hmm, my mobo runs at PC 2100 speed though, with the PC 2700 and PC 3200 ram, they should still run at PC 2100 speeds normally, right?
-
ahh i see, the thing im concerned about is that you said you had a situation with a stick of ram that it would work on its own but not mixed, why wouldnt it worked when it was mixed?
-
Can you plug in both PC133 or PC2100 RAM? The two are not mixable. If you've got a stick of PC2700, then you should be able to add a stick of PC3200 without any problems. You cannot, however, add a stick of PC100/PC133 RAM. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> so would it be ok to have one slot to have a ram speed of PC 2700 and the other slot to have PC 3200?
-
hmm yea, maybe the power is failing because ever since i put in another HD, i kept getting bsod errors when i try to run Counter-Strike 1.6. probably because theres not enough power or something in the PSU. but it happens about 5-10 times each day, it doesnt happen everytime i start the game. OffTopic: This Crucial 512mb PC 2700 any good? because my ram that i have right now is PC 2700 when i looked at my ram stick, there was no sticker on it or any marking that labeled what brand it is, it only said 256mb, how do i check what brand it is? is there a program out there that can?
-
I've had this situation with one particular stick of RAM. It works fine on its own, but mix it with any other RAM and the system won't boot. No big deal... just chuck it out (it's 256MB PC2100 184-pin). <{POST_SNAPBACK}> My mobo supports PC 2100/PC 133 ram, if i have a PC 2700 256mb RAM right now (no clue what brand) in my machine and what if i add another stick of 512mb ram which is a corsair value select PC 3200. do you think they will work both at the same time even though they are mixed?
-
You can mix and match; it'll just run both sticks at the slower speed. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> but people have told me they did that and their pc stopped completely. =/. i was also thinking of mixing ram type speeds and after hearing that i got kinda paranoid.
-
yes they are ram speeds Offtopic, Offtopic: SLI is where you get 2 nVidia SLI supported cards like the 6600 Series, 6800 Series, and 7800 Series. and you have to get a mobo that has SLI mode with 2 PCI-Express slots. AMD compatible motherboards can only use SLI due to errors when installing the SLI on Intel Motherboards, well thats what i was told. There is also going to be something called CrossFire, but instead of 2 nVidia cards its 2 ATi cards. EDIT1: is there anything i should keep in mind after i buy the Tagan and install it? After all, this is my first time upgrading something =). Offtopic: someone told me that their friend had PC 2700 ram on their computer, and bought a PC 3200, when he put in that ram, it didnt work at all. is there something wrong with the mobo or ram or something? but then again my mobo supports only PC 2100 and i have PC 2700 ram that came with my computer. and i shouldnt have a problem though if i have the corsair 512 PC 3200 in one slot and the 256mb PC 2700 in the other slot right?

Yes, it does! I've been playing just with dealge + granades for last month (or more), but almost every time somebody calls me a cheater, because i get a lot of headshots... I tink there is something seriously f*cked up with hitboxes, because sometimes a player is targeting at legs and he gets a headshot... Ofcourse hotboxes in cs 1.x weren't perfect either, but there were not as much headshots as in css... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> the first time ive played the game, everyone kept calling me a noob and no wonder i couldn't kill! those hitboxes are way off! well Here is a Video that reveals where the hitboxes are placed in CSS. =), that should increase you ration by alot =)

Could BSOD errors be caused by the PSU? OffTopic: what is Timing? Example: Timing: 2.5-3-3-7
-
you guys ever heard of the gizmondo? it looks like a remake of the N-Gage, its horrible X_X. coming out in August for $400.... EDIT: Nintendo DS will have the goodies in Q3 and Q4, mostly Q4, i cant wait for the new Metriod Prime Hunters =D. the graphics look enhanced. if only Valve made CS for the DS and the DS would be set =D. EDIT2: that reminds me, at E3, DS owners brought and played their DS at the DS station with other people, on the other hand, the PSP owners didnt bring their PSPs and only played the PSPs that were there with demos. =O
-
nah its ok that you went off topic, and yea i know i should wait, but do you think i should get the Tagan? i dont think my PSU will survive any longer cause now i keep getting BSOD errors. =/ Off Topic: Im currently running a pair of these (CAS 2.5 pc3200, just like the PQI you selected) at pc1600 speeds with no problems. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Looks like a Nice Stick Of Ram , i think im going to get 2 of those EDIT: hmm if i get This, does my mobo HAVE to have Dual Channel Support?
-
hmm, ill keep this in mind then, what do you think is a good case?
-
well, im going to be upgrading little by little, thats why i want to have a really good PSU since i dont have to keep buying new ones everytime i upgrade that need alot of power.
-
hmm well i measured it from the top screw to the bottom and came up to 3 in. so it must be 80mm.
-
Well then im going for the Tagan for sure =D. right now i only want 512mb ram, then later i will get another of the same. =), its just im not really good on picking things out since im still learning about computers. Hehe it turned from a PSU type topic to a Ram/Memory =O.
-
hmm, only problem is that i only have 1 place where i can put the case fan and thats in the back under the PSU and there is none in the front >.<. and right now im not really in the mood for buying a new case. well i dont really need alot of fans anyways cause i dont overclock stuff.
-
Nah, i got more money yesterday, so the Tagan is not too high for me anymore. =), and i read alot of reviews on it, and all of them got a 5/5 or a 10/10. So i guess ill be getting the Tagan then =).
-
Is There a default size to a case fan? i have a case and i have no clue what size it case fan i should get, i measured the hole in the back and it came to 3 inches. im not very good with numbers =/.
-
but isnt that ePower, new? Fritz said that "there's a new kid in town" and that must mean its new right? i compared it with the Antec TruePower SP-500, and the Tagan is pretty close.
-
wow, i guess i didnt take a closer look at that, very good PSU, thanks i guess ill add that to my cart and take out the Thermaltake =), its almost evenly matched with the Antec TruePower 2.0 SP-500 =). thing i dont like about it is that its 80 bucks =(, but thats my issue not e-Powers, thanks again, anyone know anyothers? by the way i dont want to spend over $100 for a power supply. (bah $7.00 shipping X_X) i guess the ram can wait =( OffTopic Question: PC 3200 Can Support PC 2100 Speeds Right?
-
hmm, 3 of em are kinda expensive, for me anyways. i dont like that 2nd one since the opening the fan air comes out. i was thinking about getting This Thermaltake, its not that good but at least its decent. i dont really need a very very powerful one at the moment. also it has alot of connectors . im thinking about having my final decision ready by next week on tuesday or wednsday cause then ill have enough money for that ThermalTake, This Case Fan, and This PGI Ram. so if any one knows any better PSUs at around $55 and is decent, please post.
-
umm then im guessing 1 agp, 2PCI, and 1 of that mini slot where you put the modem card in, dont know what that slot is. so is that Ultra X-Connect Any Better than the Enermax? EDIT1: im hearing too many bad things about the Ultra X-Connect. mostly bad things. 100 dollar Enermax with PFC X_X. im also concerned about the Antec SmartPower 2.0 SP-500, how many plugs are there? and i noticed its a modular, do the extra plugs come with the PSU so i can connect it to the modular, or do i have to buy it seperately.
-
link dont work =/ EDIT: i just found out that my mobo is microatx, not atx. will this affect my decision for a new psu? my case is still atx though. EDIT2: ok now im confused because i think my case is microatx because the microatx board pretty much fills up the whole thing you mount it to. but if you click Here which is my current PSU. it says in the description, "* Standard ATX Power Supply with American Power Code."
-
well maybe in 2 years or so i will do a CPU and Mobo upgrade. but no not right now.
-
No Clue what brand it is but there. i will soon upgrade with 2 sticks of 512mb but no clue what to choose yet since i cant pick the dual channel ones =/. and i have no clue on which ones are the good ones and which are the bads.
