i want to get a new video card so i can play cs:source, This Radeo 9800PRO is pretty good but im afraid it might go dead on me since some reviews said it overheated on them. any suggestions what i should do to prevent overheating if i get this card? good airflow in case maybe?(since i have a crap beige case with no fans.(btw my mobo is agp 4x which will work fine with the 9800 pro but the problem is it only has 2 plugs for case fans, one for fan on cpu and one fan that goes on the fron or the back of the case, i cant put more than 1 case fan, unless it doesnt need to be connected to the mobo.

but we would never know how it feels exactly on how to hold it until release. sure microsoft and sony have alot of their "m" rated games but nintendo has still got their creativity!

for some reason dust got in my ram slots, im guessing its from the CPU fan. i was wondering what should i do to clean it up. just clean the outside dust and leave the dust that got inside in alone or do something to clean the insides of the slot? thanks.

So today i was digging through some stuff. i found a Netgear 802.11b 16-bit PCMCIA card model MA401. Link, i was wondering what router should i get since i will put this into my moms laptop. Would the Linksys WRT54G work with it? im not really an expert on routers and stuff.

you could go cheaper with an AMD Athlon 64 =) + its better for gaming, unless you want to get the p4, other than that it looks good.

but i will still have those other 2 slots if i get 2x256mb, since the motherboard i will get has 4 slots =).

its low, but at least its "OK", better than 265mb anyways.

i was wondering if it was better to have 1 512mb stick of memory or 2 256mb sticks of memory running in dual channel.

my mom wants me to use it for school work but i also would like to game here and there. not any intense gaming since those kinds of laptops are over $1000 :/. edit:just wondering, are amd sempron's for laptops any good?

the only problem is i dont know how to do the thermal paste thing and hooking up the wires that are attached to the case to the mobo >.< im fine with 512 mb, and i guess the video card issue isnt really something i need to look at anymore now. probably some ok video card. my mom really wants to order from dell, not sure why but she likes it. This Laptop From Dell is what im thinking right now, ill put 512mb ram to the configuration. and im guessing the video card would be ok, something decent. the only concern for me is the celeron cpu, is it any good?

thats the reason. =/, i would like to get a new desktop. but i guess she wants laptop now >.<. she controls what i buy >.<. which sucks. i guess the video card is out of the question then, unless i get this from cyberpowersystems. pretty good price. now if i could only convince my mom. >.<. im going to try with This Centrino pentium 4 w/ HT from cyberpowersystems, i guess i shouldnt worry much about the video card, but then again gaming is mostly what i do with computers. Well i was thinking before of a new desktop, now my mom has told me why nto a laptop, >.< she changes her minds on things alot (ex: before she said instead of me upgrading, to get a whole new desktop, then she changed her mind again for me to just get a new laptop.) im not sure if i will get a new laptop or not but i would like to research on it. im looking for those cheap laptops that are around $500-$850, but i would also like at least 512mb ram and a good video card with it also that can at least play half-life 2 at ok fps. i dont want any of those intergrated intel stuff. i dont really care what processor it is, at least its something good with 64bit(not really necessary but would be nice). i could go for those $851-$1100 but i would want to pay for them monthly and not all at one time. i checked compaq, dell, and hp, but they are not that good. i tried looking for acer and i like what they have, i just cant find a store with one. X_X. so can someone help? edit:oh yea, a dvd dual layer drive would be nice too.

I would like to know which is best to pick out of the x800GT and x700. we all know these are ATi Radeon Cards. the x800GT just came out a couple days ago here in north america and x700 not too long ago. as far as i know the x800GT is supposed to compete with the GeForce 6600GT. i have seen benchmarks with the x800GT but the x700 gets more fps in Half-Life 2 it seems. Source Of x700 BenchMarks.Source Of x800GT BenchMarks. the x800GT has 8 pixel pipelines, not sure if you can unlock it to 16, but ATi confirmed it can be used for CrossFire. the x700 wont be able to be put into crossfire. im not sure what to pick here. someone wanna help me pick? Everest Home Edition Says it is, but im not sure what heatsink/fan i need to get, >.<, its been hard for me to pick one. im pretty sure i need a new one since my cpu runs at around 70*C, my computer lags so much at 73*C.

none of the zalmans work on the mobo i picked out. but i was thinking to get This Thermaltake Volcano 12 but im not sure if its compatible with my mobo. EDIT: How About This MASSCOOL WhisperRock II 5F263B1M3 80mm Ball Cooling Fan, its got so many nice reviews, and is very cheap like this one for example, and This Arctic Silver 5 Thermal Compund should work well with it. also another question about the compund, if i order the heatsink/fan, is the thermal stuff already on the heatsink/fan or is it like in a tube like the arctic silver 5, if its already on the heatsink/fan, what is the proper way to clean it off?

err, i dont see them anywhere in newegg, the ALX800 isnt compatible with the MSI mobo i picked out and the SI-97 is compatible but i dont see it on newegg. =/, and newegg is pretty much where i do my computer part shopping. but they do look nice though, ill look at other stores. anymore? edit: should i buy a seperate thermal compund thing for the heatsink/fan or use the one included in it? if buy a seperate, which should i buy?

umm, im not using laptop hehe, im using desktop. im planning to get This Corsair ValueSelect by the way. oh yea, just another quick question, do xp-m's work on desktop mobos too? like ATX and mATX? i was thinking of buying an xp-m 2500+ barton since it runs very cool and overclocks nicely.
