no matter what you introduce at cd-key, you'll be able to continue with the admin install. win.ini is stored on C:\windows

this is more than tricky, i'll try to explain it quickly since it can take a LOT of time: extract the contents of the installer, you'll see a .msi file. create an admin install point "msiexec.exe /a %path%\bitdefender8.msi" on the new folder containing the admin install you can edit .ini files, most of them contain preferences. add the cumulative update overwritten if necessary. now you are ready to install with /qb switch over the .msi (admin point) or you can take the whole folder and add it to a rar-sfx to save space. finally your serial is stored on win.ini, you'll need to replace it during installation

i've got a similar system. mine was using xp since it came out and never had any problems (if you are a hardcore gamer you'll probably notice a slow-down). i would move to a n-lite'd xp

can't agree Zxian, they stole a patent like some pc manufacturers or nintendo (nintendo was not sued because they get an agreement with immersion). this is still not finished yet, 1 year is resting until the final decission.

i use a batch file to send ping commands during a minute. @echo off cmdow @ /HID PING -n 61 127.0.0.1>nul exit you only need CMDOW to hide the batch window

@ChrisBaksa & @getwired, yours is a really valid point, in fact is why i started using bartpe. thing is that bartpe adds a lot of more functionality than winpe. you got the same plus new features you can use to recover/restore/replace your system

@durex, as said, people like you worth the time expended on this batch thing @tresans, yours is a valid way but you can just use -ms switch over the new 1.02 version that will be easier also packing the setup with winrar and using "/S" switch will take less space on your uA CD

you'll need to reinstall your games b/c keys are stored on your registry and when you reinstalled your xp system they were deleted. you can try to search through google where your game keys are stored on your registry but easiest way could be reinstalling the game that is not working (don't worry you won't loose your savegames reinstalling). hope it helps

no they don't have the same hardware as 1 is prepared to display 60hz refresh rates (ntfs) and the other 50hz rates (pal). apart from this (as it happens in japan) broadband is not the same. other than this (video mode and broadband) the rest should be exactly the same, including hardware
