i want to know what is a good 450W-500W PSU there is mine is 400W and i think its crap, it runs very slow. My Current PSU =/. so i was thinking of buying another that is between 450W and 500W more if at a cheap price. price range maybe around 80 bucks but try to go as low as you can go please =). i found a couple but i dont really know if they would fit in my case. here is the size of my current PSU 5.55W 3.25H 5.81D inches and here are some of the PSUs i found: 500W Glacier Dual LED Fan Computer Power Supply ASPIRE ATX-AS500-SV 12V ATX 500W Power Supply - Retail PowMax 450W Power Supply with Blue/Red LED Fan (im thinking about getting this one but i dont know if its really good or not) Logisys Pitbull 500W Computer Power Supply - Silver

i didnt read it anywhere, i just though a very big video card would need alot of GHz to help it run more stable.
-
but like if i want to upgrade my video card, dont i need a cpu of about 2.4 GHz if its very new like the GeForce 7800 GTX.
-
thing i dont like about it is its 1.8 GHz
-
Hows This CPU? And because i feel like picking AGP =)
-

what if the mobo has 4x but not 8x? would it run at half the performance or full?
-
ok ill think about saving up more but This Sapphire Radeon, the sys requirements it says "AGP compliant motherboard supporting AGP4X or AGP8X". does that mean it will run on 4x AGP at full performance? i was thinking about getting this even though its kinda low for my friends b-day present.
-
heh, but i dont have a job like u rich people haha. im only 15 =/. the dell went kinda way over my limit there hehe.
-
hmm, which socket is best then? edit: i replaced the video card i posted with the sapphire 9550se Zxian posted
-
heh, i should have put im running on a budget, something under 500. =) plus 6600gt is very great, ive been thinking about it myself, but its about $150, kinda too much for me to afford.

Well i was thinking of buying a new computer and building it on my own for the very first time, was i was thinking was to have a decent gaming computer, i dont need those ones that cost like 1000+, a cheap and decent gaming computer would be fine for me. well heres what i got. (everything from NewEgg) Video Card: SAPPHIRE 100576 Radeon 9550SE 128MB DDR AGP 4X/8X Video Card Processor: AMD Athlon 64 2800+ Newcastle Integrated into Chip FSB 512KB L2 Cache Socket 754 Processor Case: ASPIRE X-Plorer ATXB8KLW-BL Black/Blue Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case W/ 420W PSU MotherBoard: eVGA 115-K8-NF31-AX Socket 754 NVIDIA nForce3 Ultra ATX AMD Motherboard DVD Burner Rom: NEC Black 16X DVD+R 8X DVD+RW 4X DVD+R DL 16X DVD-R 6X DVD-RW 16X DVD-ROM 48X CD-R 24X CD-RW 48X CD-ROM 2M Cache IDE DVD Burner Ram: pqi TURBO 512MB 184-Pin DDR SDRAM Unbuffered DDR 400 (PC 3200) System Memory Floppy (heh i need it for school purposes): SAMSUNG White 1.44MB 3.5" Internal Floppy Drive Model SFD321B/LEB Hard Drive: Seagate Barracuda 7200.7 ST380011A 80GB 7200 RPM 2MB Cache IDE Ultra ATA100 Hard Drive Is there anything im missing? anything i should replace with another part? This is a very good price too, all together its about $470. And also, will all of these parts be compatible with Eachother?
-
lol, im only using less than 300W to power the whole system and for some reason it lags when i put in a new HD a couple days ago, some harddrive that was sold to me =/
-
what does overclock mean? sorry im new at this.
-
yea looks exactly like that. darn, that PSU is so cheap, no wonder its so slow. even at 400W. thanks by the way.
-
well i was just looking for a video card that can play the decent games, not those high tech 3d games with a 4x AGP interface.
-
Well here are the stuff, i cant really tell which are which ones are the AMPS and Volts so ill just post everything
-
heh the only reason i want that card is because its cheap. i dont really play those 3d games, just the standard ones like, counter-strike (only window mode with current video card), Day of defeat(same with cs), prison tale(current vid card cant handle the game), etc. at least something decent, i dont need something top-notch.
-
Im kinda confused with This video card and the AGP slot in my motherboard, heres the thing. in the description it says (Interface: AGP 4x/8x) and my AGP slots only support 1x, 2x, and 4x. My question is, will this video card work on my computer even though i dont have an 8x AGP but have a 4x AGP? If Yes will the card give full performace or half? one of my friends told me yes and half the performance, and im just trying to make sure by posting here =)
-
it only list the voltage, what i mean is by checking from the computer is that is there any site or program that can scan the power supply to see how many watts it is and other stuff? EDIT:sorry, i should have stated this on the first post in this topic but im trying to find out what type it is also. Ex: ATX, MicroATX, SFX, etc.
-
in my opinion i think sites that show a video of step by step process on how to build a computer would be much easier, This For Example , but that one only tells you how to install a video card and power supply, anyone know any links like the one i posted except, it shows videos on how to build a whole computer? i think its more descriptive =D
-
For Some Reason, i cant find out how many Watts my power supply is, i opened up my comp and took out my power supply and it didnt show how many Watts it is on the sticker, and i dunno how to check from the computer. can someone tell me how to check it from the computer?
-
so IDE could be either SATA or PATA? and since that the motherboard will work with both SATA and PATA, could use an IDE on it? by the way, how can i tell if the IDE is SATA or PATA?
-
what about IDE drives? will it work with those too? someone didnt tell me, i was just wondering since i got confused (ex: http://www.newegg.com/ProductSort/SubCateg...p?SubCategory=5 ) when u click interface near the middle and theres a drop down menu it says IDE and SATA, i was just wondering what it meant since every motherboard i saw said SATA.... blah blah. and nothing about IDE. and ive never heard of a PATA before Whats the difference between all 3 by the way?
