  1. Hi ppl... I have been writing a web site using HTML, it works fine in IE, but firefox "Ignores" the images! Any reason for this? Also the frames dont seem to be the same size either? Everything works in IE 4+ but not in the latest version of firefox... What am i doing wrong?
  2. Is that Jacks daughter, the blonde one? she is very tasty!
  3. Hi ppl... I just received this e-mail: I don't bank with them, and don't intend to (if they really exist) So just another scam?? Word of advise to those of you who may well have one of these... Read it carefully, your own bank would NEVER ask for the details that this is asking for! and certainly not via e-mail!!!!! Oh... and i like the "small print" at the end ! as if................... EDIT: Here is the specifics of the mail address:
  4. if not, you can download a patch from maxtor... i used this when i had the problem. But check the bios first, to see if it is registering a 200Gb hdd...
  5. When you turn the pc on, are there any beeps? if so how many... if there is constant beeping the display card is faulty... If there is 1 beep followed by 3 beeps, there is a memory fault... If there are no beeps, then your motherboard/processor could be faulty!...
  6. I think your best option would be another server, running another domain... then all the students can log on there, and the staff can log onto the other server then you just need a one way trust between the servers... Hope that helps...
  7. an aditional switch/ hub is the eaiest option... Although, you could use internet connection sharing if your pc is 2k or XP...
  8. I'm off to grill some cheese sarnies!!!! Any one want one?
  9. LOL Oh poo... i wanted numbers 2,3 and 4... already got 11, its called the DOG !
  10. YES ! One over microsoft !!!! we like that
  11. Erm, right.... Do you want to have 5 pc's plugged into the router? or 1 DSL and 4 pcs? Do you need all the machines on the same network? if so, then you will need an aditional hub/switch. Easiest option also is your router really a router? or is it a switch? routers normally have 1 cat5 network socket and another socket to goto a data line - phone or network... It could be a combined router and switch... If your not sure, then put the make and model on here. we can tell you... Do all the pc's only need the internet? or are there other resources needed? i.e. data and printers... Internet connection sharing is fine if you need to control or just to expand your network for internet only. if you need to browse the rest of the network, it wont work. Is your server running a server software? or just basic windows, but with shares? If the server is indeed a server then i would setup your kit like this: DSL modem plugged into Server network card 1. Server network card 2 into your router/switch. then the other pc's into the router If i understand your description correctly, then this will work - its how I run mine! The server would then need to be setup to route between the cards - this is where NAT comes in... But you need a Server operating system for this, or some software to emulate a NAT router... Hope this helps !
  12. Not 100% sure on this but; if you go into a users settings, i'm sure you can restrict the times and pc's they can use - You can on 2000 server.... Win 2k = Double click the user click the Account tab click "Log on to..." for the computers and add the machines click "Log on hours" for the times. This will have to be done with each user though... I don't know if 2k3 will let you do this via a group policy though... I think this only to setup the domain. To make a child domain you would need another server. Each server then is a branch of the tree. I don't know of any way to create seperate domains on 1 server... Again, i may be wrong here Hope this helps
  13. I have an NT4 box running exchange 5.5 A few weeks ago the server stopped all e-mail services. The server was reset and all the email came back. Now for the last 3 weeks, all users cannot get attachments on the email! The clents are running Outlook 2000. I have created a new user which cannot recieve attachments. Also the server seems to be running very slowly and task manager reports 100% of useage. Help ! Has anybody seen or heard of this before? Thanks in advance

  18. What style of RAID are you using and what is the RAID controller?
  19. /chill XMax... The link does work... But only if you have an existing account. I have logged out and the link STILL works, It will redirect you, the only thing i have found is that there are 2 "Nonsecure items" windows that pop up...
  20. All the users and profiles are stored on the older server. The only thing that is on the new server is the main database and other odds. If i demote it, then make it a member server, i will not loose any of the user profiles as this has not been updated since the original problem. All the users and accounts work on the older server and are updating. My theory is this: I dont really need 2 servers running the domain. The older server is only running the network and the email, So that is fine. By demoting the new server, and then making it a member server, i will still have the user list, and full functionality of the network. Since the Email server will be getting replaced, i may as well run it like that and see if it is stable. Then once i am happy with the servers, try again to move AD over. The AD was replicating for some time, but i cannot find what has caused it to stop. At this point in time i need the system running smoothly, rather than "correctly" if you will. Once we are in the new year, i will sort it all out properly. Is that a better idea? or am i missing something? Thanks again...
  21. Are yes but it aint quite that simple XtremeMac... You also need to configure your mail client.... BUT ! as luck would have it click here for all the mail clients individual setup features... Dont forget you need to go to your gmail accout and turn on the pop first...
