  3. It's also blocking svchost from accessing the Internet a lot. ZoneAlarm is a stupid firewall, honestly. svchost.exe/Generic Host Process for Win32 Services should be allowed to access the Internet. It handles things such as updating the computer time and more. If you're displeased with ZoneAlarm, try Outpost Pro firewall. I can even give you a ruleset list for the svchost.exe to try that wil tighten the firewall and your computer.
  4. It's because they have it set to fix shouting.
  5. You have a top of the line machine to run it with new graphics drivers. You are overkill on XP, your machine is licking it's lips for VISTA My machine is not a living object, it is inanimate. I put on what I want and remove what I want to be rid of. I would rather have a top of the line, extremely well performing Windows XP machine that does everything I want, than to take a chance with Vista.
  6. Everyone here is going to buy it? Speak for yourself please. I'm not in any rush to upgrade to Vista, even though my machine is still top of the line.
  7. At this time you cannot, they are still set to 1.27.
  8. jaylow, did you manage to get this malware removed?
  9. If you like ZAP, try Agnitum Outpost Pro.
  10. Will this work with all ATI cards or is it limited to just that brand?
  11. I noticed that too. Wonder what happened.
  12. Problem is, Spyware Doctor returns countless false positives. I had a harmless shortcut to a folder I always use on my desktop and Spyware Doctor said it was a keylogging trojan.

  15. Anywhere that we can browse to get more information on the mouse? Edit: And that is to anyone who finds the information on the mouse (if any info exists).
  16. The down side to it being online is that with the browser window open, it don't move those files in use. I prefer to run a few cleaners, then defrag with minimal items running.
  17. PerfectDisk is actually the best defragment utility out there.
  18. It is an expansion pack, but it adds onto the game by adding another campaign. You don't need the original Guild Wars to play Factions either. Guild Wars: Factions. There will be a preview at the end of march. The end of this month you can preorder the expansion.
  19. FileHippo isn't marking it as adware. A few users looked into it and the results are interesting. http://www.whois.net/whois.cgi2?d=filehippo.com http://www.whois.net/whois.cgi2?d=ccleaner.com http://www.whois.net/whois.cgi2?d=piriform.com
  20. File Forum (Betanews) now marks CCleaner as Adware.
  21. Workaround for the installer bug if you are not running non-English Windows version: (Start -> Run...) net localgroup Users /add Install WindowsDefender.msi. (Start -> Run...) net localgroup Users /delete
  22. No idea. Hopefully they won't force it. If they do they're going to lose a ton of users and donations.
  23. I got the exact same result for the icon... ...and ignored it. I'll scan again in the next few days after the defs are updated.
  24. How many users do you think are really going to look for that? Honestly. Very few unless they are experienced.
  25. In a recent bad move from the developers of the Crap Cleaner (CCleaner) software they have started to bundle Yahoo! Toolbar. Many long time users, pc technicians, and even new users have been complaining about the recent addition of the Yahoo! Toolbar. With the inclusion of the toolbar the download size has more than doubled. But this is not going without notice. Earlier today Softpedia revoked CCleaner's 100% Clean (No Spyware, No Adware, No Viruses) award. The Softpedia staff explain the reason for the removal of the award in clear red letters to warn users who may wish to download the software. CCleaner now contains Yahoo! toolbar, therefore the award has been removed and the program marked as adware. Perhaps the loss of the Softpedia award and the outcries of the users will help the developers of CCleaner to remove the toolbar and better listen to their users. Do you think the developers of CCleaner will listen? No. After taking over three months to solve a simple bug that was wiping out settings for MSN Messenger despite a solution being posted on their forums, the removal of the toolbar more than likely won't be a top priority on their list either.
