at it. Anybody tried latest ATI Catalyst drivers yet? I have not received any user feedback so far about this..
  18. Can't you just wait with a new thread before everything is ready? Some professionalism would make the project better.
  19. I was wrong about downloading after june 30 2006. I assume Microsoft only keeps the documentation online. You better start downloading and backing up stuff now.
  20. You can store alll these files on local HDD or CD-ROM. There is no reason to download those files over and over again
  21. Microsoft extended support will end on 30 june 2006. After that all existing updates and information will be available for download for at least 1 year. I don't know about Windows Update. However there will get no new critical updates released to patch vulnerabilities, and you can't acquire any hotfixes from Microsoft from that point.
  22. Sorry I haven't tested this fix yet, but I have an important question. Can anyone tell if KB891711.exe shows up in the Task list after pressing CTRL-ALT-DEL, using this patch? It's important for me to have it hidden, so people won't kill it accidently and getting BSOD's.
  23. A little reminder: Paint Shop Pro 10.02 update is out. Nice to see it's an MSP patch, so not that hard to apply to an existing installation source However I can't seem to manage to create a proper installation source using the Corel Paint Shop Pro X Trial, so I apply both 10.01 and 10.02 afterwards. The total installation time of my unattended cd is increasing fast now (over 30 minutes)
  24. I'm currently using Windows 98 as hobby project, dualboot next to Windows XP Professional (Main OS) specs: AMD Athlon XP 1800+ 1533 MHz Asus A7V333 (VIA KT333 chipset) 256 MB DDR-RAM 2700 PoV nVidia Geforce4 Ti4200 64MB Seagate Barracuda 4 40 GB (7200 RPM) Maxtor Diamond Max 10 250 GB (7200 RPM) Lite-On 52x32x52 CD-Burner LG GSA-4163B DVD-Burner Medion 7134 Saa7134 TV-Tuner Logitech UltraX keyboard (Very nice ) Logitech Optical Wheelmouse Logitech Driving Force Pro () Acer AL712 17" TFT-screen Labtec 1016 speakers I'm looking for some new system, meanwhile buying extra stuff so I have double now
  25. Not a very interesting fix. Meaby just changing the resource will do for most people
