Findings vLite When there is only 1 version of vista on the WIM, "Rebuild All" should be disabled, whats the point in rebuilding all when rebuild would do the same job. Lets says there is 6 Vista versions and i clicked Apply > Save and delete 2 Vista editions. After if i click cancel, then click apply and "Rebuild All" it will say rebuild x/6 when there is only 4 to rebuild. After Install Lots and i mean lots of Event 1050 errors in Event Viewer Good News (for me anyway) Visual Studio 2008 works without MDAC and Jet Database Engine removed (no error messages) only tested with Visual Basic 2008 .NET though. Download SP1 from Microsoft, use vLite it slipstream it.... once done you can remove whatever you want Only integrate on Vista RTM if it has not been used with vLite before.

The thing is i dont want to have to use a CD or anything, i have created my own program and have placed it directly into the WIM itself, so when i install its already there, its password protected so only i can use it too.

Don't matter, found it lol. C:\windows\System32\UtilMan.exe Planning on replacing it with cmd (make another copy of cmd.exe and just rename it to UtilMan.exe and replace it) so if i forget my password then i can just use the "net" command to make a new one to reset my pass)

Worked Thanks. One time windows did take ages to boot up and i mean ages! but it returns to normal once done and i didn't have to do the MSDTC stuff as i don't have it P.S. Shame Microsoft don't release a fix for this

you can either reverse integrate it or get a copy (legally) of new vista sp1 disks which microsoft has integrated it already

he said go into the "C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution" folder in get the cab files which come with the updates and then you add the cabs in vlite so they integrate. Something like that

nLited XP SP3, but vlited vista should work fine. I had the same spec except a radeon x550 and i had vista.

I've alwyas thought of something like that , but it can be updatable... like you can set it to how you want and then once you've done (it becomes read-only) if that makes sense, lol. But nice idea.
