sounds like a definetly virus to me. I cant remember the name of it. All i know is it makes your hard drive full by making the infected files appear larger.

upgrading is always a better possiblity.

and system tray processess usually kill explorer's loading time as well, you might wanna check that out aswell.

thats the thing i cant run nortons because internet explorer has somehow disabled it. It wont load any virus scan what so ever. Dunno how, though but all i know is that Internet explorer is partly responsible for this new problem i got.

HAHAHA LOL! I wouldnt even bother trying to add it. Windows 2003 is a server and its better off with the classic logon screen anyway. It provides more security, as so i have read, tmore then the XP Logon screen does. And why would you wanna have the Welcome XP logon screen on a Windows Server OS? Wouldnt that just defeat the purpose of it being a server?

Yet no doubt. I have Photoshop CS on my compuiter now AND its good, very much the same as Ps 7 though. One thing i fail to answer myself, coz i havent tried it yet coz i couldnt be bothered, can u ope PS8 photoshop files in PS7?

whats your memory? and whats your processor speed?

256MB Ram Pentium 3 dunno the processing speed though. Yes i have kept my XP up to date. I dont know whats really wrong with it at the moment.

i had that very problem as well its very annoying. Now im gonna try that suggestion and see if it works.

Lately i have been having trouble with Windows XP professional on my computer. I use XP to do image editing and manipulation and college work and chat on MSN and browse the net. Lately though when i seem to be doing any of those or nothing at all, the computer starts to jag like hell. When Im on the intnernet (dial up) on for more then 2 hours, it starts freezing up and the internet crashes, not only that my desktop completly freezes. I dunno whether its Memory issue or a hard drive issue. I was hoping someone could tell me what i should do? Just so you know i run Xp on my 60G had drive, and i have a 10G hard drive which was originally going to be for linux but ill be using that for documents and web sites and stuff. Any clue on what i should do? As my computer is really getting on my nerves...

I've seen some fantastic screenshots for Windows Longhorn, it does look promising i definetly agree. But until that comes out i have to say Windows 2000 professional/server are the best stable os i ever used. Any others i try use they keep blowing p on my face.

When i had Windows 98 SE on my computer i use to replace the explorer.exe shell with a new shell. Coz i knew Win 98 was a piece of crap att. I used Aston Desktop and a few others, cant remember them though, my best bet would try Aston first, its quite good.

Agreed, Invision is the best boards. I eveen have it on my work's network Everyone says that its way easy to use and send private messages and post topics.

I would vote for longhorn, but i havent really seen much of screenshots around so. I wont but heard it will be better then all previous Windows Operating systems.

Photoshop 7 no question about it. It took me awhile to use it properly and ive only just discovered its full potential. Its great editing software to make graphics. I used Paint Shop Pro 8 at school for a digital photography class a couple years ago and it had to be the most unstable program. The tools were pointless and didnt contain most tools photoshop 7 has. By the way I read Photoshop 8 has removed some of its filters that Photoshop 7 has, so i aint buyin that.

I hope it doesnt offend people lol , I dont know if many of u have heard of the show 'the practice' but this is one sig I put together within 5-10 minutes. Just had to pick 3 good photos lol! is it okay? Does it need improving?
