There are lots of Vista update packs , a simple google search finds a few here is one http://www.ryanvm.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=5032 , topic its dutch, but the fixes are multilanguage.

I always had BSOD during setup, it took a while before i know it was the sata driver wich came with the original Vista dvd After i slipstreamed my own drivers into Vista, i have no more BSOD. I dont say you have the same problem, but who knows, its worth a try.

msi file was edited with Installshield and changed the name from Add or Remove Programs. That was not the question.
