There should be an effectively final update to this list in about a week, the only items likely to change after that are updates to .Net, WMP9, MSXML and VC runtimes.

According to Microsoft Security Bulletin MS07-040, NDP20-KB928365-X86.exe replaces both NDP20-KB917283-X86.exe and NDP20-KB922770-X86.exe and it installs on Win98se, at least for me.

Opera 10.60 has been released but didn't work for me, anyone care to confirm? If so it looks like 10.54 might be the last working version on 98se.

Classic bloat though, a 2.8MB file to effectively apply the /Passive switch, as per standard install you will have 25 activations before you have to enter a valid registration key.

KB976570 has indeed be superseded by KB982168, similarly KB974417 has been superseded by KB976569. However when I checked previously Windows update kept offering the superseded updates, taking another look today it would appear that this has been fixed. It certainly works fine at this end, are you yanking out various components? It's installed via the batch files simply because it cannot be integrated by nLite.
