  1. @anoymous_person: For making it compatible the resources i created were changed by zedox. Look into your C:\Windows\System32 Folder. XPize Darkside patches this three files applying bootscreen: ntoskrnl.exe ntkrnlmp.exe ntkrnlpa.exe Which file(s) do you have? I will attach a Bitmap of the screen during today. Please stand by i'm running Vista Ultimate yet... Edit: Attachement of resource so you can see how vistaesque the screen is - just black with smooth small scrolling bar. Darkside.bmp
  2. By changing the Bitmap you get the changed one... Or, rename C:\Windows\boot.bmp to another name, but NOT C:\Windows\winnt32.bmp!
  3. The Bootscreen used by XPize is applied by changing C:\boot.ini: The line which points to your Windows-Installation. Following option disables the standard bootscreen: /NOGUIBOOT The Option /BOOTLOGO stands for that a logo is displayed... both together will force loading c:\windows\boot.bmp instead of the normal logo at boot. Try to open that file in Paint(.net)!
  4. I did MSN with damian Yesterday lunch time and i say it now officially: everybody of course also damian666 can work with me! Working on the Beta1 was stopped since 14 days - i told him... Adding Features means adding bugs! Illness and absence from W2K/ PC made it not easier!
  5. imagecfg changes the version record of an PE executable. E.g. if you enter "imagecfg -v 5.1 ntoskrnl.exe" in Windows 2000, XP is to be faked via that the OS itself says: I am 5.1. Of course you can change the record of ANY PE.
  6. Actually i'm testing with Tihiys 2.x - no TClock! Just testing ROS-Explorer doesn't satisfies - and my cpp skills have to be improved This Prog will be an option fur future...
  7. Hello Where i can get the Tool? I'm owner of 2000 Professional and interested to use components of my licensed and activated XP
  8. Yust kidding, is there a tool or a function call (e.g. from Resource kit) which enables loading programs, dll or services from WinXP unter Win2K? Of course i have a copy and license of XP, but enabling its features under 2000 maybe very funny. Also it maybe useful running programs wich needs XP running with 2000!
  9. That's very quick e.g. with Irfanview... BTW, i try to bring alpha 2 (1.0.0.2) to you - i'm working!
  10. Hmm in the screenshot everybody can read your Windows public key... Should that really be published peyronnx?
  11. Hi Dave! No, your res is Ok! I meant the monitor image in 'System Properties'. Hmm... I honestly don't know how i can make the odd background transparent... Greetings, Chris
  12. Hmm, what about the Aurora Pack 1.0 (Topic found in XPize MSFN Forum)?

  14. Hello ! I haven't yet tested here using modified nLite installation as new installation. I'm having an extra partition - but it's more important the debug of source code for enabling patch from within nLite! If you have e.g. Virtual PC and nLite, copy a nLite'd Disk in a folder and use the patching routine from within the cX2K installer with it. Let me know how the patched system looks like! Does it looks like my modified Windows 2000 Professional? Cause i have to go into five day holiday - without internet i'm away until easter monday evening Happy Easter Chris
  15. @Dave.net: 1. Color scheme ist not including yet - what you see is my local modification. Suggest an example via a shot of your System! 2. The images are coming with the standard XPize resources. When possible in future XP-ish taskbar is available! 3. For classic startmenu, of course. New startmenu will be included in future when possible! 4. My standard screen resolution @ 17" CRT Should i reduce my screen resolution before i make screenshots?
  16. @Tihiy, did you read my thread "cX2K..."? Your Pack adds some nice resources and good featues i want including into newer versions of mine! Happy Easter, Chris
  17. Hello I present in MSFN-Forum Customizing Windows the future predecator of this pack, cX2K Please read topic cX2K - Modern Resources to Windows 2000 But now, i will go to 5 days of easter holiday Please standby, i'm back eastermonday evening Chris
  18. I forgot - with or without nLite? That maybe important!
  19. 1st: Patching is a must. 2nd: What about the screens of Windows 2000 server versions? 3rd: Because of 2nd the screen bitmap either have to be independend or need to be specialized by OS version...
  20. Ok, I'm going to remove the Server Family image. Also, not sure what you mean about "You should give me the ability to get the modified" ? Either you make the modified bootscreen public as i did or you send it to me - PM?
  21. For future installations maybe slipstreaming works...
  22. Hi folks! Related to the predecator XPize4Win2K created by me thread in XPize Forum I created from XPize Sources two alphas and one betacX2K. For testing and debugging, don't think its perfect! Since alpha 2 included some nice features - see here:Changelog.txt Like the older X2K this pack wants extend Windows 2000 at its best! Maybe in future also with Logon and Startmenu like WinXP MCE? The screenshot of my Windows 2000 Professional is not actual any more, and additional will also come! Please test this pack helping me with ideas, suggestions or resources! Tell me which features do you want, i'll (try to) make them possible! Of course i'm not in doubt for you e.g. cause of possible bugs Please, read the project site, see link the at bottom of posting! If i cannot give newest information here, there is it! You can download this cX2K installers: version 1.0.0.0 packed as alpha 1 version 1.0.1a packed as alpha 2 version 1.0.1b packed as beta 1. As i am german are my homepage in mother tongue. But i added an english language project page on my homesite http://www.christiankuhlmann.de/x2k/ Best wishes, Chris
  23. Should I await response by the experts or began creating my XPize derivate? Old name deosn't fit philosophy any more as i want dramatically changes! Hint: New Release of Windows 2000 Revolutions Pack came too late for the beta cause was compiled a week ago from now!
  24. Do you asking me? My WinXP got crashed before i could install XPize Darkside 1.0 b2 In Win2000 i can only brutely use uniextract with the setupfile, then browse the unpacked directory structure after that manually Reshack from 2K into a file in the XP Partition installation...
