Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight......... Bizarreo !

Hi ppl... Has anyone seen this before? or knows of fix? I have installed MS SUS on a server and service packed the w2k workstations upto sp4 from sp2... While on sp2 everything was fine... however, when they were upgraded the spoolsv error appeared on a machine. i found a reg fix and everything was fine... 3 days later 2 more pc's went down with the same error. so again i applied the reg fix and reloaded the driver which worked again for a few more days then a few more pcs have gone down !! Is there somthing i'm missing? MS rekon its a printer driver fault. but it is the same one that we used on sp2! I have also downloaded the latest driver and this is still not fixing the fault. Help Please !!!

Its ok.. found a fix on the web... U need to re-register the MSiexec.exe and then re-start the service... I also needed to re-create a missing reg key??? Take care All!

Nevermind... bit more sleep may make me able 2 read !!! lol Many thanks tho.... However.... how do ppl get different membership? i.e. gold? is that down to the amount of posts as well? cheers....

Knowing nothing about longhorn (other than its MS's new Os) i'm wondering if i should bother with it yet? Does it look, handle, operate like a normal windows os? and of course - being MS - does it need to restart at every opertunity like when you sneeze??? Wot should i do? Build a new decent spec pc? or find an old pentium/amd with 128mb and install it for a laff? Please let me have some ideas, thoughts, and general info about the new OS ! Cheers!

For the cost of a lappy m/board you'll be better off buying a new lappy... They ain't that expensive now anyway!

Hmmmm.......... It really is quite worrying the amount of information available to you on the Inet ! ... Even more worrying is the fact that ppl who do this sort of thing.... keep me in my job ! Upon further investigation.... I have tried to install McAfee Vscan 7 onto the server - the MAA part... and this caused the error: "windows installer service could not be accessed" A web search from MS told me the installer was currupt/missing. Following the artice to repair I found the MSIServer key was missing... Can i just copy this key from another Server/workstation? I have downloaded the latest version of installer, but cannot run it because "the installer service is already runnning" but i have renamed the files, and restarted. I have re-applied the Service pack 4 but this still is not working... HELP !!!! Many Thanks

Hi folks, Please help this is driving me mad! I am trying to install SUS server onto my Win2k Server but the program seems to unpack, then it runs the MSI installer which pops onto the screen saying "installing..." then it closes and thats it ! I have run the same program on another W2k Server which works fine. But whenever i try it on this server, it gets to the same point and dies.... Any body else seen this? Any ideas please ?
