yeh i know what you mean BW, i dont think it would be hard to write such a script, if url = the failure page then it just tries again. most people use words and numbers in thier passwords these days anyhow, so dictionary attacks are pretty lame and are probably only usefull for getting into young kids email accounts ... hardly worth the hassle, a hacker would bust in not mess around with brute forcing like that.

thats what i said, it wasnt brute force because the server would stop taking requests after a bit, it was probably done by injecting java into the templates and then snatching the passwords, or by a PHP exploit sending the admin pass or config.php, encrypted or otherwise to a webserver or email account. anyways, glad u have it sorted rev and know whos to blame.

hi tom, i doubt you need mother board drivers, however they do sometimes help if you update them, it sounds like you need graphics drivers. heres a few tips, run windows update. also get the recomended det drivers for your card, ask a few people on here they will tell you which are the beter ones, its not always the latest ones. for a beter ping: keep your monitor refresh rate at a sensible level around 75hz should be fine, dont set the display mode color settings too high, i doubt you can tell the difference between 24bit and 32bit can you? i cant... that will help your ping. once you update your drivers lets uf know how you get on with it. just a thought.. are you on cable/adsl?

in internet explorer go to Tools>internet options click the security tab and then click the "default level" button, next click the privacy tab and drop the bar down to medium or "accept all cookies" then run windows update. after you can put your settings back as they where if you like let us know how u get on

get a radeon 8500 they have excellent dvd features and the card only costs £180 so you will probably be able to pick one up in the US for $230 goddamn cheap parts over there.... grr

you shoud both try get the latest firmware for your drives it may fix it. i get wmp going choppy some times, be it playing video or music, from disc or webpage or hdd, other players dont do it just wmp. it doesent do it all the time either, when it does it makes my whole pc run jerky till i eventually get it to close wmp, and then if i where to try play a game id get very low FPS. wierd and annoying but then ive never been a great fan of wmp....

applying the patch will probably over write the updates tho.. might not but usually does so check the version after doing it, if not ill keep an eye out for a no-cd version update

it wont allow you to defrag? hmm ive had a friends pc do this a while ago, he ended up formatting. id suggest you download a demo of O+O defrag and try that, see if it will defrag your drive (much beter than diskkeeper or win98's defragger IMO) it can do different types of defragmentation, sometimes you might just use "stealth" mode and it will get rid off all but a few defragged files, then run it in "name" and it will move those files too. usually stealth does the job. using disk keeper and win98 defragger ive never removed ALL of my fragged files, using O+O i completey remove every last fragged file on my system, give it a try and see if that helps. it may just allow you to defrag, if its still locking up after then it must be something else... ive had it do something similar on here, it turned out to be bad drivers for my NIC card of all things! windows had installed drivers for the next model up. recomend: defrag, then run windows update. if its still doing that check drivers for all your hardware are correct, also do a virus scan and disc check (doubt its the disc)

people in america call what we in the uk call Asians "Arabs". i understand why its confusing because in the uk we dont call oriental Asians "Asian" anyway, yep there are "arab" resteraunts and takeaways all over the uk, infact theres so much demand for curry its our national dish, wierd huh? and last night i went to meenas and had a Saag gosht with keema naan. they are Indian anyway not Arab, although most of the resteraunts are run by arabs from Pakistan or saudi arabia. The best food is from resteraunts run by Indians, you can tell the difference, much nicer food IMO.
