  1. thanks! Name = mysubfolder, 0x6 works! Now I only have one more problem left..
  2. for an installer, am using ProfileItems as well to create Shortcuts, but I want my .INF to have an Uninstall section as well. The INF file is only used to create shortcuts. (its for a very easy installer that only need to do few things, the most efficient way for this is to use a batchfile. But I create the shortcuts with an INF file since there is no nice way to do it with batchfiles (The shortcuts must be created correctly for every Windows language, also Greek and French etc. Start menu\programs uses strange accents and stuff for these and other languages.. thats why INF is very handy for this.) But when uninstalling, these shortcuts need to be removed.... can't find any documentation about this ;This file will create the Shortcuts [Version] Signature = $Windows NT$ ;---------------------------------------------------------- ;INSTALL SHORTCUTS ;---------------------------------------------------------- [DefaultInstall] ProfileItems = Shortcut.guide, Shortcut.rebuild [Shortcut.guide] Name = "Guide" SubDir= mysubfolder WorkingDir = 16422 CmdLine = 16422,"mysubfolder","Guide.pdf" [Shortcut.rebuild] Name = "rebuild" SubDir= mysubfolder WorkingDir = 16422 CmdLine = 16422,"mysubfolder", Rebuild.exe InfoTip = "blahblah" [DefaultUninstall] <-- this part doesn't work like this... Profileitems = del.subfolder [del.subfolder] Name = mysubfolder,0x00000004
  3. The RunPostSetupCommands or RunPreSetupCommands only works for specific cases? [Version] Signature = $Windows NT$ [DefaultInstall] ProfileItems = Shortcut.test RunPreSetupCommands=RunSetupCommands [DefaultUninstall] ProfileItems = del.shortcuts RunPostSetupCommands=RunSetupCommands [Shortcut.test] Name = "test" SubDir= cds WorkingDir = 16422 CmdLine = 16422,"cds","test" [del.shortcuts] Name = test,0x6 [RunSetupCommands] cmd.exe /C SETUP.cmd ;<--- this command doesn't execute Doesn't work. (right-clicking the inf file and selecting install). I actually also tested with an .exe file, doesnt get executed Shortcut is created.
  4. The easiest way: on your current pc, uninstall flash, go to the Firefox\Plugins folder, now look at that folder while you run the Flash Installer, you'll see a few new files in that folder! copy them to your 7z or rar or whatever archive that is extracted during uA setup. Check it for yourself to be sure, current Flash version only has these files in Opera/Mozilla (Firefox) Plugins folder: GetFlash.exe GetFlash.exe.manifest NPSWF32.dll
  5. wow ok so I thought msietub.exe or startX wasn't needed and tried this: ;!@Install@!UTF-8! Title="Shockwave" Progress="no" ExecuteFile="msiexec.exe" ExecuteParameters="/i shockwave.msi /qn" ;!@InstallEnd@! did the copy command and tested: after extracting it says cannot find Setup.exe. And I don't think it will work since it will try to find msiexec.exe in the 7z extracted folder..
  6. If it would include Toolkit+Helpfiles and Coverdesigner I would love it perhaps if you are planning to release 2 versions, one 'burning-only', I hope with toolkit+coverdesigner, and a larger one for those who want the extra options like wave editing and recode and whatever. btw, why did you stop using savefile.com? they had some trouble with their overloaded servers but they have new servers now. Perhaps you also want to checkout yourfreewebspace.com (formerly known as free-webster.com) its a good webhost, no filesizelimit (tested with 142mb file), no bandwithlimit and 400mb space +ftp ofcourse.
  7. hahaha you know, I was actually considering hacking explorer.exe to make the taskbar shorter (1/3 of the screens edge) + remove the part where opened programs are shown because I would like to use a Dock for this. This thought came in my mind because I just cannot create a nice taskbar with Objectbar... and I haven't found an alternative..
  8. Wow massive update! Great! Thanks! btw, rapidshare is very annoying... luckily it is not your main downloadsite. but for a good mirror you might want to check out savefile.com. You can create your own project (+description) with its files(+description) and no ads for example checkout my shockwave silent installer downloadpage.
  9. OK Good news about Silent Shockwave installer. To have shockwave for Mozilla-based browsers, simply make sure the following 2 files will be placed in the folder "program files\Mozilla Firefox\Plugins": np32dsw.dll ShockwavePlugin.class I have added them to my downloadpage for Shockwave Silent Installer. Ofcourse u can simply use the silent Shockwave installer Shark007 has given in the first post. Mine is exactly same but without progressbar.
  10. USE THE SEARCH! you would have found a topic about this already, djeez how hard is it? ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- pff why all the trouble: FLASH: Flash does NOT need to be installed by an installer! its just a few files you should copy to the correct directories (for Firefox/Opera its the Plugins dir, for IE, just do some research). Why use an installer if you can just zip the files and extract them during you uA setup? SHOCKWAVE: if you just go to the official Shockwave site, you'll see the version you need: http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/download/ and you can install this silently, will work perfect BUT WITH YAHOO TOOLBAR! Just as the following: no reason to use this since the official installers can do the same! and it also comes with.... Yahoo toolbar! in this topic, as provided earlier, you will find an installer for Shockwave WITHOUT Yahoo! Toolbar: Shark007 's Shockwave installer (with progressbar): Shockwave/Flash @T-13, switchless installers BUT, during install you will see a progress bar (7zip unpacking.), if you want it to be completely silent without the progressbar, I modified the installer easily, it is exactly the same but without the progressbar. Check my post about it in the same topic. and here is the download link. Shark007's Shockwave Silent (quiet - no progressbar) installer Also I recommend you checkout my latest post in that topic. Shockwave Silent installer Downloadpage No Flash installer because flash doesnt need to be installed, just extracting.
  11. Hey Alanoll, I have been using the same INI file since the first msi release. But since v5.21 it doesn't install the Library and doesn't select my skin, I get the classic winamp2 skin.... it did work before! here is my ini: [SETUP] Xlibrary=1 Xshout=1 Xpm=1 Xhotkey=1 Xjump=1 Xmodernskin=1 Xaudio=1 Xvideo=1 Xvisual=1 Xextra=1 Xregopt=1 XSkinsetting=Moon_Groove XDesktop=0 XQuicklaunch=0 XStartmenu=0 XINET=0 XREGAUD=1 XREGVID=0
  12. pfff everyone could post his/her Ner-favorites list... but the point of Nero Lite (I think!) is to create a version of Nero installer that IS a burning tool... user friendly, stable and burns everything.. Especially for things as Imagedrive and BackItUp there are waaaaay better solutions... same goes for Soundtrax I guess and also WaveEditor but hey if Hp38user needs Waveeditor I can understand why it is included. StartSmart, well thats just taste I guess, to me it seems bloated, especially for a Burning-only app it seems it isnt needed, Nero Express is cleaner and does te same. and Burnrights?? Nero Vision & Nero Recode, why not edit the msi then... if you need this (its for dvd to mpeg4 or dvd9 to dvd5 right? for this last task there are other options like dvdshrink and DVDrebuilder). I hope the current Nero Lite will stay as Lite or even be a little more Lite
  13. Oooh! Well although it works fine this way, your new method is A LOT cleaner ofcourse! thanks a lot! you seem to know something about Startmenu tweaking... do you know if it is possible to create "Videos" below "Music"? (check the image).
  14. I am curious, does anyone know a method to add a custom item to the RIGHT pane? I have My Documents My images Music My Computer NOTICE: I dont have MY Music! "Music" is not a personal folder, just the folder for every user. Now I also want to have "Videos" but wether I put it in the registry or not it doesnt show in the Startmenu!
  15. Unfortunately, it seems it isn't installed for Firefox...
  16. My uA cd is installed within 36 minutes, installing all software WITH all settings the way I want.. so I guess it is an uA repair CD It depends on how far you go with the meaning of "Unattended". Some people just install Windows and few other things. I install windows, apply A LOT of regtweaks to set windows exactly like I would have done manually (perhaps even more). Same goes for the settings of apps. for what you are doing, it seems my cd is the solution Once the cd is done, I can do everything I want, just as I did 36 min ago before I inserted the CD. Only have to give the SSID of my wireless network + wpa2 key. Thats all. I use it on every pc whereever I go.
  17. spam? don't see the benefit of searchbars.. perhaps if you like ugly bloated bars and use IE. I prefer a clean look, and no IE.
  18. [quote][CDImage]when u rightclick a folder you will have 2 context menu (right click menu) entries.. MakeDataISO & MakeBootISO both of the images will place an entry in %systemdrive% (usually C:\) called either DataISO or BootISO (previous entries will be overwritten) [mount] when u rightclick an image file (.iso;.bin;.cue;.ccd) u will have an option to Mount your iso in a virtual drive (by default this uses 1 virtual drive)[/quote] Unfortunately, MOUNT doesn't work, I get an error window with the message: "Second quote not found in command line switch" I am sure this error comes from Daemon Tools since the error message has a blue Daemontools icon in the taskbar. Who can help?
  19. I think you should read the unattended guide a few times. you should configure the sfx (or use 7za.exe, command line version of 7z, make sure the file is in system32 (-->again, read the guide for howto), then use a .cmd file that commands 7za.exe to extract them to correct location) to extract to %allusersprofile%\start menu\ or whatever your start menu is called (in Dutch it is 'menu start' dont know why..). I recommend you first delete the contents of the start menu. this makes it independent of any partition you install.
  20. the switch works fine, but when I think about it, the overrides.ini file is a much cleaner and more efficient method. and btw, the default profile is actually a very save method. If I install a new FF version, then create a new windows user account, go to this account and start firefox, he still gets the nice default profile. Even better: firefox checks for updates for the extensions and themes in the users profile and updates it to make them compatible! So it seems to be a robust method. And if I want to update the default profile for a new uA cd, all I have to do is start Firefox using its default profile (with a switch), Firefox will (just as described above) update the extensions/themes and whatever and start itself up. Now I can change the settings if I want to or just close Firefox immediately and export the default profile to my uA cd. it seems to me to be a fast and easy method, easily updated and pretty robust. oh and a new firefox release would not destroy the customized default profile... it is really a seperate part. Actually, every localized version of Firefox (as far as I know) has a different default profile (different default rssfeed for News, but not all localized versions have it). I have been using this method for a long time... never had any trouble. if I would put a firefox profile in the Windows default user, I would have a useless default profile in the Firefox folder... thats not what I want btw, my default profile just has some extensions I see as musthaves, like Adblock+Filterset.G Updater, Autohide (for fullscreen), Bbcode, Imagezoom and Mousegestures. furthermore, I cleaned the Bookmarks section and added a few searchplugins (to translate/dictionary)+rearranged the Searchplugins. Did some basic tweaking for speed (its a habit since v.8) thats all.
  21. this topic belongs in Unattended Windows forum. And just configure your start menu the way you want, go to the documents and settings\all users\start menu folder, create a sfx rar/zip/7z archive of the contents of this folder. Create a batchfile (will run during your Unattended setup) that deletes the contents of start menu in the All Users folder and Default User and runs the sfx archive afterwards.. the easiest and most simple method ever
  22. Ow great thanks!! but uhm, I created my own default profile, by installing firefox, starting it from the default profile, modify everything the way I want, install extensions/themes etc. then I export the default profile to a 7z archive that will be extracted once Firefox is installed (extracts the folder "profile" to C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\defaults and also the folder "searchplugins" to C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\). So every user that starts up FF for the first time, a new profile will be created in the user accounts appdata folder, this new profile is just a copy of the default profile... So I would need a command doing this task, create the profile (using the default profile).. not sure if the command you gave firefox.exe -CreateProfile default will do this.. If it is possible like this I would prefer it above the override.ini method.
  23. Yes indeed, I suspected that, just wasnt sure so didn't put it in the guide! Actually I thought I would expand my usertweaks.reg file... because I also want another exotic tweak. But I discovered this is not set in the Registry: Tile icons on the desktop! (if you ever tried Xpize Settings.. with that you can Tile icons on the desktop). I don't know wich file is responsible for this tweak, can't believe it involves Reshacking since it is applied immediately when you set it with Xpize Settings... hmm I will have to ask Xpero (creator of Xpize). I did discover how to get the Buttons above, menubar below and addressbar in the middle in the Windows Explorer windows its just a regtweak I use Vista themes, looks lot better this way. Only have the Tile tweak, the 'how to get Movies in the Rightpane of Startmenu' - tweak, and 'how to disable Import Wizard of Firefox on first run'. My uAcd is finished apart from that.. just waiting for final Nlite to make a final iso. Took me a year or perhaps more. was a nice project though!
