Is that operating separated as a card plugged into your motherboard? Then you should try the latest Nvidia Forceware 93.71 - good for actual, almost actual and not very behind - how from there site see at bottom. I give you a very close link to driver at the end of posting! You - may try graphic drivers not supported by Nvidia itself - third party like Chimera or Omega but do that only if your card is not young - mean if you doesnt need support directly from Nvidia. Have you a driver (CD-ROM disk?) If the support URL in its Readme is Nvidia's take their drivers. Hmm... I have here the nv-fw_91.74 with my elder Gfx 5200 LE (Chimera/ Xfx). Here a little assistence: Read carefully the instructions on the NVidia Drivers website after you selected 1. Graphics Driver 2. Geforce and TNT2 3. Used OS (e.g. your Windows, maybe also an additional not-MS) Depending of your selecting is the upcoming driver URL. I need the files for Windows 2000 / Windows XP 32bit . Because of two different download archives, ATTENTIONs from Nvidia (copied from their site, without links, you see them there!): /***************************************** Please make sure to read the Driver Installation Hints Document before you install this driver. ---------------------------------------------------------- Users without English US operating systems must download and install the International Driver available on our International Sites listed below: * English UK * France * Germany * India * Italy * Poland * Russia * Spain /**********************************

Some graphic board/card drivers have extensions allowing transparent taskbar and windows, e.g. newer Nividia Drivers (as i use). @machkris, have a look at for the latest drivers (with utilities!) for your graphics card!

Hi XPero! Maybe you mean also the downloadable alpha versions of pack? Cause of Copyright issues of my older Logo i might cut them also off the net. BTW, I want to work (together) with Dels (and Xibad), do you know why? Hehe! Nice sunday evening to you, Chris

Hello folks! Bootscreen issue: Some processor architectures also uses file ntkrnlmp.exe. Is this covered? The "Server Family" text is related to the Windows (2k3) Server versions, yes. zedox, you may modify the bootscreen resources to make it "smoother". But: You should give me the ability to get the modified. PM me if you want send per Mail! Greetings from sunny Eastern Westphalia, Chris

Safe patching ntoskrnl.exe an invididual bootscreen
ChrisKuhli replied to ChrisKuhli's topic in XPize
Hmm, okay. Btw i took a close look into your installer package - fine doing with ntkrnpa/ ntoskrnl. But, the bootscreens differs between WinXP and Win2K. But for that i will ask in the neighbourhood... -
Safe patching ntoskrnl.exe an invididual bootscreen
ChrisKuhli replied to ChrisKuhli's topic in XPize
I need a method that runs for slipstreaming - what betas of my pack should support. This thread is NOT WinXP related but Customizing. The intention is: What are the technician thinking - and should ntoskrnl edited via a script running in a XPize Installer - or mustn't? -

Safe patching ntoskrnl.exe an invididual bootscreen
ChrisKuhli replied to ChrisKuhli's topic in XPize
Err - after posting that i realized that is not a XPize related topic... But - here in this MSFN part XPize maybe is using Reshacker ontopic? Btw zedox are you interested using that method in future versions of your pack integrating my Darkside-Bootscreen Darkside.rar (attached of posting in former thread of you)? -
What's about patching ntoskrnl.exe for an own bootscreen from within an installation of (my) pack(s)? I don't think it's too dangerous, i would do it like TuneUP Styler does: Copy original file to safe place, e.g. ntoskrno.exe <- Other names i should know? E.g. multiple processors kernels... patching new copy of original file NewKrnl.exe with new Screen Of course changing boot.ini, to this: [boot loader] timeout=30 default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(6)\WINNT [operating systems] multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(6)\WINNT="Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional" /fastdetect /Kernel=NewKrnl.exe multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(6)\WINNT="Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional (Old Bootscreen)" /fastdetect Hmm?

[Release] XPize4Win2K 1.0.0 , stable: Windows 2000 to future
ChrisKuhli replied to ChrisKuhli's topic in XPize
Back to the PC (and forum) i found out that i broke the link here, to the actual alpha 1.0a9! @-I-: If you unpack the Source you see what i did. I stripped from original XIS Source the uxtheme support, the theme, TaskswitchPro, altered the desktop bitmap and screensaver, and changed the branding "XP" from msgina and explorer to 2000 also Whistler to Neptune -
Cause i'm back of some days without computer i can help with the german language extracted .rc of sysdm.cpl: hack of sysdm.cpl begins hack of sysdm.cpl ends hack of shell32.dll begins hack of shell32.dll ends But while my actualstandard Win2000-Installation includes my own alpha version XPize4Win2K Pack i have to do an additional install (have a free partition for your Pack). BTW i will use the new opensource XPize for making betas of my pack, wait few days then i will post more in a neighbour thread (or a pointer to its thread in XPize forum)... EDIT: Inserted resources in german language

This posting could be deleted, read that after it...
-
My "Addon" is XIS stripped - without XP or XPize dependancies. Actual installation of XPize4Win2K runs very well (I'm changing resources yet)! Current development of XPize4Win2K goes to standalone but XPize must be Open Source for it because some of that functions are needed for my pack... At this time it doesn't need XPize nor ships it. XPize itself can be installed on W2K - but thats (a little bit) crazy.
-
@Kiki: Have you an installation fo Win2K where you can test my pack? Its at moment only few modified of XIS...
-
I can take the .rc files from my original files with Reshacker. Should I post that here? Will do then! Another issue: I'm a quick HTML coder - interested in that skills for your vista pack homepage?
-
Kiki i'm trying yet creating a XI.rar/w XIS jumping on 2K. Slipstreaming would mean it will depends on orginal XPize - which patches and my special "overhead". Are you interested to work with? See in the my (own) actual thread (rewritten since X-Mas)...

[Release] XPize4Win2K 1.0.0 , stable: Windows 2000 to future
ChrisKuhli replied to ChrisKuhli's topic in XPize
Hello -I-! I already read the postings in this thread but i doesn't wnated yet to delete at this time. I know the projects like Windows 2000 Revolutions Pack, the Vistapack for Windows 2000 and former known X2K. Because of the hassle of the Windows Genuine DISadvantage that begins in the second decade of this century with Windows XP either i will then never use Windows any more - or i step from older MS-OS to the older I think also Windows 2000 is very fine and should never end. You must know i use nLite, and will test HFSLIP. In reason of some issues no unofficial packs maybe created at this time! A lot german sites did that for years (of course without official support) but now MS-Germany said them to stop that! Ever i use only MSFN for Win2k packages they does more then patch and i doesn't host anything in germany Microosft maybe not amused! I will, want and do create packages patching Win2K! But not-MS service packs are in a dark zone. Greetings from 1°C Germany, Chris -
I will XPize an installation of W2K - be honest
-
btw (at little) offtopic: will there be any new answers/ postings in my edited thread?

[Release] XPize4Win2K 1.0.0 , stable: Windows 2000 to future
ChrisKuhli replied to ChrisKuhli's topic in XPize
Hello again! The complete start posting is rewritten Now i really begin to try the development - Join to help me please... You want test? Don't need to ask per PM - try to download from my german language homepage, section, Programmierung. Hopefully i don't go out of my bandwith... When 4 Gigabytes are exceeded my homepage is deactivated until i pay an amount to my provider. Can anybody help me with a good amount? Having resources for me? Post here and/ or write more! Actually my package is based on the XPero Installer System. The first Alpha 4 is XPize4Win2K_1.0a4.rar (4.8 MB Size) including the file XPize4Win2k_installer.exe which takes over the Resources of the installed Windows 2000. Thank you if any support! -
zedox, should i wait before i begin that work?
-
@anoymous_person: In a post above i attached the file Darkside.rar with some bitmaps for an own bootscreen. If you are able of using Booteditor or Reshacker, give it a try!
-
But, cause of technical issues is it needed to include XPize itself? I mean i you doesn't have integrated XPize before?
-
Another issue: The sysdm.cpl speeks dutch in my german Windows: "Algemeen" instead of "Allgemein" "Verwaardigt en ondersteund door " instead of "Hergestellt und unterstützt durch": How can be that solved?
