was just wondering if my Rosewill 600W PSU be able to run this Gigabyte GeForce 8500gt. i might consider just going for the 8600gt, but still not sure. Is it worth it? Foxconn 8600gt 256mb doesn't look bad, only $30 more. I'm not really a hardcore gamer, i usually only play Counter-strike, Counter-strike: Source, or Day Of Defeat: Source My current specs: Amd Athlon 64 3000+ Venice Core DFI N4..(something, i forgot) Mobo Western Digital 250gb SATA 16mb cache 1gb ram pc2700 ATi Radeon x300SE Rosewill 600W PSU Would those cards be an overkill with my current specs?

I'm looking for an mp4 player to buy, to replace my current mp3 player, Creative Zen Micro 5gb. The reason im doing this is because my mp3 player's battery sucks now, it only last like 2 hours long and it locks up at least five times a day for no apparent reason. My warranty on this expired so not much i can do there. Lookin' for an mp4 player to buy. Not really fond of the iPod Videos that much. so what do you guys think? Cowon d2 iRiver clix i've been looking at those 2. Space looks fine for me, but kinda bleh, afraid i might need more space. i don't want to spend too much, maybe around the $200 area. i want a good stable mp4 player that wont lock up all the time like my zen micro and a really long battery life. i use my mp3 player like at least 5 hours a day sooo. yea. also something really portable too, that can fit in my pocket (: also a decent screen thats like around 2 inches. none of that 1 inch stuff. Microsoft Zune maybe? Creative Zen Vision:M maybe? [i don't really like my experience with my zen micro] not an expert on music/video players, so hope you guys can help me (:

I have a buddy whos looking to buy a video card with 12 pixelpipes for less than $90. He has a radeon, but doesnt like their drivers. he has been looking at this for a while Radeon x1600 128mb for $69 think its a good deal? seem like a good card? it has a GDDR3 memory type. would it be worth to go for the 256mb version? Radeon x1600 256mb for $85 or should he go for a different card? card seems pretty decent He is looking for a temporary card for now, and hes going to wait till prices drop for the DX10 cards then get those.

whats the difference between dual DVI's and just 1 DVI and that other blue connector?
-
found a cheaper one. i think they have the same specs, except one is SLi and the other isn't. correct me if im wrong Cheaper eVga 7600gt eVga SLI i know i wont be using SLi btw. my motherboard doesn't even support it.
-
hmm i guess there is not much of a difference then. hmm, i just read alot of reviews that say that the gs actually run better than the gt, but then i read alot of reviews that say that the gt run better than the gs. So i really get confused there.

the thing is i dont really care about DX 10 coming out soon and having a good video card for it. im only a casual gamer, but don't get me wrong, its not that they are bad offers for like the 7900gs. its just something i wouldn't really need. the only games i play are counter-strike, and maybe some strategy games(starcraft, etc). so yea, its basically a temporary card i don't want to spend much on. maybe until i get a job which probably would be sometime next year ;p. btw, i might get the eVga 7600gt that ripken posted. i also like to do some video editting for fun and like to turn up some settings like aa/af, and because i posted that one Biostar 7600gs was cause it has 512mb and a friend of mine told me it would be good for me if i made some videos, like counter-stirke videos for example because the card would be able to process it smoothly, but im guessing the 7600gt will just be the same?
-
if it only were that easy..... By the way, quick question, do games run better/smoother on windows xp pro or windows MCE?
-
a friend of mine told me to get this Biostar 7600gs he also says that i really shouldn't worry about the DX10, im no hardcore gamer. i only play counter-strike, condition-zero, and counter-strike:source/day of defeat:source. just a casual gamer. Im just looking to do a next upgrade in 2 years or so. Also i saw this card eVga 7600gts any good?
-
they are a good deal, but the thing is i dont have the money. lol. btw im 15 + no job + still in high school. sooo yea its pretty hard to get money hehe.
-
so basically everyone is not picking one of the two and deciding for something else hehe. So i'll just put it this way, im looking for a card that is around $70-$110 thinkin about getting the 7600gt evga ripken posted. trying to spend less since im on a budget. hehe.

I'm looking to buy a new Video Card for $70-$90 that can run stable when playing games like Half-Life 2, Counter-Strike:Source, etc. My radeon x300se is pretty much dying since i get alot of fps drops more often. these are the 2 that im looking at PNY 7600GS Leadtek 7300gt Price ranges are very close, but not sure which of the both are better. i need help deciding. thanks. I also want to know if my power supply can handle a card like those listed above My Power Supply

ok when i try to transfer my files to my external hd that i have on that 80 gig that i think is corrupted, it gives me the BSOD error, but when i try to transfer files from my 40gig to my external, everything runs fine. so im guessing the harddrive is the problem, was wondering if formatting it would solve the problem, or would i have to buy a new one?
-
ill see what i can do with the firmware, if my harddrive is faulty, could i do some kind of reformat to clear the whole drive empty and reuse it again? or will it still be faulty? because the 80gb harddrive i put in had an OS installed on it and i never took out the OS from it, just deleted the WINDOWS folder that was in it, and things like that.

yes already searched for it, but couldn't find a solution.

My friend has a problem. He has 2 computers, both are hooked up to a Linksys WRT54G router, and he was wondering how to transfer all the files on his 1st computer over to his 2nd computer. But he doesn't know how to do it. We looked through the linksys site but can't find anything related to it. Can anyone provide us a link to a site or give instructions on how to do this? thanks.

hehe, well i bought the Rosewill 600Watt one since it has good amps and good reviews. i just hope it doesnt die on me anytime soon. although i still dont understand how my old psu died on me, can someone please explain to me the possibilities? thanks.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16817182032 doesn't look too bad either.
-
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16817103931 pretty ok right? im just looking for a cheaper one since my parents arent willing to lend much money for me. and i only have $60. but im kind of hesitant on that one cause quite a few reviews say that they die in a month or a week. but if i do buy it, and dies, i will be able to replace it with the 3 year warranty thats included right?
-
im thinking of getting the ocz that you listed. how long do you think the ocz psu will last? so how did my last psu die? is it just not a good psu? also does the ocz have a warranty on it? i don't see anything there about a warranty besides the extended one.

k i got me a new psu and it works, yay!! funny cause my dad before we bought the PSU, he cut all these wires from the front power button and mixed em all up, but im glad we got it all put back together. i got me a TEMPORARY 500 watt power supply from compusa. im looking to buy me a new power supply but from newegg. The highest my dad and i will go is for the BFG Tech BFGR650PSU but we wanted to see if we can get anything lower than that. me and my dad like the BFG cause its 650Watt and it has a LIFETIME warranty. Now a-days i'm not up to date on any of the watts needed on a computer. So yea, my old PSU is an XClio 450BL ATX 450W Power Supply. Not 480Watt as listed above on my first post. My dad wants to get me a power supply that can handle more than enough power for just incase, i like it to be able to be ran under high use and gaming use, also for future upgrades. so at this point im looking to buy me a new PSU. i need to get my Temporary one back in 21 days. =]. I don't know how many watts i need but here are my specs. AMD Athlon 64 3000+ Venice Core 1.8GHz DFI nF4-DAGF motherboard Aspire Case 1 Western Digital 40GB Harddrive 7200RPM 2mb cache (Master) 1 Hitatchi Desktar 80GB Harddrive 7200RPM 2mb cache (Slave) 2 Case Fans 1 CPU Fan 1 DVD burner NEC 1 floppy 1 TV tuner, MSI TV@nywhere 1 Radeon x300HE 128mb (looking to upgrade to a Geforce 6800xt) 1 512mb ram PC3200 1 512mb ram PC2700 and thats all my specs. i think that should help you guys help me find a new PSU for me, thanks again for all your guy's help. i think i will prefer to get a PSU over 500Watt, just to be careful ^.^. especially since i'm willing to upgrade soon. Isn't there a website that shows you how many watts you need minimum after u put your specs in? i've run into the site before but i forgot what the link was, if anyone could provide me with that, that would be great. =]. Oh yea, 1 more question, why do PSU's die out? -Thanks All!
-
i think this is my problem, because everytime i push the button now, half way i push it, the lights and fans all would go on and go back off, also, my motherboard has this red light by the top left and its always on. so i think its the button thats the problem. right now im at a friends house since now i can't even turn my computer on anymore. Also, can you give me more detail on the shortening the pins, i don't quite understand what you're saying. i'm pretty sure my surge protector is fine, tried hooking my computer to other outlets in the house and same problem. So ill try fixing the button on my case, and see what happens.

i have a problem turning on my PC, just today this morning i woke up and when i pressed the ON button, the front LED lights flashed for ONE second, then died on me, then i started messing with the wires and pressed the ON again and same thing, i messed with the wires again, like un hooking, then hooking, and this time i press it repeatedly and it turns on. why is this? is my power supply getting old? i just built this computer a year ago. my PSU is an XCLIO 480 Watt. i just got home right now and had to do the same thing to start it up, this is like a family computer/my gaming computer so i wouldn't want any of my other siblings think this computer is broken because they dont know how to start it up. so just wondering if anyone has any suggestions on fixing it or figuring out why it happens, i use a surge protector which is pretty new and i know it works fine, i even tried hooking it straight to the wall electric surge and same problem. so please i need help. thanks.
