  2. http://www.foxitsoftware.com/pdf/editor/ dont know if the trial or '6 month' licenses are limited functionally.
  3. I have only tried to hunt down a couple of the flags, but more out of curiosity (wth is that?) than altruistic thoughts of helping others at times most convenient to them. If an href like the "view member profile" over the user uploaded image is easily done throughout, that would totally meet a demand I had like twice. **You'd need proper names, trying to guess the abbreviated filenames is equally as tough as trying to type a description of the flag into google. I would have never got rp.gif if you hadnt filled out the from section.

  5. 1) right click on your cd drive 2) go to sharing and security 3) share it (change the name from the drive letter to 'CD' making it easily idenitfiable) 4) open my network places 5) go to Add a network place 6) browse to your computer and you should see the share folder 'CD' available for selection
  6. I would recommend looking through vista examples as much of the syntax is the same. I had much more success going that route.
  7. ...im hoping he googles runonceex, comes back around to the msfn unattended guide, maybe builds a $$ structure and throws the installer in there and has a mess load of fun learning along the way. suppose he could flip directly to the end. http://unattended.msfn.org/unattended.xp/v...3b005d1205756c/
  8. i throw it in the runonceex.
  9. Really? Copylock detects as a replacer trojan? Seeing how the description is 'will replace in-use and system files' its shocking that it would detect as a malicious tool that performs a similar function, albeit surreptitiously. And revealpw showing as a hacktool gets my same feigned amazement.
  10. That is just one of the many reg keys that will alter how long the SCM/system waits for "hung" services/applications, the following link has many more. Though getting a dumpfile from the shutdown is a better option as you could identify the culprit rather than just muzzling it. http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/26476...s-combined.html
  11. The most generic Live! 5.1 i could find: http://ccftp.creative.com/manualdn/Drivers...B_2_03_0005.exe downloaded that driver extracted with 7zip I think you want the contents of .\Drivers\wdm\win2k_xp\amd64\ Seems they enjoy identifying drivers by names (5.1 Live gamer) vs the model (SB0200) and I cant determine which you have exactly.
  12. do you have an ! in device manager? do you have an unpacked set of the drivers (as opposed to the exe from creative)? if not, i would see if uniextract or 7zip can unpack the exe. then If so, you should be able to right click and update the driver and point it to use the unpacked files. If this method fails, what errors is it returning if any?
  13. this tip is hella-useful and should be stickied. And since you are so versed why not offer up other clsids or links to other similar references rather than nothing of substance. Really, you do realize all you have said "dont call anything that name, that name is reserved for something that does not exist!" - and that statement is borderline retarded.
  14. Would have never guessed this quote came from 2010....
  15. unrelated, but hilarious that directly underneath it says 'please read the rules, folks" in large font. Though I imagine he is mistaking forefront/defender-ish type software for security essentials. Cant think anyone would burden themselves mass rolling that out when the others are so easy.
  16. arent ya'll first? you let us know if anything goes down....
  17. I would certainly ask HOW questions. Knowing the basics of adding a user to AD, OUs, and GPs is fun and all, but determining resourcefulness and gauging how the person works through issues will prove invaluable. I would certainly include some logic questions just to make sure your candidate is not taking stabs by half-reading posts returned from a google search. That person will likely screw your network more times than save it. Maybe not as in detail as http://www.west.net/~stewart/lwfaq.htm#1, but along those lines. (again, this would be in addition to the AD issues) I would also pose that you would like a custom, stripped, XP install; and see how many come back with Nlite as an answer. ***and eliminate them immediately from consideration, for many reasons*** (guarantee that weeds some candidates that think they are the best googlers ever)
  18. If you have a license that includes software assurance: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windows_Funda..._for_Legacy_PCs a gig is still stretching it though
  19. Not intending to hijack but... whats with UBCD? I hadnt noticed the lack of threads, but I didnt realize there was in issue with discussing it. I was under the impression that it was the legit option of the lot.
  20. Unless you have a copy of the audio that is tracked out you probably wont be completely successful, but 'Audacity' is free on sourceforge and does allow some quieting. I would recommend searching for CD+G versions of the songs/albums in question as that label is generally indicative of karaoke discs.
  21. http://www.discountelectronics.com/ These guys sell pretty much old dell stuff exclusively (i imagine it has something to do with the close proximity of Dell HQ) but they have C series for $199 and bonus floppy for $9.
  22. what does any of that have to do with obtaining digital copies of southpark legally, remember...the original question? Ya'll should start a separate thread where you can all convince each other that the legal usage of the torrent protocol outweighs the non.
  23. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...ptre%2040" imho, when 1080p 40" is $499, I could not bring myself to spend a G more for 6 additional square inches and 2.5ms off my wait time. I realize sceptre is probably not comparable in brand name. However, since few players exist in LCD fabrication (the actual panels) I liken the market to CD-Rs; where there are surely horrible lots that come off the assembly, but those lots get distributed amongst many vendors so you might as well by the cheap stuff from a store with an excellent exchange/refund program. There are fanboy forums where people jock certain sets of serials from certain vendors, much like the love given to Mitsui Toatsu CD-Rs. Probably have to do a bit more digging to see which manufacturers ship to which brands, at the moment my google skills are teh suck.
  24. CPU/GPU fabrication seems much more the land of electrical engineering, what about beginning integrated circuits and such.... Many small kits you can order online come with small projects to build with transistors and logic gates. Ahhh, the joys of working many hours to get the leds to alternate on your rudimentary racecar. **You listed things that lean much more towards IT administration.
  25. Thats a bit generic, imho what hardware specifically do you intend on designing? Your original post could extend its reach from fabricating computer cases to sitting around on pricewatch buying cheap parts to build systems for an entity that appreciates your A- skills, but its probably neither
