Nice site, lots of answers to problems which is good But no answer to my problem I can't reboot, when i click reboot it just hangs. Anyone got any idea how to resolve this? I asked FatherJACK but he aint replied yet... Help!!

I get that upload with my DSL : 512k / 256k Yeah, as i said earlier, your ISP may not be compatible. Give them a ring, they will fix the bug. By the way, who is your ISP?

Argh, dont give up, never do. When i first built my comp i had LOADS of problems, like not sitting CPU correctly and fitting in Mobo, you learn from your mistakes, i did... Did you say you get power? Another option is to: Take eveything apart and rebuild it again with ALL parts.

Is it USB? Or did you slot it into a spare PCI slot? Have you phoned your ISP for advice too, they may not recommend the modem possibly...

I got another comp that is for work purposes (my mums). It is networked with my comp for net and other stuff. I built the comp myself but it keeps freezing, then after a little while it reboots. Its running AMD Duron 750Mhz, GeForce 2, 256mb RAM, 20Gb HD. Its a fairly decent computer but not when it freezes. Sometimes it freezes, sometimes it dont, this happens daily, some days it freezes then it could go on for about a week without freezing. Its on Windows 98 SE (Bah, hate it).

Ok... Sounds tricky but im sure we can work it out... 1. Are you sure all your components work? Tested them out on other comps? You got some heavy RAM there, over a gig so see if thats not faulty, try booting up with a single 512 RAM and switch them about to see if one of them is faulty. 2. Your HD... Where is it? I don't see it on the list, you need a Hard DRive to boot up. 3. Those lights at the front of your comp towe and mobo. Make sure they are plugged in from the mobo and plugged into the speaker on your tower or built into your mobo, thats where ya get the beep. 4. Hear your CD drive spinning? You should do if you hear the other fans, check that. This is to help with your hardware, im not too familliar with POST beeps. Sry, but im sure someone else will help ya.

I posted this on MadOnion but i prefer this forum I want to keep trakcs of my CPU, mobo, RAM, GPU and the other bits and bobs. Peeps recommended Motherboard monitor 5. Its alright but i dont like it that much and it doesnt pick up the heat in my tower or my fans or my Graphics card (GPU). You guys know of another good program?!

Well, if i understand your question, your SDRAM will run fine on your new comp (Thunderbird), i see no problems. I have an XP 1800+ with SDRAM and it runs brilliantly.

Well, i have 2 comps, one from Evesham (this one, XP) and one i built, AMD Duron 750. I enjoyed building the computer very much and would like to do it again!! It hada few problems with RAM (was faulty) but that got sorted Building your first comp at the age of 14 aint bad either
