  1. Well, O&O is still great. I didn't notice any performance degradation over last years. A few new features I do not use. It's still fast and efficient. I now have some doubts about Ultimate Defrag, because all the colored stuff they write on the web looks like from some bad commercial. Yeah you do have to promote your product, but in sane way.
  2. How do you mean?
  3. On the other hand, this http://www.disktrix.com/ultimatedefrag_about_long.htm description looks like written by Horst Fuchs, so I don't know...
  4. A new version is out. I only learned about this program today, and from first look I like it - especially the interface and the way of showing data Some more info: http://www.disktrix.com/ultimatedefrag_home.htm http://www.disktrix.com/ultimatedefrag3preview.htm I have been happily using O&O Defrag for several years, but if this would let me specify where to place files, I'd probably buy it.
  5. Glad to see you back Blue! Keep up with the development, most of the people in here are faithful Good luck to you!
  6. Do you have anything else constructive to say? /fail
  7. I don't know why he should. The applications are totally different. And there are not just these two. No, it's not that. Simply being busy.
  8. Someone summon Blue please Last visit on 22nd may is not very good. Yes I know he is obviously busy
  9. Well, I take the certificates as a way of pushing myself into organized learning new stuff. I am just starting really. I tried some university studying and gave it up after a few years (for various reasons I didn't like the way it works here), leaving me with no education and no work experiences. A bit tough, yea. I have a bit under 3 years of helpdesk experience and do have some ok general knowledge of Windows, hardware and troubleshooting things, but it's far from enough. I am simply trying to come up with some sort of roadmap for myself.
  10. 70% is very reasonable. On the other hand, I don't think that regular everyday's home use is enough - for example I have yet to find any use for Bitlocker or Backup etc. ) Thanks for opinions, I will run through a few test examples and finish reading my book. Oh btw. what other certificates would you recommend for a guy doing standard support in hypothetical medium-sized company who would like to eventually move onto doing a bit of admin work? 70-685/686 maybe?
  11. How much do you need to pass then? I assume I would have to take a look at the new features of the system, which will be covered at least a bit...
  12. I just found this thread. Is it possible to say what does the exam focus on the most? Any specifics, or really a bit of everything?
  13. Don't do it son. I have 4GB and even while gaming with 1.5GB free, I sometimes get warning to close programs because low memory. The system knows better what's good for it
  14. I hope Blue shows up again among us simple mortals soon
  15. Well... I do like overclocking. I really do - but I never did any extreme stuff though. It's not because of the performance gain. It's just for the hell of it For past few years my approach always has been more or less to find highest possible frequencies at default voltages. I am not that mad
  16. Bleh, allright I am gonna have to stay at home for over a month because of an operation soon, so might as well get something to play with. Shall I expect similar temperatures from overclocked Phenom II to those of C2D? I got E8400 atm, running at 4ghz.
  17. Just one more thing: let's say I wait 3-4 months with the upgrade. Is either AMD or Intel have cooking anything significantly interesting? Would it be worth it? Aside from a bit lower prices.
  18. I would try the HP USB format tool.
  19. I see. I don't care about USB3 or "faster" SATA at all, and I sure don't like the idea of an extra chip so that extra PCI-e slots or whatever are available. Guess I'll start new thread about AMD upgrade
  20. And current AMD-based boards have USB3 natively already? what I dislike about AMD is that there don't seem to be any 32nm processors coming in near future. How is AMD doing performance-wise in general lately? I remember back from ancient times that it always was somewhat behind in some areas, although the buck/performance ratio was good.
  21. Those are interesting thoughts, and exactly the type of text I was looking for. I haven't even thought about AMD since I moved away from socket 939. I have total zero knowledge about their current technologies, and it looks like I made a mistake Too bad I recently bought Venomous-X CPU cooler as a replacement for my current HR-01, thinking it would do the job better with newer hardware Definitely gonna take a look at AMD and what they have been up to lately.
  22. I know the socket differences, the memory as well. I didn't speak about that at all, because those are the obvious differences Technically speaking I don't NEED X58-based PC. Hell, I don't even need the current one What does EOL mean?
