MSN messanger has, again been suffering from network difculties tonight, anyone affected will find themselves signed out of the network and unable to sign back in till service resumes.

fireworks images are not as high quality as photoshop images, though i havent tried the mx version, fireworks is excellent for buttons and website icons and stuff like that, quick and easy to use. for a logo i would use photoshop or freehand

It was announced today by Adobe, Inc. that the upgrade to Photoshop 6.1 and Photoshop 7 added a special devices that 'phones home' the registration number and collected computer data to create a unique # (similar to what is found in Windows XP). Obviously, this was a move to collect a list of its pirated software. Adobe has been compiling the list since the release of their free 6.1 upgrade last July. CNN reports that the list has been sent to the FBI, more here: Adobe Systems, Inc, makers of the popular computer graphics program Photoshop, announced on Friday that they have compiled and submitted a list of more than 25,000 Internet Protocol (IP) addresses with duplicate serial numbers for versions six and seven of their product. A spokesman from Adobe says "We installed what is called a 'callback' on Photoshop to try and curb piracy. It essentially sends installation information to our servers upon first use." The FBI plans to work with national and local Internet Service Providers (ISP) to find and convict those responsible. The software is reported to only phone home once, while your pc is idle.however, people running a firewall will obviouxly get an alert and can block the software from reporting back to adobe. i dont believe for a minute that the fbi will be raiding peoples homes who are running pirate versions of photoshop, this would make them unpopular and cost too much, but they will try to target people distributing it.:eek: Did you know, ADOBE wasnt some huge corporate organisation when it first started, but a group of programming nerds who saw a nieche and started selling thier programs, the company is run very differently from large corporations such as IBM even today. A few years ago they cellebrated huge profits by the whole staff from the directors down having a huge water fight using waste paper bins and anything that came to hand, something i doubt you would ever see at intel or IBM....

sounds odd, have you tried closing everything like firewall, msn messanger, outlook etc down? my guess is its the firewall....

steve is a clever bloke, but how do i put this... hmm i cant but i would take some of what he says with a pinch of salt. security... dont give out your address (oops) dont give out your full real name (oops) dont give out your social security number (phew) dont arrange to meet strange men from chat rooms (oop... err i mean phew) comon sense. get an anti virus program + firewall dont give out credit card details in chat boxes or to dodgy looking sites, make sure when ordering online that the page is secure (look for the padlock on your browser) etc etc etc come on pia you can explain this stuff to her im sure

add it to an open directory alao, linking to as many sites on a similar topic will help, as will those sites and others linking back, the more sites linking to you the beter you will score on the search engine and i dont mean to patronise.. you have added meta tags havent you? u will have done that i know, but just checking..

software companies arent powerfull enough to stifle freedom of speech, yet.

there was no need to do that drew, modifying windows is ok, its only like you applying skins which is something your not supposed to do unless the skin is signed by microsoft.. but you make it work. i dont know the urls removed but can someone repost them. talking about warez, warez releases, etc isnt illegal. hosting the files, or serial numbers IS. so please dont post them or DIRECT links to them (a link to google showing the page would be ok for example)

who here has SOF2 and would like to play it online? we would have to arrange matches as the servers dont show up in the SOF2 list if you have the FLT release or DEVIANCE release. you will need the multiplayer patch too i think, though that may only be for hosting im not sure..

well.. it cant be done unless you have the password to open the file :S
