Thanks for the installer. Here's the changelog for Flashget 1.82:
-
You can use ToDoList to keep track of your projects. I have to try it for myself yet but the screen shots look promising to me.
-
I hope that in a future version of nLite a history is kept from what hotfixes are integrated. Then you will be able to revert any changes made by hotfixes, to original Windows state.
-
I think nLite should automaticly prevent WMP 6.4 files from deletion if you are integrating Windows Media Player 10 or 11 into the installation. To prevent some stuff from deletion will probably reduce the number of reports of broken installations.
-
I would like for nLite 1.4 to extend it's Hotfix integration support to more exotic hotfixes: KB892211 KB893803 KB896344 KB918997 KB922120 KB926464 KB927977 KB927978 KB931836 SafeDisc Windows XP Fix for Microsoft Games Also integration support for Windows Messenger 5.1 would be nice to replace Windows Messenger 4.7.
-
I think it's a bit confusing to new users to have that many stickies. Meaby it's an idea to have only one sticky with links within it to all active projects, plus description what each project is about.

looking for maximus-decim's BigHDD package
Acheron replied to krick's topic in Windows 9x Member Projects
I was looking for Maximus packages and found also newer BigHDD 3.0: http://rapidshare.com/files/5999772/bhdd30e.zip.html -
The only time you will get a 5305 error is when your demo is expired. Remember you have to buy a Nero 7 license for Nero Burning Rom to work more than 30 days.

Hi xper, I have a question about saving PM automaticly in Sent items. Why is this option removed? Fixed

Hi nitro323, Thanks for Universal Extractor. I use it now on regular base to extract most of my archives. I have requested several times some exe-unpackers, but I understand Universal Extractor is not ment to deal with these files anyway. I have switched to Quick Unpack for unpacking exe's now. For everything else Universal Extractor is what I use.

Multisession should be supported for burning CD's/DVD's. You cannot create multi-session CD-ROM iso's using the Image Recorder, thats why this tab is disabled. In order to create multi-session cd/dvds you have to use a real CD/DVD-burner. This has nothing to do with Nero Lite.

There are still a lot of people active for Windows 98. For example I am working on some Windows 98 from Scratch project, but such a huge project takes time to set up. I am now stumbling with SubVersion to keep track of all files. I have so far succesfully modularized MDAC and JET. In a few weeks I can publish some more info.
-
I have told many times Nero Lite doesn't need StartSmart. You can use Nero Express, which is a very easy program to do advanced burning tasks. If you don't need WaveEditor or CoverDesigner you can use Nero Micro. If you still prefer Nero StartSmart go to the official Nero website and download the 190 MB package.
-
Exactly. I think I'll switch to Infra Recorder too when it becomes stable. I'll keep on working on Nero 7 Lite until Nero 8 comes out nevertheless.

Has anyone taken a look at Win9x' networking components?
Acheron replied to BenoitRen's topic in Windows 9x/ME
Neil is very knowledgable and pretty neutral on these things, so I trust his judgment. Then why ask questions on MSFN when you already have your answers -

Acheron replied to BenoitRen's topic in Windows 9x/ME
The problem isn't Windows 98. Remember a few years ago almost everything securtiy related released by Microsoft was due to Internet Explorer or Windows Service Problems. Since Windows 98 doesn't run any services by default there were only few security related problems specific. Most issues are patched so far. The only one I know so far left is an issue with NetBIOS: http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showto...amp;hl=security -
elajua, so far you have been the only one that reports this issue. I can not reproduce the error. You might check if you have some other programs conflicting with Nero. The creation of a debug.txt file is now considered a minor issue. If you can provide a workaround for it I can add it to Nero 7 Lite.
-
Nero 7 Micro is only Nero Burning Rom + Express and Basic Audio and Video-plugins. Nero 7 Lite features exotic Audio plugins (MauSau), Nero CoverDesigner + Labelflash support, Nero WaveEditor and Nero Toolkit. Most people would want to go for Nero 7 Micro I think.

process.exe is not a virus. It's the only foolproof method to make sure nero.exe is closed during installation. See also http://www.beyondlogic.org/solutions/proce...processutil.htm for more information about this wonderful program.

I have updated Nero 7 Lite to fix most of Windows Vista compatibility issues. Nero 7 Lite v7.7.5.1 Revision 1.7.2.2 changes: Added workaround for Nero activation (FATAL ERROR when using DEMO key) Improved Windows Vista installation support. Improved automatic language selection Minor fixes Please visit my site for links to download. Localized versions are available. I will update this opening post later. The previous thread is locked because of too much offtopic talk. Please report only problems with updated Nero 7 Lite in this topic. Previous topic with information about unattended setup

Here is some news. I had big trouble with Nero activation module. The Nero setup makes use of some internal activation mechanism from within the setup. Without this activation you get the FATAL error warning. To workaround this issue I have included a valid serial. The Demo key doesn't work on first run. This key is only used during Nero 7 installation and won't be visible to the user. After installation Nero uses the default Demo key. Nero 7 Lite will work as a Demo as expected. Some clever users can grab the key by monitoring the installation program, but its very unlikely that people using illegal Nero versions would go through this proces. I hope MSFN will understand this and make an exception for me this time. I have some reports from users unable to burn using the Nero 7 Micro version. I tested DVD-burning with latest version and it seems ok, but if errors still exist when I release updated version I will take a look at it.

Free 1 year Trial Anti-Virus work's with Vista
Acheron replied to maxXPsoft's topic in Unattended Windows Vista/Server 2008
If you are using Windows Vista with default settings I don't know why you would like to use a virusscanner. As long as you don't download warez there's not much that can infiltrate the system unnoticed. The era that you needed virusscanners and such is over. -
Update: I have managed to run Nero 7 Lite now on Windows Vista. The problem is that you're not working as an Administrator by default in Windows Vista, so registering AdvrCntr2.dll fails and most of the registry data is written to Current User account instead of the Local Machine account. I'm working on a fix now. P.S. I have gotten reports back that some people were not able to download Nero 7 Lite from my site. I have taken some counter measures to fight against some malicious attacks on the server. If a lot of people are affected I will take a look at it.

I have managed to install a copy of Windows Vista 32-bit myself now into VMWARE. Nero 7 doesn't work indeed, but remember this is actually my first release of Nero 7 Lite for Windows Vista. I now can test more quickly to hopefully solve this issue as fast as possible.
