All I know, is that XP is good for at least a year installation without getting so pokey it's unbearable. with the exception of adware, that is with win95, I used to format twice a year once I figured out how to do it. that way the operating system got cleaned and wasn't as pokey seems to me win9x stuffed it'self up so bad. Then again, that was 95, I never really ran 98 went from 95 to ME to XP yeah yeah, I know, ME sucks. I liked it, but you had to be picky about drivers if you wanted it stable

I'm trying to do a spanish cd for a friend the same problem occurs, no user is created, I'm not even sure the cmdlines.txt is running I suspect the cmdlines.txt needs a different name in spanish

Oh my, I C now what bootney is about I don't mind working and searching, I'd say I have about 2 weeks or better into my unattended. My first try took at least 6 hours and I've been tweaking and modifying since It's worth it, but sometimes when you feel like you're banging your head against a wall looking for something that you KNOW has to be there and it's hiding, that's when I go nuts See, that's what happens when you try to do stuff after working all day. Now, just one more question regarding this tweak. Should it be run at the time cmdlines.txt runs, or at the GuiRunOnce time?

although I'm sure some people are "distributing" said technology without permission but I'd say there's a good chance they'll get caught know what 3 hots and a cot are? know the rules to avoid the above

yep yep, isn't it grand? I just use my DVD to install everything, and put the config files on a floppy so they are ez to edit for usernames, serials etc
-
well, it was all my bad bad I was searching for quicklaunch where quick or launch would have been better I was getting all mad because I was trying to read that tweak file line for line till my eyes went so now I can finally go to sleep
-
I know it's the tweak I'm looking for, I just wanted to make SURE it's formatted correctly as the forum added line breaks and I edited to try to make it correct. Just don't want to redo if I don't have to, thanks :-)

^_^ replied to kurt476's topic in Unattended Windows 2000/XP/2003
Cool, I didn't want it to run on my existing system, so now I un-rar in and can see the codes -
That's a good one, but now I'm having a problem with it not making the My Pictures folder and stuff, so I guess I'll try the code on page 3 can somebody check out the attached file and see if it's correct?

why is the regtweaks file an exe? I'd rather have a batch so I can look at it -
I'm so sick of people giving no answer but to use the search function I swear they just do it to up their post count. lazy smammers
-
what "ignorance" are you speaking of? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> the part about win98 not being able to log onto a domain
-
Connect to a domain? No roflmaopoe I love when people show their true ignorance anyways, I run XP and lots of my customers run 98 both are succeptable to virii, adware and trojans Yes, XP is more stable For some things 98 is faster, but not enough to really measure, especially if you get rid of some of the bloat in XP such as that assinine restore feature, what a hog

Not sure about these Registry tweaks!
^_^ replied to xy16644's topic in Unattended Windows 2000/XP/2003
well, this is what I've found after searching google No, I didn't find it on msfn with the search button as who would have known to search for IntelliMenus and the key wasn't explained as to what it would do. so thanks to all of you for telling me to search and not bother helping at all. it's so frustrating to be yelled at to search when the search terms that would make sense to me don't return results but at http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/package_one.htm they are saying it's the registry key p = "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced\" p = p & "IntelliMenus" itemtype = "REG_SZ" n = "No" so I'd assume the correct entry that indeed was in the registry tweak file is: [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced] "IntelliMenus"=dword:00000000 So now I can rest easy knowing I figured it all out myself -
well, maybe the laptop is just a piece of crapola then send me your VLK, and I'll make you an ISO to test my methods and see if that works on your laptop

I'd love to just laugh like crazy about that last question, I'm sure we all know what he's up to. my suspicion is that he updated something, otherwise he'd not be having these problems ie if he tried it on the desktop, it would do the same thing. check the autologin script and reg file if that's what you are using for your accounts gotta be some error there whether it's a copy error or what who knows. do you have the oemprecopy enabled? or are you scripted to run from the D:\ drive?
-
Anyone here know how to backup my GameCube rom disks? I googled, and it looks like it's possible, but they are talking another language something about mod chips, mini dvd and all kinds of other crapola any help would be appreciated, as my kids will eventually destroy the games I have, and I'd like to make copies, and store the original away
-
all he has to do is run the setupmgr, put the file on a floppy, set the computer to boot from cdrom, and have that floppy inserted while loading windows that's the beginner way
-
but why? Dell is selling new laptops in that pricerange that are faster and NEW my offer stands at $200
