  1. @nuhi, is it possible for your great app to save its preferences? like saving the selections i made to be removed?
  2. @nuhi, my apologies for keeping this one up, im still kinda confused with this: before that, i would like to congratulate you at creating and enhancing nLite so much! its been very wonderful using your creation! onto my question. under the experimental>mdac... its stated at the last part of the description you made that: Remove only if newer version is installed after Windows. does it mean that if i install the Q832483.exe (mdac update) thru svcpack.inf after i remove under nLite will install the updated mdac? or should i still need this to be unchecked under nLite? thanks so much.
  3. i am unsure though if its fitting to ask it here, but what setting under nLite should I not check for me to preserve the part of Windows installation where it loads some animation and asks me who wants to use the computer? thanks.
  4. Hi, I was able to silently install TuneXP 1.5 by using the /S parameter. However, the installer's default behavior is that after it installs, it automatically runs TuneXP. I wonder if there would be a switch that could bypass it. I tried invoking a taskkill command after running TuneXP installation but it seems to skip it (or the installer running too slow that the taskkill run during the TuneXP installation. Anyway, here's part of my runonceex.cmd ... ... REG ADD %KEY%\014 /VE /D "Task Switcher Powertoy" /F REG ADD %KEY%\014 /V 1 /D "%SYSTEMDRIVE%\Others\Alt-Tab.msi /QN" /F REG ADD %KEY%\015 /VE /D "TuneXP 1.5" /F REG ADD %KEY%\015 /V 1 /D "%SYSTEMDRIVE%\Others\TuneXP_15.exe /S" /F REG ADD %KEY%\015 /V 2 /D "taskkill /F /IM tunexp.exe" /F REG ADD %KEY%\016 /VE /D "PowerDVD v5.0" /F REG ADD %KEY%\016 /V 1 /D "%SYSTEMDRIVE%\Others\powerdvd\Param.cmd" /F REG ADD %KEY%\016 /V 2 /D "%SYSTEMDRIVE%\Others\powerdvd\Setup.exe -s -f1\"%SYSTEMDRIVE%\Others\powerdvd\setup.iss\"" /F ... ... I would like to know, would it be more fitting if I place the taskkill command for TuneXP under PowerDVD's installation? Thanks.
  5. i am unsure about this but it could be a problem with the serial# you're using.
  6. ic. i dunno if i did it wrong, i placed both script files on a same folder and compiled the main script... at the end of the part of running the compiled script, it gave me an error "include error like something". i dunno if its awkward but i decided to include the autoit application and called the source scripts anyway. seems that its working that way.
  7. i am anewbie at manually specifying tcp/ip add from winnt.sif... i was wondering, is it specific with the LAN card present on the pc? or can i enter a generic ip setting that will work with all pc's?
  8. i was wondering, shall i compile both *.aut file as an exe? or should i compile only the main *.aut file? thanks.
  9. @nuhi, i was wondering, was RyanVM's suggestion of: been implemented in the beta 2 release? thanks.
  10. probably you did not have the network redistributable version of sp2.
  11. that command only removes directory with no files, if that folder has files or directories in it, like if you want the functionality of RD of winxp or deltree, then you have to invoke a filedelete first for that particular directory (or delete all the subdirectories of that folder first). otherwise, you could RunWait a batch file to run RD command on that folder.
  12. @gareththegod: i've tried this amazing app, and yes, even if you removed the bundled wmp8, msn msgr installation files, you can still install wmp9 and other updated apps... afaik, it even goes as far as installing diskeeper pro even if you removed the built-in diskeeper.
  13. i dunno if what i heard were just rumors, but i think autopatcher contains some adware proggys.
  14. @big_gie i am compiling the AutoIt script as an executable. if ever i am to use your main script and compile it as an executable, does it also include the SendToWindow.aut to the same executable? I am sorry if i keep on asking, i'm kinda at the beginner stage at making AutoIt scripts. thanks very much for your continuing help.
  15. i was wondering, does it mean that a workaround possibly might be calling an external *.CMD file (containing setup.exe TRANSFORMS=%CDROM%\Install\Applications\Office2003\unattanded.MST /qb- from the runonceex.cmd?
  16. @nuhi, a question again. is it safe to re-apply nLite to an already nLite'ed xp install folder? for example, on my first nLite attempt, i only removed the video drivers... would it be possible then to re-run nLite to the same folder if ever (for example) i am to remove sound drivers? thanks
  17. nuhi, a couple of uhhmm, questions. do you have some sort of a translation of what a component does (if its removed)? i am basing the components you listed thru jdeboeck's tutorial. i wonder if i am on the right track with these. there are some components that i am unsure of removing (like service pack messages), but i kinda look at em as non essential stuffs. also, under the experimental, if ever i am to choose to delete mdac, will the mdac i am installing later thru runonceex.cmd (or svcpack.inf) be ignored since i assume that there's no mdac to update? i really got no much idea if its safe to remove all the items in the experimental section. i hope you wont mind if im asking too much.
  18. kinda off topic, i hope you won't mind, i cant see any fitting thread to post this one to... here it goes... can dotnet framework (dotnetfx.exe) be installed thru svcpack.inf? i tried doing it and running it with a parameter of /Q:A /R:N [setupHotfixesToRun]JS56NEN.exe /Q:A /R:Ndotnetfx.exe /Q:A /R:N"Q832483.exe /C:""dahotfix.exe /q /n"" /q:a"KB823182.exe /Q /N /Z /O....qchain.exeDX9NTopk.exebut during the t-13 part, it didn't go unattended. all other files worked though. thanks in advanced for your advise. more power.
  19. i was wondering, would there be any possibility to run the unnattended ofc2k3 installation thru RunOnceEx.cmd? if its possible, does the same parameters as calling the unnattended ofc2k3 installation thru a *.CMD file work? thanks.
  20. unless you want to slipstream it with xpsp2 and you have the xpsp2 network redistributable installer, then that will be the file you'll be choosing, otherwise, just click on start and it will just trim the contents in your folder (based on the checklist you enabled to be removed): D:\Documents and Settings\Jedi82\Desktop\XPCD\
  21. @big_gie, i was wondering, what's this line for? #Include SendToWindow.autmay i also know the name of the script? edit: i tried my luck with using autoit v3 and here's my script for outpost. Run("OutpostProInstall.exe /s")WinWait("Install", "This system must be restarted to complete the installation. Press the OK button to restart this computer. Press Cancel to return to Windows without restarting.")If WinExists("Install") Then WinActivate("Install") Send("{ESC}")EndIf
  22. @nuhi, will the resulting trimmed-down xpcd install well with all pc configurations? or is it designed to work only on the pc where it was created from? i am worried it might break with a modified txtsetup.sif file (i added a couple of mass storage drivers there).
