that is exactly how i'm running now XPized XP (SP2) with sfcfiles hack and WFP enabled i really preffer it this way, i like to keep windows "thinking" it has everything under WFP and i can change my system files as long as they are not in use this is not a problem of this pack, every shellpack will have the same problems (replacing the system files and so on) and for me it doesn't matter. for the moment i would use the temporaly solution by @keytotime keeping in mind the issue with WFP.

are you running sp2? since sp2 that regkey will revert the logon to the classic apparence (i had the same problem when sp2 came out ) if not is problem of your msgina.dll, is the root correct? is your file correctly "edited"?

@RyanVM, QFECheck already hated them before in my case it's a problem to integrate hotfixes and the "xpized updated files". combine both is not going to be easy but not because WFP. i would recommend to not disable wfp, the workaround can be the fix for sfcfiles.dll that can be found on this forum.

just one note about the logon screens as i've took a lot of time editing them some time ago ... logow.sys: 256 color bmp (LOGO Wait until shutdown); windows\system folder logos.sys: 256 color bmp (LOGO Shutdown now safely); windows\system folder logo.sys: 256 color bmp (LOGO shown during startup); C:\ root folder

@www2000 my intention was not write a guide on how to modify your system files, how to do deskmod and so on, there are many guides outhere on how to do this (including some guides in this forum). my intention was to show how you can implement your previously modified files onto an unattended installation. google for it i'm sure you'll find what you want.

@XtremeMaC, all the people can download the game from steam. the problem is that if you want to play you need to validate the key on valve servers (so you need to pay for it to buy the key). many people downloaded the game from steam and now the wait a way to crack the activation

what really happened: a very known underground group that cracked the previous steam CS:S released a version that is able to connect to valve and validate the serial. gabe newell (Valve Software Managing Director) sent a mail available to public: valve knows about that fix and have adapted steam to detect those versions: now if you try to validate the cracked HL2, your account will be erased, your ip will be blocked and the serial blacklisted. that's why there are floating around those "[nuked]" versions. i can't give more details about it because you know discussion about warez/cracks/serials is not supported by msfn and all of this information is not available at "official sites".
