UPDATE: French Version available now!
-
I've tried to replace english by french, but still the same error message Regards, Kal Kal, you can contact me directly through PM. Just give me some time to answer. If you can give me a translation I can maintain the installer, not just for Nero 7.0.8.2 but also future updates. No need to decompile current installer which can cause errors, since it isn't just a plain Inno Setup Script

MavericksChoice, Invisible GR and others, please keep on topic for the Nero Lite installer. You can discuss MSI-based installer in other topic: http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=59483 UPDATE: New downloadmirror added: http://nerolite.lieblingsbesuch.de/

Hi Tihiy. Is your RPLite 5 project going to be also available for other languages than English? I find it amazing to see you create such stuff for an ancient OS. Do you document these patches for future usage? BTW, Windows XP has also old scool graphics (16color bootscreen)

UPDATE: 24 march 2006 - Updated Nero CDSpeed to 4.50 and Nero InfoTool to 4.03 - Fixed unattended install for usage on T12 - Fixed Language selection problem from within Nero Burning Rom - Added option to create Quick Launch icon for Nero Express - Branded Installer with Copyright and URL to my homesite (notice I have to update it ) New languages available: German and Norwegian Big Thanks for Setup Translators: rh-phoenix - German translation Gyppie - Norwegian translation
-
Current Nero Lite doesn't provide an option for Quicklaunch Icon yet. Meaby I'll add it in.
-
uhm, can't you just use the language packs? I still need some parts of the Setup Wizards to get translated and some other strings from the setup. I won't bring out incomplete packages. Your method is useful if you also need Nero Vision, or other Nero tools. However if you only use Nero for Burning Purposes you are best out with the Nero Lite installer.

Thank you ZileXa BTW, a reminder. If you would like to help translating Nero Lite please contact me. It's really not hard work.

The files with an underscore at the end are compressed Cab files. When you manually compress all files except inf in a cab-file, you have the problem some Driver Setups cannot succeed or won't install properly. You have to test this out manually for drivers that Driver Compressor currently can't handle.

Ok, I found out the very useful Windows Installer vbs scripts from the SDK. With WiMakCab.vbs it's become very easy to recompress MSI packages. See also http://windowssdk.msdn.microsoft.com/libra...ile_cabinet.asp. I sucessfully applied this method to an administrative install point I created for .NET 1.1 with SP1 and security update merged into it. Altough size becomes a few MB's bigger than using a 7-zip package, setup doesn't have to extract all files at once anymore. This can save some speed when deploying software. But the biggest advantage is that users can restore, or install extra feautures through the Software Configuration Panel
-
I was wondering if this method can be used also for other MSI packages. For example I created an customized Adminstrative Installation Point for Paint Shop Pro X and I would like to compress these files back into a CABINET file. However I stumbled across many MSI editors, but none of them can recompress the updated files into a cabinet file! Bookmarked

New Paint Shop Pro 10.03 update is out. Standard MSP format included. Notice these are not cumulative updates, so you need to apply these patches in chronological order to your installation source. Please note you can't slipstream these updates into TRIAL distributions for download. You still need to copy over some files from the RETAIL package of Corel Paint Shop Pro X. You can do this for personal usage though
-
The Nero Installer for Demo and Retail packages is the same. You can use a valid key. Please apply regtweaks afterwards. Standard a shortcut group 'Nero' is placed in Menu Start. When giving the parameter /TASKS="desktopicon" a shortcut to Nero Express is placed on Desktop. If you don't want a shortcut group created you can use the switch /NOICONS I consider this project as done so far concerning Components. Nero StartSmart isn't that hard to implement, altough I don't think it's very useful compared to Nero Express.
-
please, how did you fix it? I replaced mp3PRo.dll build 2.0.5.1 with older build 2.0.4.7 from Nero Burning Rom 6.6.0.18.

I have opened a new topic for Nero 7 Lite. For those people only need Nero Rom to Burn Look here.

137GB limit - ESDI_506.PDR and other limits

Tested some more. My motherboard: VIA KT333 supports UDMA properly in Dos 7.1 (Windows 98) without any extra drivers. When I disable UDMA in BIOS for my HDD, I'm back to PIO-mode. MDGX, on what hardware do you use the QDMA driver? -

Acheron replied to Petr's topic in Windows 9x Member Projects
I was testing a bit with the DOS Device Drivers, especially the ones used by MDGX in his ultimate search for free system resources: http://www.mdgx.com/mem7.htm I noticed the new released QDMA driver which finally seems to work properly in combination with UMBPCI.sys and Windows 98SE Also QCDROM is optimized: config.sys ; Load DOS HIGH + enable DOS UMA (Upper Memory Area): DOS=HIGH,UMB,AUTO ; UMBPCI.SYS v3.65 Upper MEMory Extender [enables UMA]: DEVICE=C:\MAX\UMBPCI.SYS QDMA DOS UltraDMA Disk Driver DEVICEHIGH=C:\MAX\QDMA.SYS /O /D /F ; QCDROM.SYS universal MS-DOS mode IDE/ATAPI CD/DVD driver: DEVICEHIGH=C:\MAX\QCDROM.SYS /D:CDRW /D:DVDROM /UF To avoid MS-DOS compatibility mode warnings in Windows you need to add the following lines to the [safeList] section in Windows\Ios.ini qdma.sys; QDMA DOS UltraDMA Disk Driver Have fun -
Current Nero 7 demo key: 1C83-7610-10E5-477X-4014-M6C9-4CM8 This one is for 30 day trial until May 1st 2006. I'm not sure what it might be. Meaby some regentries were left in Current User Profile which might conflict with the keys Nero Lite installer created in Local Machine Profile. Currently InnoSetup doesn't have an option to choose install for the Current User only. You might try to to delete the HKCU\Software\Ahead reg key.
-
Nope, but there is always Menu Start in Windows containing shortcut links. You might try to use Nero Express to start working on a cd project.

Updated Anti-Virus plugin contains DrWeb Anti-Virus definitions bases (approx. 2 MB) for usage within Nero Burning Rom. Normally you have to update the Anti-Virus scanner manually through Help menu. Very useful when you need to backup files from a spyware/virus infected pc
-
That is fantistic. BTW, how to change the one-month reg file to my own? You can use so called reg tweaks to modify userdata/license info: Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ahead\Installation\Families\Nero 7\Info] "Company"=YourCompanyNameHere" "User"="YourUserNameHere" "Serial"="XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX"
