  1. What type of drop down menu do you want? What type or programming do you want it in? Have a look at the one on my site - http://www.graphics-tech.com Is that the style of drop down menu you want?
  2. http://jdeboeck.msfnhosting.com/ I've ran through the batch files from this site and then have ran across a few of the different ones that I was a bit unsure on. Ports Shell Images Music Players I know what Music Players are but I'm wondering if this batch file for "Media Players" will disable the use of other media players I were to install in the future? Ports, I know what a port is. Never heard of removing a port though unless these ports are totally different than the ports you use throughout the web. Shell Images I don't know about at all. I'm weary about running the batch tools without knowing what they're removing/disabling. I'm imaging though that shell images has to do with wallpapers maybe? Possibly even icons or ....? Thanks for anyone that has any info
  3. Oh I'm definitely going to keep it around. That feature alone is worth keeping it installed. My main image processor and editor without a doubt is Photoshop. I can create a custom droplet in ImageReady CS and set it up to contrain proportions but it is a pain in the butt. Everytime I created the droplet it returned an error so I'm thinking I either did it wrong or the feature is buggy (it's a new feature). Anyway though, thanks for the assistance.
  4. Wow. I overlooked that completely. I installed the program early today because someone suggested it "might" work yet they had no idea since they had never used it themselves. So I didn't take too much time looking around in it once I found file > batch conversion rename. Thanks for the hint. I'd have never even found that option.
  5. Yah. Irfanview doesn't have batch image processing for resizing images. It's only batch image processing abilities include file converting and renaming. Thanks though. I would use the powertoy that is available MS website but it only works partially. At worst case scenario it will work better than nothing though. I was just hoping for a program better than that as it degrades the image quality quite a bit when you resize them.
  6. Thanks. I'll give it a try tonight.
  7. I have a ton of images that I need to resize for the web. I can use Photoshop to create droplets but that will only work for so many images. The reason why I need a standalone image resizer is because I need one that will resize the images proportionally. Every image that I need to resize is targetted to be resized to 640x480. However, some images aren't those proportions. What I mean is that you can't just resize a 1000x400 image to 640x480 becase it will distort the image terribly. Basically, I need a program that will resize the image(s) to 640x480 and if they can't be resized proportionally to that size then I need them to be equal to or less than 640 pixels wide and equal to or less than 480 pixels all at the same time. Hope all this makes sense. A program that could do this can save me countless hours of doing each image by hand
  8. Hey thanks for replying guys. Wasn't expecting anyone to do so after I replied that things were looking better about the avi file. Anyway, I know I don't have a virus. Had a virus one time and that's it. I use online scanners most of the time and run network scans from a different pc that has antivirus installed. As for adware/spyware that isn't a problem either. Generally the only stuff I get there are simple registry entries or cookies all of which don't effect me that much. Every time I reinstall Windows for any reason I do it all offline. I have every one of the latest drivers for my system and I'm sure of it because right before I start to reinstall the OS, I download all the drivers to the hard drive and then burn them off for offline installation. Now... the problem with explorer.exe is beyond me. It has no set intervals when it crashes nor does it give any error message. Every error given in the event viewer leads to nothing when I search the web for answers. MCT - I'm actually pretty good with the command line overall. Just that was one thing I hadn't done in forever and couldn't remember it. I build mysql databases as well all by the command line. That's why it erked me not to be able to do something Now for Firefox, I don't use that typically. It's a very buggy browser and doesn't have anywhere near the greatest features I've come to love of Myie2. I just don't see the point in detaching myself from that browser to force myself to use a lesser one just because it's compliant with new css. And yes, I had the Xp cd in the cd rom. I'd have hated myself and never posted back here again if I did something like that out of embarassment The dll cache is fine as well as the error reporting as that's one service I turn off from a list every time I ever install Windows. Hopefully this thing just pulls a Windows and fixes itself out of the blue. Thanks guys.
  9. Well, the files finally deleted. I used a little program called Sure Delete to do the trick. I'll hope that the explorer crashes stop sometime soon as well
  10. Ok.. I'm at my wits end here. I've done everything I can possibly think of to cure this issue. Anyway, here is the problem. I'll be sitting here working on my pc and all of a sudden explorer will just crash. I've got a few corrupt avi files that I've tried for a week to delete and haven't even come close. Renaming or anything nor even safe mode work. On that note about the avi files, it's a twin file. I had backed it up to another drive thinking that it might have been a possible disk error by some miracle chance. I can't delete the file from either drive now and the odd part is that if I click on that file or do anything with it at all, explorer starts using 100% cpu and I have to end the process. After a while I got tired of that and set things to open explorer in a new process. I still have to end the process manually but at least I don't lose my desktop for a bit. However, this error with explorer crashing started before the avi files made it to my hard drive. I've just reformatted recently and that seemed to have done absolutely no good. Now that I've reformatted, the crash doesn't even throw back an error to send like it used to. Just for more information, I'm running Xp Pro with 2 80 gig Maxtors striped in a RAID 0 and one 250 gig Western Digital set to master on regular IDE. If you'd like to see more information about my computer, here is a link that will tell you every detail - http://www.pcpitstop.com/techexpress.asp?id=AB6BLWEBG7US4UVX Oh, I've also tried disabling Windows system file protection to see if it would allow me to delete and that didn't work. I can't remember the commands to delete the file at the command prompt because the file name has a space in it. It's named 100% Tyler_Corliss.avi and the command del i:\100% Tyler_Corliss.avi doesn't work Thanks to anyone willing to help. Edit - By the way, sfc /scannow doesn't work.
  11. I say forget Print Screen and get Gadwin Printscreen It's free and easy to use. Install it, press a button, click ok, done. http://www.gadwin.com/printscreen/
  12. Use Icon Package Explorer. That way you can copy shell32.dll to your desktop from c:\windows\system32\shell32.dll and then edit the files that are in there. You can add or delete files however you wish by right clicking. Enjoy. http://www.stardock.com/products/iconpackager/
  13. Well, Microsoft uses frames still so they aren't that bad to use I'd still stay away from them though as they are in their "disappearing from the web" stage. Some day down the line, frames will not even be supported period nor do I think they should. More browsers should support css alot better though as that is an amazing set of code to use. Also, tables should be gotten rid of and everyone start using the <div> tags instead.. I think the world is in a big turnaround as for the web. Things are starting to look better and it seems that we're getting closer and closer to a "true" standard compliant. However, there are multiple browsers in the world. Therefore, there will never be a true standards compliant rule of code. newdles http://www.webzila.com
  14. That's the mistake you made Buying a premanufactured pc like that is an extremely bad idea. Reason I say this is because they make it so that you can only update your system in certain ways. Memory, Hard Drives, Video Cards, Cd/Dvd Drives, Power Supply. Cpu can be used on another motherboard but you can't upgrade the motherboard you have now to a bigger cpu. My Gateway (I made a mistake too) was ready to upgrade from a 1.6 ghz to a 2.4 ghz and I bought the processor. Come to find out, I needed a BIOS update for my motherboard to support the new processor. No big deal. Intel released the necessary BIOS for the upgrade. However, Gateway didn't. Their BIOS upgrade versions only allowed a 2.0 ghz processor which, to me, was a waste of my time. Anyway, I ended up frying my board trying to make it work with the new processor and after that I bought all new parts. After next day delivery on all parts from newegg.com and some various parts and accessories from Microcenter right by my house, I had the new pc built, setup, tested, and running by the end of the day newdles http://www.webzila.com
  15. Why not just ask your friend for the style? All he/she has to do is look in desktop properties and tell you the name of it. Either that or zip the files he/she has and send them to you. newdles http://www.webzila.com
  16. Thanks, that was quite simple! newdles http://www.webzila.com
  17. Hi guys. Have a look at the picture below: http://datalore.port5.com/desktop.gif See inside of the System Properties where there is a Dell Logo on the lower left hand side. I was wondering if anyone knows how to do that or if there is a link to a known tweak or even instructions on how to do that. Thanks, newdles http://www.webzila.com
  18. http://www.oldversion.com/ Go here to download older versions of K-Lite. I don't recommend using this program though. It's extremely full of problems on the network such as viruses and trojans. You do what you wish with your computer however. newdles http://www.webzila.com
  19. To my knowledge, this isn't possible. There might be a way but nobody would take the time to figure it out and post directions as it would be pointless. All that work and the end result creates major security risks to just have 2 passwords and one account. Why bother having 2 passwords on one account? Why not just make 2 accounts the exact same with all the same settings and priveleges? newdles http://www.webzila.com
  20. If you're willing to reformat, I'd use a boot floppy and fdisk /mbr. This will erase the master boot record and should solve all your problems. newdles http://www.webzila.com
  21. Xp home or pro has encryption as well as hidden file capability. However, nether have the option to password directories. You'll need to install a third party program to accomplish those tasks. http://www.password-protect-software.com/index.html http://www.password-protect-software.com/p...ct-folders.html newdles http://www.webzila.com
  22. If you want accuracy, get yourself a software bandwidth monitor. I highly doubt that you are sending more data than you recieve unless you do alot of file sharing. I run a home server and it's always higher on sent than recieved. I doubt you have a virus though but it never hurts to check. Try an online scan before you go out and buy something. http://housecall.trendmicro.com/ newdles http://www.webzila.com
  23. Xtreme, if he could boot into Windows then he could back up his data. However, unless he can do that, he's going to have some issues. Like I said though, if you can boot into Safe Mode then it will be a quick and easy fix. There isn't anything majorly wrong but just a few kinks is all that need to be straightened out Well, I'll be offline until Friday because I'm moving into the new house I just bought. I'll check back then to see if the issue has been solved or not. newldes http://www.webzila.com
  24. Do NOT touch those capacitors unless you know EXACTLY what you are doing. Touching those capacitors in the wrong way even can knock you back up against a wall. Use EXTREME caution. If you don't know what to touch, I'd highly recommend taking it to a computer repair store close to your home. They will know better on how to solve the issue and have the proper tools and experience to do so. Anyway, see if you can't boot into safe mode. If you can do that then you're in great shape. Most likely it's just driver conflict but it could be other minor (fixable) problems. One other thing though before I go in too much depth, what is your computer setup? Namely your video card. I'd also like to know the other hardware (not hard drives or cd/dvd drives). newldes http://www.webzila.com
  25. Thanks everyone. Truly appreciate your time. newdles http://www.webzila.com
