Cosmin3, please see nLite.cmd (compressed into NLITE.CM_) for how nLite determines %Source%. An even more transparent way is common around here that I copied: for %%i in (C D E F G H I J K L M N O P Q R S T U V W X Y Z) do if exist %%i:\sources\install.wim set CDROM=%%i: Just change the file name to something unique on the drive you are interesting on getting the letter. conrad77, your Last Session.ini indicates that you have Themes set to Default (DesktopTheme = Default||). You should go into Unattended Task, Desktop Themes tab and let nLite handle your theme. There is help in the lower right corner for assistance. I install my theme this way and it is active when my install is complete. Ponch may be correct, but I suspect the Default is Automatic. I do not know why your Theme Service is not running. I am on my W7 system right now and looked at my Theme Service. It is set to Automatic. Have you run nLite more than once against the same source? You should always start with a fresh copy of your CD files/folders and run nLite only once. Enjoy, John.

I am trying IE9 (Beta) under W7 and when I reply, the tags are not working properly. When I try to insert a URL it always ends up at the beginning of the post not where I am pointing. The code tag seems to pick some few characters outside where I want it and insert the code. Maybe just the new stuff. Enjoy, John.

Cosmin3, here is what I use on W7. Please be sure to check your Registry to see if it is the same and remember that you alter your Registry at your own risk. Reg Add "HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Memory Management" /V PagingFiles /T REG_MULTI_SZ /D "%SystemDrive%\PageFile.sys 2048 2048" /FEnjoy, John. EDIT: I tried to discover when and how this information was set during install and failed.

Dronis, I trust you have seen this from MS. Can you get into Safe Mode (F8)? If so, your driver may be OK. Does your error message (screen) include a driver name or file name? Please post it, if so. Have you run nLite more than once on the same source? You should always start with a fresh copy of your CD files/folders and run nLite only once doing all your work. Where did your CD come from and is it OEM, Retail or...? Enjoy, John.

catsado, the bad thing about the Auto Login setup during install is that it places your password in the Registry in plain text. I use Autologon.exe, found here, wrapped in an AutoIt script to delete this PW and create a secure one in the hidden key. I hope you know that you can directly use nLite to create an account with administrator privileges and auto log it. You do not need to use the Administrator account at all. I create one account that I always use and run the Autologon.exe script from the nLite RunOnce exit. The easiest way to do it is to modify the values in the key HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon to your other account. This can be done with Reg commands out of the RunOnce exit. Enjoy, John.

streak, I do this with Windows 7. I prepare my install on XP and then run it from my XP system and install my W7 on a separate partition. You need to be very careful to select the correct partition or you will bonk your starting partition. It is called a 'flat install' and I know it was possible in XP but have never done it. I suggest you search on "flat install" and see what you learn. Enjoy, John.

TheTaintedOne, I should have mentioned earlier that not all KBs will integrate with nLite. I suggest you look into an Update Pack for use with SP3. I run XP x64, so am not familiar with 32 bit updates. Hopefully someone else will comment. Where did you get the ISO to unpack? Enjoy, John.

TheTaintedOne, yes you should definitely be concerned about this error! You should get no errors running nLite or installing. Where did your source come from? Is it legal with a valid key? Has any other program been used to precess it before nLite? Did you run nLite more than once against it? You should always start with a fresh copy of your CD files/folders and run nLite only once doing all your work. Enjoy, John.

vinifera, you only need to slipstream the latest (SP3) no matter what your CD has on it. If you are applying SPs to a running system, then you need each and all. Enjoy, John.

Rafadecai, if you want to inject it directly using DISM, then extract (I used 7-Zip) the .exe file you DLed and then place the .cab file with the same name as the .exe file in with your other updates. Enjoy, John. -
THXMAN, I am glad you got it working. I have had no problem with the RunOnce exit in nLite and I have helped several others get it working. I suspect the Registering it is referring to is the Windows Registry. It is often necessary to register DLLs (set entry in the Registry), for example. You need to ask the supplier of the SW about your error, perhaps via a forum. Enjoy, John.

ragnarok89, in the future, please attach your Last Session.ini, not paste it (as requested in the BOLD RED letters above). Please attach a screen shot when nLite is running the SP3 integration. How did you create your ISO? Enjoy, John. EDIT: Here are the hash codes for SP3: MD5: BB25707C919DD835A9D9706B5725AF58 and SHA-1: C81472F7EEEA2ECA421E116CD4C03E2300EBFDE4. Please check yours. EDIT Again: This line tells me you have integrated SP3: Target = Windows XP Professional SP3 - 5.1.2600.5512 - English (United States) I'm suspecting that your are not creating your ISO for the nLited folder.

THXMAN, where did you place the batch.cmd file? It should be in the source folder (same level as the I386 folder), not in the $OEM$ folder. If you do place it into the $OEM$ folder, then include the folder name in the call. Enjoy, John.

bert, for us to help you, you need to attach (not Paste) your Last Session.ini as requested above in BOLD RED letters. In your case, please also post your Last Session_u.ini, but first remove all private data such as key and PWs. Just x then out. You only need to add SP2 before SP3 on a running system. When slipstreaming, you only need to integrate SP3 no matter what your CD contains. Enjoy, John.
