Even the mobile version of the "card"?

Friend of mine has this Lenovo notebook with ATI x1300 or something card, which is not supported in Catalysts that come in version for W7, so naturally he can't use the system at all. Is there any way around this? OR how to install newer drivers that don't support particular card by default?

Blue, I got an idea. Can you, in a future far far away, add the possibility to customize the installation (the name of the program implies total customization anyway ) even more by adding user's own batch files? For example I might want to move libraries from my home folder to another disk, which is doable from command line I think. It would be nice to screw around as little as possible after the installation. What do you think? Is that doable?

Unfortunately it happens outside of games as well.

Well, I have Logitech G500. It works well, but just occasionally (sometimes not even once per day, other times several...) goes bananas. I know it was fine in XP and Vista.

Ever since I installed Windows 7, my mouse behaves weird - it's totally random though. Everything is fine, and all of a sudden the cursor pretty much stops moving no matter how much I move with the mouse itself. Often it is just in vertical direction, but that's far from a rule. Has anyone experienced anything similar? Plugging it in different USB port doesn't change anything, and nor does reinstalling the whole system.

Any specific testing request? What do you think needs the most testing? I finally reinstalled my system from RTM to retail, and got me a new virtual machine, so... all yours.

Thank you. I got a suggestion or two to Blue then: 1) adding presets just like in vLite is planned? It would be nice. 2) when typing product key in, it would be nice if I could paste the whole string in instantly, without having to fill each box separately. Just click in the first one and paste. So far it looks ok.

Finally found some time to test this and I got a question - where can I download WAIK for W7? Is there a final version publicly available?

I guess you can read through the vLite and Unattended W7 forums to gain more knowledge. There are probably more ways to do this, but I am the last one to tell

There is loads of posts to browse through, but the info is quite valuable I think. I guess the way your tool works is to mount the image and then remove individual components based on their id and name, or something in that way?

You look serious with this program! Btw I assume the list of removable components and configurable stuff is complete already? There is a thread floating around where people disassembled the image into bits

When you have the unattended part finished for public release, I will do some extensive testing. Using 64bit Proffesional version.

Allright, what that kind of attitude I think I will hold onto something else. (and just for the record, it is not that clear, cause why would I have to enter my username when I want to modity files somewhere on the hdd...)

Ok then, I will have to try more and maybe get it to work. The popups is a bit confusing I guess, I meant the interface is a little weird for me - like I said the way vLite works seems great to me, although this tool is far more advanced in terms of what you can do with it. Anyway, what I meant was - I find it confusing to click on something, be presented with options, click again, "popup" windows with some description appears, click ok, then something else... This kind of stuff. But I guess it just takes some time to get used to. I still have some questions though: 1) What is this username thing when I copy the files? I don't get it at all. 2) How exactly does the addons tab work? It takes the stuff from current installation, ie. from the system Se7en_UA runs on? 3) Adding drivers - do I need to specify all drivers I want to integrate in one step? I assumed so and copied all my drivers (in separate folders) somewhere, then navigated Se7en_UA there. Result, it crashed without any message. Upon restarting and clicking on "list", I got error message "runtime error 339" stating that mscomctl.ocx is not correctly registered. Hmm... The program still stays loaded btw, so killing the process is necessary. When I get past the drivers integration I will ask further... I am sorry to ask dumb questions, but I would really like to get it to work, considering vLite being totally outdated.

Ok let me try to describe what I did in more detailed way. I took my W7 DVD and copied it to some directory. Then I instaleld Se7en_UA and ran it. The only clickable button was Copy DVD, ok. I got a popup saying "add your new username here". No idea what that means. Then I was asked to locate bootmgr, so I navigated to where I copied my files to. Then all the files were copied in the directory the program was installed to and that was it. Press any key to continue. No errors though. I started it manually again, command prompt opened again, mounting files. Allright. It finished, started again, this time unmounting. What?.... mount cleanup in progress... Ok I guess? Anyway the program finally started at this point. On the top I see a line with version number of the DVD I copied, so all seems to have gone ok. BUT I still can only click on Addons, nothing else. Everything is grayed out. If I click Addons, window appears, which makes sense But if I don't set anything and click ok, the checkbox next to Addons stays ticked. From now on it stays ticked and I can't change it. Interesting fact is that if I do this twice, Add drivers checkbox becomes available. At this point (and half million popups) I gave up, unable to set anything up. Perhaps I am just missing something and probably am too used to the simple way vLite works (select what kinds of things I want to configure, specify that further, and then click apply and that's it).

I tried to play with the program but it seems like I am too dumb or something - anyway this seems to be beyond my understanding and skills. First I wanted to create some username - huh? Then it copied the whole already copied DVD files elsewhere, restarted several times - or in fact it was doing something and then I had to start it manually again. This was about 3 times. Then the initial screen appeared again only for me to realize I still can't do anything. There are several tick boxes which I can't tick at all. Addons works, but cannot be unticked. I guess that's it for me, gonna wait for a program designed for idiots edit: also couldn't figure out the point of 4 help buttons that give me open file dialog upon clicking on.

Great! I was about to start exploring Se7en_UA tool some other member posted few weeks ago, but this looks very promising!

Allright, my W7 box is arriving early next week, so I'll play with this On a side note, can you give me rough directions where to look if I wanted to educate myself in this particular field? I might be interested in a little more than selecting components to remove.

So will a person like me, with zero knowledge about xml and all the manual setting/scripts, be able to use this utility in same way as vLite? Without having to configure it somehow.
