  1. Added test results of Opera 11.00, QtWeb 3.x, Arora 0.10.0, and Qt Demo Browser.

  5. Firefox 3.6.11 and QtWeb 3.5 build 051 work on Windows 2000 compatibility mode. Although QtWeb crashes when running Peacekeeper benchmark, it still benefits from the improvement of Qt 4.7.0.
  6. I compiled Arora 0.11.0 (with Qt 4.7.0) by Visual C++ 2005 express edition and MinGW, and it seems that latest Arora can't work on Win98se. I also tried 0.10.2 compiled by other user but got same result. Dependency Walker shows the following message before Arora stops. SingleApplication: Unable to listen: "QLocalServerPrivate::addListener: \b Win32 C" Old official 0.10.0-1 (with Qt 4.5.3) works and passes Peacekeeper benchmark without problem. Besides, the demo browser 0.1 in Qt also works. http://i88.photobucket.com/albums/k167/halohalox/kernelex/QT_demo_browser.jpg
  7. Internet Browsers OPERA 10.63 http://www.opera.com/ Notepad Replacements Notepad++ 5.8.2 http://notepad-plus-plus.org/
  8. Latest MAMEUI32 is also affected by the same error, but I bypass it by running the program from Dependency Walker.
  9. The background image problem in Firefox 3.6.10 has been fixed by KernelEx 4.5 RC 4. Besides, Opera 10.70 snapshot 9050 also works with OUniAnsi.dll from 10.62. Thank you for the great work
  10. Firefox 3.6.9 and 3.6.10 do not load background images while browsing web pages. Firefox 3.6.8 or 4.0 beta 6 are OK.
  11. Internet Plugins + Utilities Adobe Flash Player 9.0.283.0 http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/ Graphical Design XnView v1.97.8 http://www.xnview.com/ Notepad Replacements Notepad ++ 5.8 http://notepad-plus-plus.org/

  13. Internet Browsers Opera 10.62 released http://www.opera.com/
  14. Graphical Design XnView v1.97.7 released http://www.xnview.com/
  15. Opera 10.70 b9034 also fixes the problem under Windows 98. http://my.opera.com/desktopteam/blog/b9034
  16. Latest ATI Omega Driver for Win98 is a modified Catalyst 4.2, so it won't support HD2K and HD3K.
  17. http://groups.google.com/group/macromedia.players.flash/browse_thread/thread/074792ac4cca9154 http://www.zdnet.com/blog/hardware/flash-player-and-pentium-2-cpus-dont-play-nice-together/2181 http://my.opera.com/burnout426/blog/show.dml/1898430 http://forums.adobe.com/message/1019008?tstart=0 Besides, some users claim Adobe fixed the problem in Flash Player 10.
  18. What kind of CPU do you use? Since 9.0.115.0, Flash Player 9 requires SSE.
  19. Opera Desktop Team already fixed opera.dll related error in 10.61 RC2, so it can work without KernelEX.
  20. There is no driver for High Definition Audio devices like ALC883.
  21. It is a security update. http://www.adobe.com/support/security/bulletins/apsb10-16.html
  22. Adobe Flash Player 9.0.280.0 released. http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/
  23. Although Geforce 6 and 7 have shader model 3.0 support, most games using HDR only support Windows 2000 and above. When I play Phantasy Star Universe with X850XT on Windows 2000, I can enable AA by renaming the program's name to bioshock.exe. But GeForce 7 can't use AA because the game will force antialiasing off, and only GeForce 8 and above can bypass the limitation by using nHancer. Besides, X8xx cards support component video output up to 1080i, and 6800 cards only support S-Video out.
  24. Without KernelEX, LnkIconShim is not applicable to 98.
