Ive installed the uniform server! excellent piece of software!

well im running something else now..The Uniform server.

How do I get PHP and mysql to work under Apache? I cant seem to work it out. The instructions are in jibberish, and cant seem to follow it. I mean technical , and its not really that clear. I would use IIS, but it doesnt work on my system.

I want to run a test server for a forum where i will be installing mods for a forum phpbb2. IIS doesnt seem ot want to work on my p.c so does anyone have any suggestions as to what other Windows Server Packages i can use that are free or not free?

Try another cd...it could be scratched or corrupt.

Honestly start is pretty bad even if its in beta, i prefer google - simple and to the original concept of search engines- Searching None of this weather bulldust like yahoo and all that has.

Power Users are given privledges to install programs and hardware but necessarily dont havce access to everything in the system Windows, whilest Administrator has full access to everything. Your best best is to use a software that can (I believe windows security Policy management does this) only let applications on the allowed list run - so you can block out the uncessary aps. Hmm I also think black access to control panel too put some tough restrictions on it:) And keep the net up , and password some websites.

i use to have this trouble.... I avoided putting any defect cd's in my drive...That solved my issue with that:) I dont think there is anything else you could do from my previous experience.

i should see the directory of the webdirectory that it is pointing at it, still i get cannot find server.

i just tried that, it seems fine, but still cant get my server to run...I am stumped its never done this before. I disabled everything, the firewall my internet ADSL connection to see if it work, still nothing.

I have Mcafee firewall and privacey security..maybe thats the issue?

Hey people, its been ages sincei posted in here, but thats life. Anyway I have a problem with my XP operating system. I just installed the Internet Information Services so i can do a test installation of a forum package. This way I can do test of released mods and stuff on the local server on my p.c The problem is that it wont load the test site http://127.0.0.1/ it keeps on cannot find server. The Site is turned on via the IIS control panels and I have looked at the dependencies that i needs to run in the Services control panel. Everything seems fine there. What could be the issue here? problem is that i have enterprise already installed and according to microsoft help that windows enterprise edition will stop working if i install Win2k as a duel boot as win2k setup will most likely erase important files for Win 2003 enterprise edition.

Unfortunetly i dont have a CD Burner or a DVD Burner either, which means i cant back half of my files that i wish to keep which is around 3.45G. I only have one Memory stick which is USB with 128MB and ive kept the important files there, related to my current course for college... so the question is Im planning to downgrade Windows 2003 back to Windows 2000 due to a driver issue with this operating system. Now since i have like 3 hard drives, im planning to use the the FIJITSUI 10G hard drive which has nothing in it, question is: will my files still be able to be viewed on the other partions while im using Windows 2000? If not then i cant downgrade... or i was thinking possibly just format my e:\ partion which has win 2003 enterprise edition on it? What do you all think i should do? Sort of planning to do this tonight... as i really need to get this done asap. cheers dan

Just wanted to know is there any driver updates for Nvidia Geforce FX 5200 . Because in Windows 2003 according to Direct X 9B it has disabled one of the dll files (i dont know which one it is) but in directX 9 it says Direct3D functionality not available. You should verify that the driver is a final version from the hardware manufacturer. Has nvidia got any updated drivers for Windows 2003? Or should i just revert back to Win2000

pretty much im the only one that uses my own computer which is setup in the study room of our house. When my bro use to live with us, he use to use my computer all the time. So I restricted his account to standard no access to contol panel, only display and no access to the J:/ (which is my drive). He mainly only used it for Office XP and internet thats all he needed. The guest account is disabled. No friends of mine use my PC. . . . . Coz i dont have broadband only Dial up.

i have to admit though, it kinda pathetic the show, i have watched a few episodes but dame, it would be so hell funny live on stage!
