Not 100% sure there... I have seen something simular, but it was on a server... it was looking for its local hdd for the images... but that was down to the setting on Internet Explorer..

  9. When the two servers were joined the DNS and all the pc's were working ok. the other server was promoted to join the AD which it did, but now some 8 months down the line, there are these replication errors.... I dont know what has caused it, but i need a solution. I as far as i can see, a forced demotion is the only way... but will i loose anything?
  10. Are the users in question set up on both domains? If so just map the drive in a login script with "net use x: \\machine-name\share-name" There is a registry way of doing it but i cant find the file in question at this time !
  11. HELP ! I have an 2k domain controller which was upgraded from NT. so all profiles and emails were brought up to an AD. I then joined another clean built 2k server to the AD to enable more storage and some new programs to run. This has been working fine until reciently when i noticed the DNS was not running correctly and various DNS errors appeared. It turns out the AD does not replicate between the 2 servers. i cannot see any reason why, but it is now causing problems with joining new PC's to the network. Has anyone come accross this before? or know why it would fail? Since i cant replicate, i want to de-join the new server from the domain and hopefully the other server will continue to run correctly. The problem is... how do i demote the server by force, when it cant see the rest of the AD? Thanks in advance ppl !

  17. another 2p ! Hacking genrally is to gain access into a system or software through a back or side door. However... Malicous hackers are ppl who are destructive and hack to gain Web credit or money. But I hack... when ppl have lost/forgotton there passwords !!!
  18. Hmmm toughie... I would try something like the saws above... or for more power.... you could try a Chain Saw. However after much consideration and chatting to my local wood merchant, have been told not to advise the use of a SeeSaw ! On the serious side though (all joking aside): MDF (Medium density Fibreboard) is man made from fibres and dust of wood which powder like. This is then bonded under high compression which inturn creates the wood. MDF is a hazardous material when woking with it protection must be used! Any dust from cutting MDF has the simular properties as asbestos. So breathing the dust into the lungs is dangerous. I use MDF to build Speakers and Sub boxes in cars. Its rigid and hard wearing, minimal flex in the wood creates nice deep punchy bass! But be very careful when working with it.
  19. Well its died again! Nothing... The only cure is a full system restart... But its back up again... for now anyway...
  20. Ok... Lets start from the obvious and go down a list... Is it plugged in and switched on at the wall socket? Is the fuse in the plug ok? Try another power lead (one that you know works!) Does the PSU have its OWN switch on the back and is it on? Does anything else run from the same socket? i.e. desk light - does it work? If all above fails, then the problem is the pc... Test the Psu - as per Biohazards post.. BE CAREFUL there are lots of connectors in this plug! If the psu powers up then the motherboard is faulty. If not then the psu is faulty. Hope this helps!
  21. True answer: Messing about Answer : Has anyone got the OS/2 ? or debian ones? On the second one, i got this: Then I realised that i had missed the "top level domain" question and got this: Daft eh? Daft but fun ! lol
