ive had this game for a few days but i only just installed it yesterday and started playing, aa few things: its HUGE its Grahically amazing its very atmospheric im hooked! has anyone else here got it, patched or otherwise? just interested in maybe trying it out online with a few people if theres anyone other than me here with it, Yours Illious Jalianodie

There IS a soyo board out there for AMD cpu's with DDR333 support, i was wrong saying there wasnt in another thread earlier, the board looks pretty good, all in silver too. ive not seen any reviews of it yet though, but if soyo's last efforts are anything to go by it should be a **** good board!

the white stuff is just spiral wrap it can be bought from maplin or even b+q i think, i got 4 meter of it from http://www.coolcasemods.com just after posting those piccies i modded my Radeon 8500 64mb graphics card. First i took a "credit card" and a cardboard business card and put them over the edge of the pcb and slightly under the heatsink on the graphics card. Then using a flat knife i gently rocked the blade from side to side until the heatsink and fan popped off. it took about 10 seconds to do, wasnt hard but was kinda scary doing this to a £178 card! Next up came the cleaning, u used a blade to scrape off excess glue from the old heatsink, then using nail varnish remover and tissue paper i rubbed the rest off. Following that was sanding, using a sanding block and fine paper i got the top of the processor down till it was nice and smooth and flat as i could get it. then it was a simple case of sticking the new heatsink and fan on with thermal glue, Arctic Silver Epoxy from http://www.chillblast.com next up ill add some heatsinks to the ram chips on the card, but ill have to wait till i get more thermal tape. i just asked in the local pc store if he had any old heatsinks i could buy off him and he gave me a few so i could try them out, he chucked in an old cyrix 486 too with one of the heatsinks lol. i didnt pay for them they where no use to the shop so i got them simply for the cost of asking ill cut them into size later and ill post some pics of those being added to it. www.msfn.org/images/b2.jpg www.msfn.org/images/8500-mod.jpg www.msfn.org/images/8500-mod02.jpg www.msfn.org/images/8500-mod03.jpg www.msfn.org/images/8500-mod04.jpg www.msfn.org/images/8500-mod05.jpg

rstryker, last i checked soyo dont have a kt333 board out, unless they have a new one out. the fastest boards with kt333 chipsets out at the moment are ABIT (fastest one) and MSI Kt3 Ultra ARU (my mobo) the MSI board isnt quite as fast (not that you would notice) but has RAID unlike the ABIT one, i plan to add raid to here eventually for more speed so i got this one, theres a huge thread on mobo recomends here: http://www.msfn.org/index.php?act=ST&f=5&t...be085a0971d457b and here is usefull: http://www.msfn.org/index.php?s=7455f5b138...&st=0#entry9424

i just bought mine, 2 X 256mb pc2700 i wont post how much it cost, its crucial ram, go find out for yourselves, my wallet took a right slap from it. cost more than my pc case dammit!

ill be fixing the nuts to the inside of the case with epoxy, then holding the perspex over the door and marking where the nuts are. after that its onto the bench drill to make recess holes so the perspex goes over the nuts, then small holes for the bolts. ill post piccies when i do it very nice job lezend, how about some of that thin silver trim? like on the case pictue i posted. might look nice, or maybe greensih if you can find it, to match the front door on the case....

you can use the winxp recovery console to build a new boot.ini wthout installing the operating systems again, it will scan your drives and rebuild the file, DONT rebuild or mess with the Master boot record though, just rebuild boot.ini it might save you formatting twice in a row.

i dont like kits with big rubber edges either, ugly, much easier to make your own, and no need to cut the perspex! doing it the way you are by the look you will only have to trim it a bit, or leave it the size of the case panel and it will help keep noise down im doing something similar on here, but no screws will be visible from outside. internal fixings using standoffs. these might suit your case lezend: heres kinda what my case will look like when done, but ill use UV light and Blue: your case is going to own, looks good already MSNwar.. theres also the guy who uses shotguns to "upgrade" computers....

what graphics card do you have? and are the drivers upto date?

i dint think xp will like being the secondary os , i wouldnt format it then put me on first, just use partition magic and do it that way

get hold of partition magic 7, split off however much of your dirve you need for winME (do this to the right side of XP files in partition magic) whack in your winme cd, reboot. when it asks for a drive to install to select your new partition. it will install as normal, when you reboot you will get the option before the bootscreen for what OS you want, something like "select operatiing system to boot: 1) windows XP pro C:\ 2) windows ME sucks a** E:\" i forget what exactly it says, but something along those lines, you can disable that screen if you want to boot into me only occasionally, and your pc will boot as normally. if you want to know that too ill tell you how. your not daft i dont think i need to go into much more detail.. if you need any pointers just give me a shout filer
