for anyone that would like to know. my solution: use winrar (or switches) to extract the wmp10 package. create a new rar sfx file with this comment ;The comment below contains SFX script commands Setup=setup_wm.exe /DisallowSystemRestore /Q:A /R:N TempMode Silent=2 Overwrite=1 then add this entry to RunOnceEx REG ADD %KEY%\040 /VE /D "Windows Media Player 10" /f REG ADD %KEY%\040 /V 1 /D "%CDROM%\Software\WMP10\WMP10.exe" /f that will give you a (1mb) smaller and unattended installation

...it was said that every update from sp2 will use a new installer that let u slipstream that update in the sp2 main installation (hotfixes or optional updates)...

those folders are WFP protected and can be safetly deleted but WFP must be turned off until remove'em...

Alanoll has the point here, it could be considered illegal. if you go to wmp site and click download, you'll be redirected to download the 9series wmp. any possesion of that software until it's in the download mainpage could be illegal, strictly of course. so check every 5min wmp download and tell me if the /integrate switch works

i'm currently running sp1 and i'm preparing to format and use my unattended sp2 . why to upgrade to sp2?? it's too easy, sp2 contains all the updates on sp1 plus windows update, so why not install it (note install like start from 0 not upgrade)?? ps: i miss in the poll "not running sp2 but i plan to update"
