i if remember correctly 7 is the magic number. if a password hash is detected that it has more then 7 characters it breaks the hash in half and 'cracks' its like that so its speedier (it runs 2 smaller hashes at the same time instead of one large one) myself i just use a password with ASCII characters, numbers and letters thats more then 7 characters as of yet LC4 cant crack it, (havent tried 5) LC4 said it would take years to crack

im with you firefox/opera guys. i used to use opera back in the 5,6 and 7 days but didnt like the newest verison (either 7 or 8, i cant remember whichone, it was the one where the integrated that stupid sidebar in) after i saw the newest version (which was 8 then i think) and didnt like it i remembered that i had firefox .98 on HDD and decided to try it, it had the feel of opera that i liked, a massive amount of plugins (new ones created everyday or so), and the search box. ever since then ive stuck with firefox, using 1.04 now. the thing like someone else said is opera costs $39 while firefox is free and opensource, and they pretty much have the same features (whether it be fully integrated or plugins). im stickin with the fox and oh yea IE can go to hell! i only use it when firefox wont display the pages correctly (the page is an ASP or uses ActiveX, or some other MS technology that is specific for IE)

Is 64bit really better than 32bit?
Brando569 replied to Brando569's topic in Windows XP 64 Bit Edition

trillian 3.1 is nice but the thing that annoys me the most with it is that it creates HUGE im windows, when im using 1024x768 one window nearly takes up half of my screen! anyone know how to fix this??

i have a (samsung) dell 2005fpw connected to my geforcefx 5200 (as stated in the other post) and i just noticed that it wont display anythin during boot-up. no post messages, no xp loading screen, nothing. the only time it becomes active is when it fully loads windows (ex. the welcome screen). i would have posted this at dell but their form sucks and i havent gotten the activation link yet....

odd...very odd.... i might reinstall windows with my new UA disc once i work out the final bugs in the sourcecode of start.bat and see if WPI works then if it doesnt idk wtf ill do, possibly go back to using the old version of Xplode that i have, which takes soo much longer cuz i have to write everything in XML...

hey ppl my computers acting strange, i just hooked up my new dell 2005fpw LCD monitor to my Nvidia GeForce FX 5200 card and it will display all resolutions below 1024x768 but nothing above it! i installed all of the latest drivers for the card and the monitor and it seemed to make no difference. the 5200 was only made a few years ago so im sure it supports resolutions above 1024x768, infact i could get 1280x1024 to work on my old CRT but always thought it was too small and was a strain on my eyes. now that i have this 20" widescreen LCD monitor i want to go to a higher resolution so it looks more crisp and all that good stuff but whenever i select anything higher it goes to a black screen, sits there for 15 secs then goes back to my old resolution! BTW the max resolution of the monitor is 1680x1050. i have a feeling its a problem with my video card, because my dad has the same monitor (with a dell XPS Gen4) attached to an ATI X850 XT and it works perfectly (as if i should expect anything less of a video card costing more than certain used cars! the stupid video card costs about $650 ) so yea i should expect differences between my dads ATI card ($650) and my Nvidia card ($53) but dont you guys think that i should at the most be able to select 1280x0124?

i dont recommend plextor dvd burners at all, around a year ago i bought either the PX-712a or PX-716a (cant remember) and its horrible it takes the drive like 30 seconds to a minute to read a dvd regardless or whether its blank or not! my other drive is an LG cd burner and dvd reader and it will read any dvd i place in it in under 10 seconds! i was very disappointed with it... unless plextor has made great strides in improving their drives im going to buy my next dvd burner from another company, probably either pioneer or sony

yea i think microsoft was complaining about ppl posting screenies of it or sumthin

is 64bit stuff really better than 32bit stuff? from what ive seen the processors are unstable (mainly the AMD 64bit processors, or atleast they were), theres barely any support for them and software vendors dont really seem to be jumping on the 64bit bandwagon. what are the real advantages for the end user? i know it can address more then 4gb of memory (i forget what it actually is somewhere in the terrabyte range, correct?) and im guessing that it processes stuff faster, but is any of this really useful for the home user/small business user?

where can I download the trail version of XP 64?
Brando569 replied to SoftZip.com's topic in Windows XP 64 Bit Edition
microsoft FINALLY got smart, being the money hungry a$$es that they are i would figure that they would make you buy it all over again! looks like microsoft is slowly getting smarter -
im not technical or anything with mine since theyre for the main part for my own personal use, depending on what it is i pretty much use this naming template: <OS Name> <Service Pack #> EX. XP Pro SP2 and if i customized it in anyway i might just add "custom" at the end. short and simple.

yo tengo un gato in mis pantolones!!!- i have a cat in my pants! (from blue streak) and yea spanish isnt that easy to learn (or atleast i dont think it is) i had to take it for 8 years in school (3rd-10th grade) and after i took german my junior year i forget almost everything, everytime i try to speak spanish it comes out in german its funny. on a side note totoymola you say your filapino (spelling?) but your location says From: Russia, with love (a joke im guessing?) and the girl you like es una mexicana chica, where do u live? im confused!! and as alot of people said translators arent always right, they'll most likely give you the formal nouns/pronouns and actual spanish (that which is spoken in spain). incase you didnt know spanish spoken by mexicans, puerto ricans and spaniards is a little bit different, they can still understand each other theyre just different dialects i guess you would say. good luck!

Area 51 -Spy from Google Maps Satellite
Brando569 replied to DigeratiPrime's topic in General Discussion
we might have to stand there for 6 months to a year though and this is pretty awesome, after i looked at the area 51 pics on google i proceeded to find my house and look at the surrounding area of my city, pretty awesome! and yea its pretty funny when you try to zoom in on area 51 it says that they dont have the images. those close up pics of area 51 are pretty awesome..... i wonder if we'll ever find out what actually goes on there or went on there, probably not because they threaten to kill people if they expose whats going on there. anybody willing to infiltrate area 51 then sneak out and expose what they found???? Anybody?? -
but why would they fake it? theres no reason to, and yea i totally agree Jen is extremely hot

i knew you were gonna say that i was gonna explain it but then i was thinkin "ehh, he'll probably know what im talkin about" the "stupid thing" is the box that pops up asking if u want to execute or save the HTA, its really annoying
