  1. Thanks, I see what you mean, makes sense now. Didnt think of combining images that way. I guess you would just "inject" the appropriate files then.
  2. does anyone know if there is a way to relaunch cdshell once you have been kicked to dos? for example, if i run free fdisk to setup up a drive and decide i may want to run a drive test after fdisk, fdisk will quit to dos once finished, is there a way to bring up cdshell again to go through the menus? I have looked through the forums for cdshell....lots of info there but nothing that seems to pertain to this Thanks
  3. Take the floppy out of your drive if theres one in it... I know stupid answer, but ive seen it happen lots
  4. Anyone have any ideas? This is driving me nuts... as far as i know it should work, alcohol seems to wanna reboot which is were the problem might be. If i import the reg file after it reboots, everything works. Woulb be nice to have it run in the unattend though Any suggestions?
  5. great, I have one more question to add to this, in the svcpack.inf file theres a section for : [ProductCatalogsToInstall] K######.cat What is this for and is it needed?
  6. Sorry if this has been addressed, I have done a search but cant find the answer I have alcohol 120% installing in winxp from a batch file Which works, then a reg file to register it after Reg file looks like this The program installs, reg file gets imported, but when i reboot i get the "this is a trial version" and have to run the reg file agin to get it registerd, Anyone see any thing i'm missing?
  7. haha oops yes thats what i meant For windows 2000 can i use : [setupHotfixesToRun] KB123456.exe /Q /Z /N KB13579.exe /Q /Z /N Qchain.exe In my svcpack.inf file Still learning, Got win xp working great....now on to win2000 Thanks for the help
  8. adding the CDROMSP4.TST seems to work, Thanks Also, does anyone know if adding hotfixes to winxp is the same as in windows xp?
  9. oh ok I know what i did wrong now, I copied all the files except CDROMSP4.TST The first time....WOW alot of trouble for a 0 byte file with nothing iin it. Just to test i removed the CDROMSP4.TST, made an image and the the " please insert your service pack 4 cd into drive A: ' lol, odd error CD= Drive A: *shrug* oh well i know where therror came from now Thanks again works GREAT!! Now i just gotta think of more things to add I noticed on http://flyakite.msfnhosting.com/ under Win2000 sp4 section that The file CDROMSP4.TST is'nt listed ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Finishing Up Navigate to your setup folder \AIO-DVD\SETUP\2000\Professional\ and copy (not move) the following files into the root folder, AIO-DVD. readme.doc spnotes.htm cdrom_nt.5 cdrom_is.5 (2000 Server only) cdrom_ia.5 (2000 Advance Server only) cdrom_ip.5 (2000 Professional only) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Maybe something to add, seems important.
  10. Think I got it SetupSourcePath = "\SETUP\2000\Professional\" in txtsetup.sif which should be looking for setup files.. I found 3 IDENT files, TRIDENT.SY_ , MSIDENT.DL_ and IDENT.HL_ Hopefully these are correct, There the only ones with IDENT Thanks for the help
  11. Sorry forgot to add something when I make the iso file with cd image i get WARNING: These two files are identical for the first 65536 bytes, but differ at some point beyond that. This could be intentional, but it might indicate that one of these two source files is corrupt: D:\AIO-DVD\PRO1\SETUPLDR.BIN D:\AIO-DVD\SETUP\XP\PROFESSIONAL\I386\SETUPLDR.BIN Which is ok because win xp works.... shouldnt i get the same for win 2000 exept in there respective directories?
  12. Ok now i'm really confused... I got Windows 2000 to work but, I copied The entire 1386 folder from D:\AIO-DVD\SETUP\2000\PROFESSIONAL and copied it to D:\AIO-DVD\2PRO so some where its pointing to D:\AIO-DVD\2PRO Which i think is why it couldnt find the files before, maybe in the setupltr.bin file?
  13. I'm in the same boat, keeps prompting me to insert sp4 My structure is the same as mavericks choice, not sure what i'm missing I copied the whole cd to hard drive then, slipstreamed sp 4, which said was successful, ran through winnt32.exe, changed $WIN_NT$.~BT to 2PRO and deleted $WIN_NT$.~LS (no info that it needs to be kept) and hex edited the required files, all ok so far. When I make the ISO, it boots, starts the install then prompts for sp4 disk I did the exact same for XP pro slipstreamed sp1, works great win 98 works as well, and all the dos utilities I added, ghost, partition magic and a few others, I must have made 25 images so far with the same result, any ideas? What am I missing?
