I wonder where there is no redistributable version of november's update.
-
I know how it works - very roughly though. Ten millions of files and registry entries, bundled up into packages of which specific os parts consist. People claim that physically deleting the files causes all kinds of problems, but I haven't seen such behavior yet, if you know what are you removing and don't get rid of something other things depend on.
-
What do you mean by "uses the packages to remove features"? The same behavior of Add/remove windows features from Programs and features in Control panel? I read both RT7's thread here and their own forum rather carefully and I haven't seen anyone failing to either integrate or install updates, unless he removed specific key system features. I am also not aware of not being able to install the SP either. In fact, there is a version which allows you to slipstream it.

Do you have any proof for that statement?
-
What's wrong with it? Not like I love it too much either, but it's probably the best tool for that purpose currently available. Stefan's tool is in same state as 7Customizer - dead.

I might sound like an a**hole, but seriously dude, can you use capital letter at the begining of a sentence and punctuation in general? It might just be me, but I simply cannot read such posts. To be honest I don't even try after seeing more than one line of this.

Anyone else having problems deciphering this post?

What are you planning for new version Ben? May I make a feature request? More tweaks for Start menu (Taskbar-properties-Start menu-customize). There are also two typos I found: In tweaks section- explorer, there is Programes instead of Programs. If you add Device manager in context menu to My computer,it says Device manger. Regadring tweaks, maybe you can get inspired for more stuff in 7Customizer (which unfortunately is not developed anymore) (see attachement for one of the sections)

I noticed a weird behavior in approximately last week or so. Whenever I click on new content link, it shows wrong results. Example from few minutes ago: New content There are 4 new entries since Today, 01:12 PM But I haven't visited the forums since yesterday night! It's most siginificant when I only open them up say once a day during a week. There would be lots of new threads and replies, but the link usually shows maybe five... With last visit being nonsense like an hour or two before.

Hi, maybe you should look there : http://www.rtwincustomize.net/web/index.php?/topic/7146-components-to-keep/ Edit : when you say "even with untouched image ", are you using intel hd ? If it's the case you should use the new beta of virtuabox 4.0 beta1 to correct the problem. You should find help here : http://www.virtualbox.org/ticket/2785 What do you mean by Intel HD? My board has integrated Realtek HD audio. IS that what you mean? Anyway the bug discussed in the link you gave me is over a year old, are you saying it is still not fixed? I am using Virtualbox 3.2.12.

I have no idea what ALLinOS is, but in my case, in the parent folder there is NO .inf file, but in the win7 one there are tens of them. can you zip that driver and send me? Sure, here you go: http://rapidshare.com/files/434437874/9.2.0.1015.rar (the drivers I am integrating are in the win7 subfolder). By the way it's the same for ANY driver I integrate, so it's not specific problem of this particular one. For example simple Realtek LAN driver - same deal, I have to select parent folder else nothing can be selected... BUT integrating single driver works. It's just the multiple drivers option!

Well, I was (and partially still am) confused because it's not SO obvious. I know it's simple to you, but not to me I mean, when you use the program the first time (or maybe when you simply don't know it too well yet), how are you supposed to know how exactly this works? How about if you add a simple line of text above the panels saying something like "Right panel works in the same way as Enable/disable Windows features option from Control panel, and if you want to remove something permanently, it must not be ticked on the right panel"? That would clear things perfectly. I mean, even people here gave me various explanations (like having to tick stuff in the right panel first in order to being able to remove it in the left). Automatic saving of lastsession.inf works and it did before indeed, but that is not what I meant at all. Maybe I misunderstood, but when when I click on Settings in the main window, untick "Save current settings", which ungreys the "Save as" button, I believe I should be able to select a path where the settings will be saved instead of the default location somewhere inside RT7's folder. It simply does nothing and no matter what I do, the file doesn't appear in the location I specify (after the whole process of course, I don't expect the file to be created straight away /it wouldn't make any sense anyway/). So my conclusion is specifying custom location of the settings doesn't work, unless I am missing something. As for the integration, let me try to make a few screenshots to show you what I mean. Firstly, let's say I want to integrate chipset drivers which are located att e:\Install\ovladace\chipset\9.2.0.1015\WIN7\. On the integration screen I go "Select multiple drivers" and navigate to the folder where they are located. The problem is that when I press ok, I get blank screen, just like this: Now the way to go around this is to select the whole 9.2.1015 folder, and finally there is something in the little window!: Voila! It worked! This really looks like a bug to me (not quite important, but slightly annoying in my opinion). By the way, what exactly does "boot WIM image only" mean? Like drivers that will only be used during setup? Or something else? Anyway, really looking forward to version 1.7.0.

I must also point out that the components removal screen is somewhat bugged. After some clicking in both left and right panel some of the features on the right panel stayed grayed out as if they were selected for removal, although they weren't (I assume the left panel is what to be removed and right one is turning stuff on and off, ticked ones being on). I am not really sure how to reproduce it, but I believe loading previous session was involved (that saving works by the way, but only to the point of auto save in RT7's program folder with no control over it).

Wow, good thing you didn't actually pay MONEY for it, or you would have really been disappointed, huh? Maybe, just maybe, there are more pressing bugs to sort out than your own minor quibbles. I don't like your attitude. I have the same right to express my opinion about the software just like anybody else. Just because I don't pay for it (do you?) doesn't mean I have to go around in the "it's fre so shut up and be happy" state. Besides, the specific bugs I pointed out are not that insignificant (but that might just be me). And I reported those several (like four at least) months ago, and Ben even replied to my post.

Ok, I tried 1.6.0 today after a long time since 1.3 or something. I am quite disappointed because several things are still not fixed, and I tried to report them more than once, for example: 1) Saving presets still does not work. Even if I click on settings and specify a path where I want them saved and tick the save settings box, nothing happens 2) When integrating drivers using the multiple drivers button, you must choose one folder above where the files really are else the window is empty. Selecting the specific folder with drivers you want to intergrate doesn't work. And few other mostly minor things not worth mentioning at all.
