NVIDIA GeForce RTX error code 43 on Windows 10 version 1607
halohalo replied to halohalo's topic in Windows 10
R470 ended at 475.14. R565 belongs to new feature branch, so it will be replaced by next driver branch which supports Blackwell GPUs released at 2025. NVIDIA still provides new security updates for R535, but it is a matter of time that NVIDIA will completely remove compatibility with old versions of Windows 10. -
Now I know why I couldn't find any new BIOS files for Intel NUC 10 released by ASUS. I have to type correct model number like NUC10I3FNH instead of using the incomplete search UI. Latest BIOS is 0065. https://www.asus.com/support/

Different OS version has different compatibility. For example, the control panel of Audigy Rx works perfect on 1607, but on 21H2 the EQ only supports 2ch and always resets to 2ch after reboot.
-
I don't have to disable Windows Firewall and Base Filtering Engine services after using WUB on 21H2.
-
Have you tried Windows Update Blocker? WUB 1.7 works on 21H2 without problem. You can also pause Windows Update until EOS by editing registry. You can check here first: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\WindowsUpdate\UX\Settings Then editing PauseFeatureUpdatesEndTime, PauseQualityUpdatesEndTime, and PauseUpdatesExpiryTime. But I prefer disabling WU instead of pausing it.

My summary of DP to HDMI converter or adapters. MCDP2800 on Intel NUC 10 supports HDR, WCG, and HBR audio by HDMI passthrough. LINDY 41062 DP to HDMI with HDR active adapter with Parade PS186 supports HDR and WCG, but HBR audio by HDMI passthrough doesn't work when playing UHD Blu-ray discs. Besides, I have to switch to DP before HDCP check completes. Cable Matters 102101-BLK with Synaptics VMM7100 supports HDR and HBR audio by HDMI passthrough, but WCG doesn't work when HDR is enabled. Stop using SRGB mode before playing UHD Blu-ray discs improves stability and makes it possible to watch SDR UHD Blu-ray discs with WCG. However, firmware 7.02.130 from Club3D CAC-1087 is necessary, so I will recommend using CAC-1087. Club3D CAC-1080 with MCDP2900 only supports SDR UHD Blu-ray disc when using firmware 11.116.009 HDR. With Club3D's support I got last firmware 11.116.014, but the stuttering and lagging issue broke the compatibility of SDR UHD Blu-ray playback. Just like Cable Matters 102101-BLK, WCG doesn't work when HDR is enabled. Besides, playing Blu-ray discs or HDR UHD Blu-ray discs usually results in blank screen without signal, so I couldn't check HBR audio related issues. Apparently, the adapter and PowerDVD 22 have compatibility problem on this motherboard. I think Club3D CAC-1087 will be an ideal solution on Windows 10 with Windows HDR. But I noticed that my Cable Matters 102101-BLK is too bright and color is not vivid on SRGB mode, so other adapters using VMM7100 may have same problem.

I spent several months solving stuttering and lagging issue in 2024. My conclusion is ME firmware, BIOS, processor microcode, adapter's firmware, and the temperature of optical disc drive are all involved. Anyway, I think I've solved the annoying problem. Here is my latest hardware and driver combination of desktop PC. Intel Core i5-10400 ASUS Rog Strix Z490-F Gaming BIOS 3001 (modifying SGX options required for 1607, microcode FC, Intel GOP driver 1112) Intel ME 14.1.72.2287 Chipset INF Utility (10.1.18793.8276) Intel Graphics DCH drivers (31.0.101.2111) Intel Display Audio (10.27.0.14) Intel Network Adapter driver for Windows 10 (29.1) Intel Serial IO driver (30.100.2020.7) Intel Management Engine Interface driver (1937.14.0.1350, for DELL Vostro 3590) Intel SGX driver for Windows (2.15.100.4) Realtek HDA driver for Windows Vista/7 (6.0.9239.1) About graphics driver, I tried 31.0.101.2114 to 31.0.101.2130 and no one could replace outdated 31.0.101.2111. The result is discouraging. In device manager, the driver for Intel Management Engine Interface can be replaced by 2406.5.5.0 for Windows 8 with modified INF file. Unlike Intel NUC 10, there is no perfect DP to HDMI adapter for 10th Gen Intel desktop processors on 1607. Because HBR audio related issue was solved after 2021, and Windows HDR already replaced vendor API HDR. I tried to find an ideal adapter which supports Intel API HDR, WCG, and HBR audio by HDMI passthrough, and my conclusion is it does not exist.

I have no idea about it. However, if your Visual Studio 2022 Community Installer only supports 1903 and higher, it may not satisfy your needs. The Visual Studio Community edition is supported only on the Current Channel. https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/troubleshoot/developer/visualstudio/general/visual-studio-2022-unsupported-operating-systems https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/visualstudio/productinfo/vs-servicing#long-term-servicing-channel-ltsc-support

I've updated the firmware of Cable Matters 102101-BLK from official 7.02.120 to 7.02.130 made for Club 3D CAC-1087, and completely solved the choppy playback problem. But VMM7100 still can't display wide color gamut on 1607.

NVIDIA GeForce RTX error code 43 on Windows 10 version 1607
halohalo replied to halohalo's topic in Windows 10
Finally, I found an ideal UE tweaks from the web page. https://github.com/Toetje585/paliatweaks So I modify Engine.ini and successfully reduce stutters in P3R. [SystemSettings] D3D12.PSO.DiskCache=1 D3D12.PSO.DriverOptimizedDiskCache=1 r.TextureStreaming=1 r.ShaderPipelineCache.Enabled=1 r.ShaderPipelineCache.StartupMode=3 However, modifying dxvk.conf and using R550 driver are still necessary. Now I am using latest 553.00 Vulkan beta driver. -
Windows 7 on an Intel 13th Gen i5-13400F possible?
halohalo replied to alexthetechie1's topic in Windows 7
If you successfully installed Windows 7 on the motherboard. You have to face the fact that no device drivers available for Windows 7. RTX 4060 only has DCH driver which requires Windows 10 x64 1803 or later. I219-V has 27 variations, but Windows 7 driver only supports 7 variations. Only Realtek HDA has no problem. -
Club3D CAC-1080 adapter using MCDP2900 results in black screen without signal when using Intel API HDR, so I can't test HBR audio pass through by HDMI. But the adapter has no problem playing SDR UHD Blu-ray discs. Unlike Lindy 41062 DP adapter, Club3D CAC-1080 adapter can switch to 4K60Hz, but using 4K60Hz is unstable. The main reason of noise and choppy playback is overheat of UHD Blu-ray drive. I finally solved the problem after updating BIOS, ME firmware, latest CPU microcode, and switching off PSU after update completed. Only Cable Matters 102101-BLK still has noise and choppy playback problem, so I think using the adapter for UHDBD playback is not a good idea.

However, GeForce RTX 3050 OEM is not on the support list. So it will be a problem.

NVIDIA GeForce RTX error code 43 on Windows 10 version 1607
halohalo replied to halohalo's topic in Windows 10
Now the original driver download section and advanced driver search will be redirected to new driver download section. So it will be difficult to find standard style driver released before 2022 for Windows 10 1511 and 1507. -
NVIDIA released 474.88 only for GeForce RTX 3050 GPU in 2024.
-
If you compared INF files for Windows 10 and Windows 7, you will find the answer. Unlike Windows 10, the driver for Windows 7 only supports GeForce RTX 3050 Laptop GPU for one pc maker. GeForce RTX 3050Ti Laptop GPU was launched before driver branch R470, so only users of Windows7 can find out the truth. But it is difficult than discrete graphics card because there is no universal INF file for laptop GPUs.
-
I've checked all INF files in 475.14 for Windows 7, and nvlai.inf already contains GeForce RTX 3050 Laptop GPU so I think there is no need to modify INF file. The most interesting thing is official advanced driver search and we all know 3080Ti laptop, 3070Ti laptop, and 3050Ti laptop are not supported, and I found no information about these GPUs in INF files. But the release notes contains 3050Ti laptop since 473.04. In fact, 3050Ti laptop GPU was launched before R470, which means the wrong information exists before 2022. 3080Ti laptop and 3070Ti laptop use same section number, and 3050Ti uses unique section number. If these GPUs are supported, I think finding the correct section number in nvbli.inf is the first step. When I found the correct section number for 1660Ti in R410, no one knows 1660Ti can work with driver branch R410 on Windows 10 1607. If users can prove the correct section number exists and the installation is blocked by error code 43, then modifying nvlddmkm.sys will be the difficult next step. However, maybe the true fact is there is no correct section number for these GPUs. One more thing, 475.14 for Windows 7 supports 3 variations of GeForce RTX 3060 Laptop GPU, but the GPU has four variations.

NVIDIA GeForce RTX error code 43 on Windows 10 version 1607
halohalo replied to halohalo's topic in Windows 10
If you checked nvlddmkm.sys for Windows 10, you should know it is completely different with nvlddmkm.sys for Windows 7. Just install 475.14 for Windows 7 when you use 3080 on Windows 7 SP1 x64. -

Redesigned NVIDIA driver download section doesn't contain driver type option, which means it can't show non-DCH driver download links of R470 or earlier driver branch when DCH driver is available. Intel no longer fixes security vulnerabilities for 6th gen processor graphics. Besides, Intel dropped support for 7th gen processor graphics at March. https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000005733/graphics.html

Intel's Wifi x64 driver 22.160.0 and later require new functions, so you need Windows 10 version 1803 x64 or later instead of Windows 8.1. If you want to try 22.150.0 or earlier, you have to check compatibility first and make sure it doesn't use functions which don't exist in Windows 8.1. Besides, using old WiFi drivers with security vulnerabilities is not a good idea.

AMD supports POPCNT and SSE4a at same time, but someone tried installing 24H2 with Athron II X4 605 and failed. NVIDIA has same limitation beginning with driver branch R555. https://nvidia.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/5554

I tried to replace Lindy 41062 DP adapter with Cable Matters 102101-BLK (VMM7100). The result is VMM7100 can't support wide gamut when using Intel API HDR. Besides, obliviously the new DP adapter has same problem like Lindy 41062 DP adapter, so they can't transfer lossless compression audio when playing UHD Blu-ray discs on PC. Latest ROG STRIX Z490-F GAMING BIOS 3001 including the patch for the LogoFAIL vulnerabilities broke the compatibility with Lindy 41062 DP adapter, so I need a new DP adapter to replace it. But DP adapters using VMM7100 are worse than my old DP adapter. Intel's new WiFi driver can't work on 1607 because it uses new functions from 1803, like IoGetDriverDirectory.

NVIDIA GeForce RTX error code 43 on Windows 10 version 1607
halohalo replied to halohalo's topic in Windows 10
Finally I think I've solved the shader compilation stutter issue in P3R. I edited dxvk.conf and enabled following options. dxgi.hideNvidiaGpu = False dxvk.numCompilerThreads = 0 So dxvk-2.3.1 can use all CPU cores for shader compilation. And I am satisfied with the result. However, the Adaptive Sync in 552.61 or 552.55 no longer works with dxvk-2.3.1 or dxvk-async 2.0, so I have to edit NVIDIA control panel and close Vsync for P3R to make Adaptive Sync work. -

About UE4's shader compilation stutter issue in P3R, obviously R550 drivers have better performance than R535 drivers. Now I am using 552.61 and trying to find an ideal solution.
