i was thinking about watching tv on my pc. i will order this Hauppauge WINTV602 USB 2.0 Interface WinTV-USB TV Solution with mono audio for NTSC video sources - Retail. but i was also wondering how i will hook up my xbox or gamecube up to it. anyone know how?
-
i am going to use the stock heatsink i order with my amd athlon 64 3000+. so i guess i will use the thermal pad. is the thermal pad already on the heatsink or do i have to stick it on the heatsink? also what is the temperature difference usually between using a pad and paste?
-
ok well i watched a videos on how to install a heatsink, but i noticed the person who installed it didnt put any thermal compund on the cpu. is it recommended to put thermal compound on? is it a must? especially for an Amd Athlon 64 3000+ sckt 939 which i will get soon. k thanks. edit:whats the difference between thermal pad and paste rather than the obvious? also, is it ok to use both?
-
hmm i guess i will stay with the MSI mobo then. i might order my stuff tomorrow night so if anyone has any suggestions, post away =D.

whoaaa thats crazy oO. i would like to hear from others about this!! http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16813157081 it has 20-pin ATX, how come other sckt 939 boards have 24-pin? i wonder what ripken204 has to say about this board oO.
-
hmm im not sure if 6 4-pin connectors are enough for me, but then again it is a very good psu, i saw it before on another website for the best bang for a buck listing. also, whats the difference between the fan being on the outside part of the psu and the top part of the psu? hmm... 2 case fans.. 1 harddrive, 1 dvd burner, oO
-
its either im pushing it or im just plain stupid to do this but its worth a try. im going to try to go lowest as possible with the psu, i found another which is $10+ less than my current choice THERMALTAKE TR2 W0070 ATX 430W Power Supply 115/230 V - Retail any good?
-

-
do u recommend any deccent low priced mobos?
-
hmm.. good idea. which one should i pick?
-
well no but i want something temporary i can use thats decent just until i have enough money to buy a good video card. also where do i hook up my monitor if i dont have a video card, or an intergrated because there is no monitor plug on the mobos. edit:whats the best and cheapest socket 939 mobo with pci-e x16?
-
lol my total price for my new built comp is $400 this is what i was about to buy but then the mobo sold out so i have to wait since i want to order it all together in 1. the harddrive i will take out of the my current comp since i have 2 and take one out for the new comp.
-
on a budget, no Asus for me =(. i might change my mobo later, its either these 2 for now.
-
well im almost done with picking all the parts for my new computer i just need help picking a mobo. i want a mobo that has pci-e x16 and onboard video(temporary because i cant get a video card right now) im down with either This Biostar TForce Socket 939 or This ECS RS480-M V1.0 Socket 939 right now im leaning towards the Biostar TForce. i was hoping to order this weekend but since the Biostar TForce is out of stock at the moment. is it worth the wait until newegg restocks its Biostar TForce with the onboard nVidia GeForce 6100 video or should i get the ECS mobo with ATi Radeon Xpress onboard video. Pretty Good Benchmarks with the GeForce 6100
-
yea im planning on buying a retail one, i wont overclock it(maybe later i will) since im on a budget and i just want to be able to play 3d games at very good fps =D. thanks all.
-
what if i bought like an amd athlon 64 3000+? that should come with one right?
-
if i buy a cpu with the stock heatsink and fan, does it come with instructions on how to put them on?
-

i want to buy a new system so bad >.<. i currently have $410. if i were to sell my current computer, how much should i sell it for? Specs: Amd Athlon XP 2200+ Socket A Thoroughbred B Biostar M7VIG Pro-D Socket A mATX with AGP 2.0, 3 PCI slots and 1 CNR S3 Graphics Prosavage at 32mb memory shared 256mb Ram at PC 2700, but runs at PC 2100 speeds 2x 40GB Western Digital HD at 7200 RPM 2mb LG CD-ROM Standard 400W Power Supply + 17 inch CRT(i think its 17 inch, its bigger than a 15 inch i know that), keyboard, microsoft wireless intellimouse explorer 2.0. my parents told me that i should sell it for $400, but im not sure because it seems a bit pricy for a low end system..

correct he is =).

Mind providing a link? All the benchmarks I've seen the 6600GT paces out the 9800Pro by a good margin. The only way I see it catch up to the Nvidia if the benchmarks were all AA/AF tests. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Linkage it shows no AA/AF and with AA/AF
-
Pay the extra $20-$30 and pick yourself up a Nvidia 6600GT. That'll be much better than the 9800Pro. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> ive read some benchmarks and the 9800pro gets more fps than the 6600gt in most games. not really, as long as the video card supports it, it will be fine.
