@gmx looks interesting but it will be a problem if we look at the unattended installation (restart, install, restart again...)

@my2001 i'll try to reply all your doubts 1) because they are common programs that are installed often at least in my system. 2) i'm sure you haven't listen about the unattended codec pack that gives support for many media formats *but* it doesn't add support for browsers in order to play some media files. basically that pack extracts the codec files to system folders and import the necessary registry entries. with this installation, that pack and some reg settings you can find on this fourm you'll be able to play all of those files, do a search for it. 3) about plugin scanning yeah, i know about it, i've removed all the plugins and tested again: +/- 2 sec that for me don't make any difference and don't forget this setup is mainly for unattended installations which means sometimes don't install a program, even extracting it to the correct folder and import registry settings. about disk space... how many gb is your HD?? mine is 120*1024mb and i'm sure is not a problem to fill 2mb more. also there's not so much difference between the original installation and mine talking about size, the original one is smaller because it uses 7zip compression. that's all (i think)

@SolidasRock didn't want to start a discussion about which is better but... more stable yes, Ff NEVER have hang on my system and IE... LoL. i agree, with sp2 things have been improved anyway how many features of Ff, IE can offer?? finally about spyware, 90% of the net is using IE so that's the reply but, again, i'm sure that at the moment Ff 1.0 is less vulnerable than IE.

LoL my reason is because windows update: i know there are 3rd party utilities but i think that a m$ programs can update better theirself. also removing IE sometimes is crappy, you know about OE and windows activation, so yes i can say that it still lies right here, resting, sleeping or what i like to think: on the morgue, waiting to sometime when it will be possible to remove/strip/delete/kill it COMPLETELY... i think i need some sleep, C U all guys

IE doesn't have a profile manager and if you are not an admin you can't access other users' favorites/temp files ... and IE sucks tip: old versions of firefox (firebird) created a shortcut to the profile manager that now is not created (or at least for me not), to run it "firefox.exe /p" (no instances of the browser must be running).

2 questions: why not? and why didn't you try to search for comparatives/reviews? your reply should start here. but in resume firefox is less vulnerable (at the moment) and more stable, also has more features like tab browsing, better popup blocker and hability to use themes and extensions.

@Astalavista, nice that people can now select what they preffer, no offense @crahak is easy, a simple explanation on how to built your own: unpack the file with winrar and you'll notice you can open xpi files with winrar (zip compressed). just edit, replace and so on... (prefs.js, bookmarks.html, .jar files...). then repack everything again with the mozilla installer as you already know. i spent only 10 minutes converting my localized language setup to the english one. @Astalavista sinceraly i don't have idea but i can guess... because of the %APPDATA%\Mozilla paths, when you create a new user a new folder is created and the chrome folder is different too, so... a different user don't have the same extensions/themes and preferences. @thehalon basically you'll need to rebuilt the installer, you can take a reference in the first post - step 1 - of this guide. now let me defend my way differences between msi methods: you can safely edit my installation and add your custom settings you just need winrar (what a wonderful program). msi installers don't have that nice MSFN bookmar ( ) and that amount of included plugins and the most important in the unattended world, silent by default, no need of /qn/qb switches. hey! forgot the most important, that good looking firefox icon (xDDD) now Supperfast Download!! provided by buletov. definetly not the best test, check my system at my signature, my bandwidth is 512kbps and using firefox 1.0 tweaked i got from 22.3 to 3.5 sec! ( probably a matter of the browser cache LoL) and using iexplorer from 19.8 to 8.9

@my2001 mmmhhh ok didn't notice of that, i visited that site a long long time ago (as you can see is posted on the interested links section in the guide). you can read on the same site that means would not work on a german/spanish localized system. i'll redownload it again to see if things have changed.
