  1. I have recently started to think about an upgrade. There is nothing wrong with my current machine based on Gigabyte P45 board and E8400 CPU, but... It's an addiction in a way (plus a few very minor performance reasons, mainly CPU related). I can't seem to make a final decision about the chipset. P55 is cheaper and rather enough, while X58 is THE thing if you want top performance. But what are the differences between them? I know P55 is not very crossfire (or how is the other technology called) friendly due to PCI-e limitations. I would like to know a bit though. Unfortunately I am a little behind when it comes to latest technologies, so could anyone throw some knowledge in my direction please?

  3. From the sound of it, I would almost think others remove components in a different way? At least Blue said he found a cool way of doing it. I think.
  4. Blue, please make the product key save in presets too. This is annoying as hell And previously integrated drivers too (I assume it is possible). I often work on same image several times in a row and want to save as many clicks as possible.
  5. Oh btw. I am playing around with version 0.4.4 again after briefly trying RT7Lite. I think the start menu customization could use a slight revamp. For example, Remove default programs and Remove devices (it applies almost to all btw)... is misleading, cause when you dig in Start menu's properties, you just tick the checkbox to enable or uncheck to disable - the way it works in 7C atm is exact opposite
  6. Blue, cook us something we can test pls Like, more tweaks or something at least
  7. No, I just have vLite somewhere, but I never install programs that can be just unpacked and ran. Weird :-O I know that I ran vLite just to check something though, but how would that give me any problems?
  8. lol the program hates me. I started over and now there is nothing to remove in services except for Windows Search. I also do not see any grey components at all. Wtf!
  9. Oh thanks for clearing that up. But I must say it is not intuitive at all Btw how comes the whole process takes SO long? I mean I have been stuck at Disabling feature for like an hour already. And nothing is happening, HDD is not doing jack, and I do not see anything going on in Task manager either. Another thing I would like to see is possibility to save a preset anytime I like. No idea how it works now.
  10. I was just playing with 1.06. When integrating drivers using the "multiple drivers" button, if you select folder with no subfolders in it, the program fails to read anything and the popup window is empty, resulting in having to go at it again and selecting a folder one level up (or use single driver button). Also, when you want to delete all the drivers you selected for some reason, I believe it would be nice if you could select everything in the list with Ctrl+A combo. Shift+Home/End works too, but you have to be at either beginning or the end. Given how humans are naturally lazy, I would like this implemented very much Btw how does the integration work? Those drivers that are incompatible with the hardware on given machine are simply skipped? edit: In components removal section, what does grey items mean? I know the red color means it is dependant on something else, but the former is not mentioned. Also, when you select only some of the components in one specific category for removal, it would be nice to visually notify the user. I belive it was done by showing a black square in the selection box instead of standard tick (or the other way around), or however is that char called.
  11. Ben, are you cooking new version for near future? I must be annoying I know:D
  12. Ways of creating a ramdrive I meant. It just came to my mind to ask about a good ramdrive software And I would probably put Opera cache and some temp on it, but I do not really need it - I just always wanted to experiment with it
  13. Anymore opinions? Btw what's the "best" ramdrive software around? I know there is some basic way of doing it by Microsoft, and a few other developers base their own solutions on that, but surely there must be other ways around?
  14. This topic was discussed million times before, I know. I know that turning the pagefile off (which doesn't even really turn it off anyway) is a bad idea, although "noone" has experienced any bad things. Yeah there are some programs that require it. My question is what is the minimum size it should be set to. Has anything about this changed in Windows 7, say from Vista? I would guess it changed some from XP, this being much newer architecture. Not sure how/if are things different between x32 and x64... Opinions/technical details welcome.
  15. Comodo works just fine for me for like two years, are you sure you want to get rid of it? If I were you, I would try harder to find what is the cause of problems The alert, well, I always turn these annoying messages off, so can't really tell - but if you get Comodo to popup warnings about connections, then it indeed does work. And I am 100% sure it does uninstall just fine. Did it several times on 3 PCs.
  16. Same here! Installing some test environment now
  17. Oh excellent. How is the whole thing then? Close to finished? Naturally some amount of bugs will be discovered in time, but that is normal.
  18. Ben, can you tell me very rough estimate of next version's release date? From what I read here, it seems you are close to being done with the program, at least feature-wise?... I am asking cause I have a PC for my wife, but want to hold onto passing it to her until I can make perfect installation
  19. I think I will try to wait a few months after all. In fact I am gonna waste money on switching from Samsung Spinpoint F1 to F3 Plus new CPU cooler, so... No more extra moneyflow out from the wallet
  20. ****, how do I delete posts?
  21. I am really considering Intel X-25E. It cost a LOT, but hell it gotta be worth it. It kicks a** of new generation MLCs according to tests. And it is 2 years old already. OR perhaps wait a few months in case Intel pulls out updated version?...
